Visited with my son and the veterans, audio clips, and exhibits were absolutely fascinating. The people stationed around the ship and submarine were very friendly and knowledgeable! We had given ourselves 3 hours to visit and definitely could have spent 5 or 6! The grill was excellent and did a great job getting food out in a reasonable time frame.
I don't know if it would be possible, but now that the Enterprise is inside a tent, if the catwalk could extend towards the cargo bay and have the doors open that would be so cool.
The LEGO displays were especially fascinating to my son. He loved examining them and being surprised that what he thought was a model was LEGO!

Had a layover and decided to spend it here at the museum. Absolutely no line to go inside bought my ticket in advance. Spent a good 4 hours or so seeing the whole thing. It’s amazing the amount and type of aircraft they have in this museum! A true must visit for any aviation enthusiasts and curious minds. The Concorde experience was extra but was well worth being inside such a historic aircraft and sitting in the first class seats while having an expert explain its whole history. It’s an awesome experience and plan to visit again soon!

Wonderful interactive activity for all ages. Located between pier 84 and  pier 86.  An upper flight deck of vintage airplanes for viewing.  Explore through the 🚢 ship.

A side elevator from the flight deck to the hanger deck that you can ride that was used to transport aircraft.

The Enterprise Space shuttle is located here. The Growler Submarine is also here, which was left as original from its retirement in 1964.

The Growler was used to intercept radio transmission outside of Russia when President Kennedy was shot. The crew had to maintain radio silence and was ready for war for the following week, unable to communicate or risk being discovered.  I learned a lot of history by talking to some of the staff.

You can tour.  Multiple interactive exhibits for all ages to participate in simulators.

The Intrepid- Warship.
Per the guide:  the Intrepid had the anchor ⚓️ placed for building just 6 days before WWII broke out. They expedited her building, and in just 17 months, she was completed and launched into the war.

The Intrepid side flight ✈️ deck elevator to move the planes from the Hanger to top deck dropped in just 10 seconds while in operation.

The Intrepid was reported to survive four Kamikaze attacks and a torpedo strike during WWII per the guide.

The top flight deck was originally wood but has been replaced due to weathering at its current dry dock location.

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone of all ages.

This was definitely one of the highlights from my recent NYC trip.
I spent around 2 hours looking around and only left when they were closing.  Absolutely brilliant, many aircraft as well as the actual ship and submarine with a huge amount of information available.
High Recommended, left with a huge smile on my face.

An excellent museum ship, a full-fledged aircraft carrier.  Very well preserved.  You get to go up into the control deck and see the inner workings of the ship.  Lots of cool planes on hand, including the SR-71.  They even have a Space Shuttle on display.  They've also an early diesel submarine, and a concord.  This is a must visit for aviation and nautical nerds!
