Waited in line for 1.5 hours just to see some random tourists cut the line and be escorted into a private room, whatever. The food was mediocre. Who uses shredded lettuce for a caesar salad?? It came super warm and wilted with a couple of very strong anchovies. The clam pasta is supposed to be very popular but the clams were chewy and overcooked, even a little sandy. Wish I had gotten the baked clams first so I would know to change my order because those were just as chewy and gross. Thank god the veal was good because it was $86. Only 2 waiters so service is slow. The owner sits at a table in the front and plays random videos on a mini speaker on the table that plays over the music which added a chaotic charm that I found funny but some might hate. There was no bar menu but every now and then you’d see one-off cocktails being sent to the private dining area. Wine is only sold by the bottle with the average price around $150, come drunk if you come at all.

People stand in line for hours to get in here, so obviously it is good. We stopped by on a Friday just before 4:00 and got right in. Very nice small dining room with amazing food. We started with a Caprese salad that was incredibly good. The tomatoes were delicious and the buffalo mozzarella was incredible - probably made that morning. We also were given bread that would have made a great meal by itself. I then had chicken parmigiana which was (1) huge and (2) melt in your mouth delicious. Best I have ever had and I have had it a lot. My friend had pasta with a Marinara and it too was delicious. Wonderful cozy room, great service (the recommendations were spot on) and incredible food. Just another in a very, very large group of very happy customers.

Authenticity and atmosphere star 5. Maybe eat a snack before you wait in line so you don’t pass out from hunger. No reservation allowed and waiting on line over an hour made me cranky and I filled up on 5 pieces of bread waiting over another hour for my food. Nether the less I hadn’t been here in decades so I came and experienced and they were nice. I felt a bit bad for the waiter as he appeared to be working alone which made the service rushed. There’s BTW an additional room in the back with a bit of a wine cellar vibe. We arrived at a bit after 5:30 pm Sunday in light rain and they were already full and there was approximately 10 people ahead of us. I’m not sure how to access quicker entrance, ask at the door. My favorite part of the evening was reading the old newspapers dated from the 70’s on the bathroom wall. The wine is good perhaps I should have drank more. The waiter said the ice machine and soda cooler was broke and I couldn’t have a soda, weird. The food is a bit heavy for my taste and my Caesar salad was sad. Check it out tell me what you think. I lived in Naples Italy 8 years so I’m tainted.

No frills, amazing red sauce, Italian comfort food! Heard great things about the chicken parm here and really needed to check it out for myself. We had the fried calamari, penne arrabbiata, pork chop special and of course the chicken parm. Everything was so delicious - would definitely come back again! Hopefully without  wait again.

Five stars is not enough for this gem. I honestly hate to even leave a review because I don't think my words can do the food justice. But to anyone who might stumble across this review, everything we tried (a table of three) was indescribably, mind-blowingly amazing. Authentic Italian food with so much flavor that I'm still trying to process the experience months later. Did we wait patiently outside until a table was available? Yes. Was it worth every second? Absolutely!

Jag hade bara ett önskemål när jag kom till NYC med min familj och det var att prova Emilio Ballatos. Jag hade sett så många videor på sociala medier som säger att detta var en av de bästa Italienska restaurangerna i staden. Det är verkligen en kändis hotspot så jag trodde att maten måste vara otrolig, men, tråkigt för mig, var det inte. 

Jag älskade verkligen focacciabrödet. 1000 / 10 . Därefter åt vi stekt mozarella och en sallad. Jag gillade inte heller, men min familj gillade mozzarellan. 

Till förrätt beställde vi kycklingparm som ska vara det de är kända för, köttbullar och spagetti, dagens fisk och spaghetti pomodoro. Min bror brydde sig inte om fisken och skickade tillbaka den, min andra bror gillade sin spaghetti men sa att köttbullarna inte hade någon smak. Kyckling parmen föll kort - inte tillräckligt med sås och min pomodoro var genomsnittlig. 

Restaurangen i sig är charmig, gammal, och jag ser lockelsen med det. Maten var dock inte imponerande och definitivt överskattade IMO.

Oförskämd ägare från början. För dyrt och under överväldigande mat. 
Jag är en Italienska från CT och har fått mycket bättre mat från många andra ställen.

Hemsk upplevelse. Vi hade en grupp på 7 och valde familjestil. Utan att berätta för oss, de beställde 3 portioner av varje förrätt som kom ut till $ 180 per person (vi beställde inte ens alkohol). Det kändes som om vi blev rånade. 

Ovanpå allt detta kunde personalen inte vara mer oförskämd. Spara dina pengar och gå till någon av de 1000 + bättre restauranger i New York.

Kom fram till ca 6 . 30 pm på en torsdag kväll

Jag åt middag. Restaurangen tar inte emot bokningar och väntade ca 30 minuter för bord vilket inte är dåligt för en lördag kväll. 

Hittade maten bra men för dyrt. Beställde de bakade musslorna och kycklingparmigianan, båda var goda. Gratis bröd var mycket bra.

Vi hade god men inte bra pasta och sallad i små portioner för höga priser. Inredningen med alla bilder av kändisar är kul, men värd Emilio var gruff och inte mycket gästvänliga. Kanske för att vi inte var kändisar. Rekommenderas inte.

Vi besökte Emilio innan vi gick på teater. 
Den öppnar klockan 5 , tar inte emot bokningar och anländer klockan 17 : 20 . Vi hade 20 minuters väntan. 
Väl värt det. Mysigt, charmigt och serverar utsökt mat. 
Den enda nackdelen är att vänta på ett bord. 
Är du alltså förberedd får du en härlig kväll.

