Shared the summer rolls with tofu and the massaman curry! Was just what I needed/wanted on this super chilly nyc day. Very flavorful and on the lighter heaviness side. Wished it was spicier but it was marked as mild. Would definitely order again!

Terrific lunch at Ginger & Lemongrass on the LES.

We started with the roast pork buns. Two of us had the vermicelli bowls (one lemongrass chicken; the other with pork belly). My other friend had their curry. The food was great!

The restaurant is a beautiful space and the service is terrific. They also have a very interesting cocktail menu. We will definitely be back!

This is probably, hands down, my favorite spot in LES!

In my first visit, my group and I had gotten a beef tartare, two soups, and 1 banh mi (all of which were really good). It was our first time trying beef tartare and we were really surprised that we loved it. The bone marrow pairs surprisingly well and I can’t wait to order it again. The spicy lemongrass wasn’t as hot as we were hoping, so some chili oil from the banh mi was well needed. The added egg also seemed rather small for a paid add on. The beef pho was okay, but i feel the portions of the pho/soup are an area that needs improvement given the price. Finally, the glazed pork in the banh mi had a great flavor but we were only wishing there was a bit more of it present across the sandwich.

In another visit (without photos), we’d gotten a portobello summer rolls and were amazed by the flavor despite it being a mushroom protein. Overheard some love from another guest about their mushroom/vegan options, so I can’t wait to come back and try more!

During both visits, service was also great and very attentive!

I really haven't had great Vietnamese food in New York. I'm sure I'll get killed for that take like any other semi-polarizing take I have, so let's chalk it up to me not having been to the right spot yet.

I'm a hopeless optimist, so I had a great feeling walking into Ginger and Lemongrass that I would have finally found a great Vietnamese spot. My eternal optimism, as it so often does, let me down once again.

While there were some high highs, like the grilled beef wrapped in bettel leaves and thai coconut curry, there were equally low lows - that vermicelli bowl had overcooked, lukewarm chicken and the ingredients felt like they had been sitting for a little too long…

Everything else (the shaken beef, chicken wings, steamed pork belly buns, summer rolls) were a solid 7/10. Good, but not great. Good is the mortal enemy of great.

Overall, it just felt a little uninspired, kind of like this review is. It's hard to write when I'm not inspired.

I honestly would come back and just get like 3 orders of the grilled beef wrapped in bettel leaves. Those were elite.

I love infused water they give you!
We recommend summer rolls! I had ones with veggies and my husband had ones with shrimp!! And we had curry: chicken for him and veggies for me. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Loved it!!! Next time my husband chose chicken curry soup and he loved it as well.
