If you're in Hell's Kitchen/Midtown and looking for a great lunch spot, you have to check out Der Leung. Their lunch special is a steal, and the red curry is hands down the best I've had in years. It's rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of spicy. The place has a cozy vibe, and the staff is super friendly. Perfect for a quick, delicious escape in the middle of the day. Don't miss it!

The food was simple, and the flavor build was simple. It didn't have enough flavor. I had a good amount of meat on my order of duck. However, my friend ordered thai fried rice with pork, and we both tasted it, and the flavor profile didn't hit it. It was tender, but it didn't taste like pork at all.

However, for the service, I give 2 stars because they refused to give my friends (that's right, we were a group of 6 and 3 of us needed chairs with a back). They were smiling about it, but...there were chairs WITH backs available later.  I will NOT go back there, AND I will NOT be recommending others either. And believe me, others look at my reviews.

Five stars all around—this is the best Thai spot I have been to. Incredibly friendly and attentive service, quality vegetables, very calm atmosphere; I’d recommend it to everyone, and I do.

Every time I stay in this area, this a staple of my diet. Do yourself a favor and support these wonderful people.
