My friend and I tried to go in, there was a line, and we waited. When we got closer, they asked if we had a reservation. We said no and asked how we could make a reservation, if not for today, then at least for next time. The women at the entrance ignored us, and the security guard started to explain us something, but the girl immediately told him to stop, pulled him aside, said something to him, so he stopped talking with us.
When I tried asking again how we could make a reservation, the women turned her back to us and ignored us, as did the rest of the staff. I have never in my life received such disrespectful treatment from a place!! We felt humiliated. Ignoring us and turning their backs? This place is unprofessional and completely lacking in humanity.

I thought to check other reviews and saw that this exact situation happened to others as well. Please read reviews before going there!! It’s a huge disgrace for a place to treat people so poorly and disrespectfully.
I absolutely do not recommend this place, and I will never set foot there again, nor will my friends.

I got invited to gospel for the first time and , first of all three of my friends were wearing cute outfits with converse shoes and they negated the access so they went back to the hotel and changed their shoes , to after find men wearing converse too ( can’t understand why) secondly , men were so disrespectful with women (drunk) trying to dance with you without asking you and getting so drunk to the point that we’re on top of the dj stage behaving not polite. I wasn’t a fan of the crowd but the place and the sound system quality was okay. I have no interest to come back. Even tho the staff was nice and kind but definitely there should be a policy of how to behave when you are in this kind of places. Men were so creepy and intense with women.

I have gone out in major cities consistently my entire life (NYC, LA, Chicago, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, and more) and I have never been more offended by a bar. My friend and I were in line and observing the burner art on the exterior of the bar when a woman came up to us and asked if we have a reservation. We said no and she looked us up and down then moved to the people behind us then, addressing the 4 of us (my friend and I & 2 strangers) said, “are you guys from this neighborhood? Because we have a dress policy.” and then went on to say that we would not get in because we weren’t adhering to the policy. I was wearing heals, silk pants and a lingerie-esque top. I pulled down my coat and said, “this isn’t good enough to get in?” She said, “oh, you’re good. Are you going in by yourself?” I replied that no, my friend is with me and she proceeded to say she was dressed too casually for their business and they just won 2024 Best Bar in America. (My friend also had clubbing attire on but nice sneakers). I told her that everything I read online about the bar represented it as ‘House of Yes in Manhattan.’  (Note that their exterior decor matches this description.) she asked again if I wanted to come in alone, as if I’m going to just leave my friend. Here is a direct quote from their website: “ we promise to be a beacon of excellence for anyone desiring more out of their social time.”

They are definitely not this. They are trying to act like some cool, elitist Manhattan posh bar but their atmosphere suggests the opposite. Also, I will admit that my style is more 2000 CLUBBING attire (which was acceptable) but the coolest people I know in New York wear sneakers out because that is what’s actually cool now, not healed booties and a short dress. Also this woman was wearing a coat that looked like it came from the 90s and I think she may be mentally striving for a different era in which she was still cool.

I can’t believe this bar is acting this way. It feels pretty out of touch with the reality of what is actually cool nowadays and the way this woman handled it was so offensive that my friend cried afterwards and I am so offended by her behavior that I was driven to write this extremely long review. I don’t know why these guys think this is the way to keep being awarded best bar in America. Offending your potential customers is not the way to run a local business. I never curse at people and I used 2 curse words at her because she worked me up so much. I am so shocked that I’m going to email this to their management as well.

It’s one thing to actually be cool and represent that online (there are many bars that do this and that’s fine, we understand the vibe) but don’t represent yourself as an inclusive business if you actually want to be exclusive. And get with current fashion.

This used to be Soviet Art-Deco lounge PRAVDA famous for best drinks in the city and really good finger food turned into upscale lounge/night club. This place has a hype for a quiet some time and is NYC vanity fair at its best. They are following the path of One Oak, making this place super exclusive. You will need to reserve a table and make sure to bring a good ratio of men/girls.  For the 6 guys, they obligated us to get at least 3 bottles.  The initial bill of $2500 got inflated at the end of the night to 4K (we had ordered some drinks from the bar, but still, this jump is pretty steep). The worst part that two of our friends wanted to join our table, but they told us that they had to pay $500 each. But don't get me wrong,  I had a really good night there and lots of fun.  Yes, it was overpriced but pretty solid fun.
So if you want to feel exclusive,  make a reservation, bring some girls, and get ready to pay lots of $