Enastående italiensk mat tillagad med kärleksfull omsorg. Söndag eftermiddag är en perfekt tid att gå snd få utmärkt service också.

Jag hade nöjet att äta här förra veckan på min resa till NYC. Allt om besöket var perfekt. Emilio rekommenderade Linguine Alle Vongole, som jag är mycket glad att jag gick med. Vinet var fantastiskt också, även om jag tyvärr inte fångade namnet på detta. Som någon från Storbritannien med italienskt påbrå var det ärligt talat som att äta min nonnos-mat och väckte minnen. Vackert.

Detta är inte en översyn av mat. Bara erfarenhet. Jag kom med två medarbetare. Som ni vet tar de inte emot bokningar. Det indikerade push bell, det finns ingen klocka att trycka. Hur som helst, det råkade vara så att en beskyddare var på väg ut och vi "hälsades" (jag använder den termen löst) av en anställd. Jag frågade om de hade plats för tre, han sa nej och stängde dörren i ansiktet på oss. 

Det var min erfarenhet, nej jag ser inte en enda röra. Jag jobbar några kvarter bort. Nej det var inte något mer som jag utelämnar från vår interaktion. 

Jag hoppas att alla andra får en bättre upplevelse.

Om du går in på restaurangens HEMSIDA finns det helt klart en sektion som erbjuder bokningar för privata tillställningar. Vi var glada eftersom vi har haft många tillfredsställande måltider här i det förflutna. . kommer vid 5 för att undvika raden. Vi mailade vår begäran om en årsdag firande och besvarades snabbt från ägarens son (inte Mario, kocken). Han skickade oss en meny och lista över priser och bekräftade att ett bord var tillgängligt i bakre rummet för ett parti av tjugo på det begärda datumet. Vi gjorde planer på att träffa honom, under veckan vid 530 på restaurangen för att lämna en deposition och provsmaka några rätter. Vi bekräftade dagen innan. 
 Vi dök upp, och fick mycket oförskämt höra av ägaren att hans son inte var här. Vi förklarade situationen och fick ett mycket oförskämt besked om att han inte visste någonting om det , om webbplatsen och att han inte hade någon aning om när hans son skulle komma. Han ville inte låta oss ha ett bord att vänta på honom och gjorde inga ansträngningar för att kontakta sin son. Inte det minsta ursäktande, i själva verket var han mycket irriterad på oss och hans son. Jag förklarade att vi reste från förorterna, i den kalla kylan, betalade för ett garage och kunde visa honom e-postmeddelandena. Han var inte intresserad, fortsatte att snäsa åt oss och vägrade att ge oss ett bord. , Vi höll oss svala hela tiden, trots att när jag använde toaletten var det uppenbart att det fanns bord i det bakre rummet. Han mycket motvilligt gav oss ett bord som var rock check litet bord, faktiskt mittemot dörren, där kall luft blästrade in och där han ständigt skrek åt människor att stänga dörren. Bordet hade inte ens plats för förrätterna. 
 Även om sonen inte svarade på våra e-postmeddelanden den kvällen, svarade han nästa dag och gjorde arrangemang för att göra samma sak nästa vecka. Skyll det på vår naiva. eller hoppet fjädrar evigt. vi trodde att han var uppriktig vi försökte igen och utsattes för värre verbal misshandel. Den här gången när vi kom in och sonen inte var där igen... började pappan skrika åt oss... det var inte bara pinsamt... det var irriterande... speciellt eftersom vi aldrig sa ett respektlöst eller högt ord till honom. Minst sagt, ingen kund ska behandlas på detta sätt. . . OCH förresten när vi satt vid frysbordet vid dörren. . var det mycket uppenbart att ett antal personer som var bekanta med ägaren släpptes in på plats eller bad om ett bord vid en bestämd tid senare den kvällen. 
 Jag vill gärna tro att om Mario hade varit där hade saker och ting kanske varit annorlunda...

Platsen är liten som vanligt i NY. Maten är ok. De dåliga recensionerna går till kundtjänsten de hanterar. Theres ingen reservation ( thats ok ) . Theres alltid en wating line outsise väntar på sin tur och de respekterar inte det eftersom när familj, vänner dyker upp de släpper in dem. Theres människor väntar utanför i TIMMAR och ägaren av restaurangen och anställda bryr sig inte. Det är synd. Om du vill äta middag på det här stället är det bäst att du börjar köa kl. 15.00. . . .

Groteskt för dyrt. Maten var mycket genomsnittlig. Vi hade kyckling parmigiana och pasta - skulle starkt rekommendera att gå till Carmines eller Parm om du vill ha bra parmigiana snarare än här. Det värsta med det var den fruktansvärda servicen: ovänliga, långsamma, smällande tallrikar när de samlade dem. Det var så illa att vi inte lämnade någon dricks men utan tvekan är det ett sådant ställe där de bestämmer sig för att lägga till sin egen dricks ändå. Ägaren sitter i hörnet och älskar att det är hans restaurang och skriker krav till personalen så jag kan typ förstå varför de är så eländiga - verkar konstigt att han inte har något annat att göra hela dagen.

Jag gick till restaurangen med min familj. Det var en enastående upplevelse. Mario, ägarens son, var så älskvärd, liksom hans mamma. Vi satt längst bak och hade den bästa maten, vin och cocktails. Atmosfären var så traditionell, gammal - stil italiensk. Det var en perfekt kväll.
