I've been wanting to come here for the longest time. Finally! The location is great, the restaurant front is so inviting, but the inside is so disappointing..! I was hoping to walk in like a nona's Italian home
Something cozy, family oriented, warm & Italian. The interior could be 100% better & make it a beautiful destination because the food is delicious! The dishes lack presentation & that organic look of homemade Italian meals, but they are delicious to say the list. Overall, this could be a great experience, but they need to work on the interior, presentation & quality of dishwear. Def will come back.

Such a cozy spot to have a delicious meal. Not only that, but the service is impeccable. I was running early so I called the restaurant and they said it wouldn’t be a problem to seat us early. Then we ran into unexpected traffic so I had to call back to let them know that we’d be arriving at the original time. Instead of just agreeing with me, they noticed I was stressed about the shifting timeline and said “take your time, whenever you get here we can seat you, but we don’t want you stressed before dinner.” This sentiment of hospitality continued through the meal, which was incredible.

Edit: I came back with a big party and to nobody’s surprise, House of Lasagna was A+. Everything was great, as always!

Prob one of my favorite meals in NYC.

Shoutout to the owner & entire staff for an overall great experience.

- It was a little hard to spot if you're driving through.
- location is tucked on the corner E 39th St and Lexington.
- prices are affordable and reasonable
-has a very nice ambience when seated.

The owner was working the front and was very friendly and  welcoming.
Staff was attentive and respectful of boundaries (they don't not bother you so often like other places)

The table bread was a little hard and I wasn't sure what the dip was (i did ask eventually) but it was a good.

The brushetta gave me life. The bread was warm and toasted. The tomatoes and flavoring was perfect.. most places add cheese and balsamic and HoL dishes not need it for theirs.

The penne was cooked perfectly al dente.

The sangria was good but tasted a little watered down and did not have a fruity feel to it.

The House of Lasagne is a true neighborhood staple—because really, who doesn’t love lasagne? The cozy, intimate atmosphere makes it perfect for a casual dinner or date night, and the service is attentive and friendly. The lasagne itself is rich and flavorful, living up to its name.

My one critique? The bread could be better. For a place specializing in hearty Italian comfort food, I was hoping for bread that would match the quality of the mains.

Still, this is a spot I’d happily return to. Solid food, good vibes, and great service.

We truly enjoyed our last meal in NY at the House of Lasagna. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere.  A definitely must while in Midtown NY.
