A lovely tofu pudding shop in Chinatown that offers both savory and sweet options. We opted for the 'Can't Go Wrong' combo that came with taro balls, red bean, and grass jelly, topped with brown sugar syrup. Located on the edge of Chinatown, Fong On is my family’s favorite spot for soy milk and tofu pudding. The OG store was opened in 1933, later transformed into a rebranded shop specialized in fresh and homemade soybean-based products.

You can find traditional soy products at Fong On, from sweet/savory tofu pudding to rice cake (糖糕), soy milk to herbal tea (夏枯草). For soy milk, you can even pick from sweetened or unsweetened. The space is small and clean with a few dine-in and outdoor tables.

We ordered a large bowl ($10) and built our own tofu pudding with three toppings and brown sugar syrup. The tofu pudding was silky, smooth and jiggly. The chewiness from the taro balls added more texture to the desseet, while the aiyu jelly and grass jelly complemented with the silkiness of the tofu pudding.

Of course I have to mention it was NOT TOO SWEET. A light and heartwarming dessert to enjoy after a full meal.

Fresh and tasty tofu puddings. We got a small sweet tofu pudding with taro balls, red beans and grass jelly,  generous size and very authentic it took me back to memories of my childhood days. My son who had never had tofu pudding also enjoyed it. So glad we came in! The staff was very kind! Recommend and will come back.
