Best vibes! Came for a drink and light dinner. Music is amazing, wine selection is great, I got the salad which came with warm bread (with an amazing spice dish) - all were excellent. Staff was so friendly, especially Rose, who took care of me. Also, love how dog friendly they are!

Two of us walked in on Sat evening no booking & got window seats. Had their happy hour wine & a different second glass, both very good. The meat & cheese board was delicious, the complimentary bread is divine 👌🏻 our server was lovely, will definitely be back!

The terrasse/ outside seat are great.
The inside - is far too loud. - we couldn’t hear ourselves.

The menu is not clear at all. It said 4-7pm happy hour 8$ wines - but we didn’t get the advantage - without more info.

The burger is good but not amazing.
The tacos are good.

The 20/22$ price for a South Africa wine is far overpriced.
As the food also - correct but overpriced also.

We live in the neighborhood - there are places that we would more recommend.
We will not go back.

Hubby and I went for dinner in the city as he wanted to try South African food. It was surprisingly lively for a 5pm on a Saturday. So clearly it's popular! The service was good and the food was as well. Their house bread is *top tier*. The tables were a tad tight but since the restaurant is crowded you can't hear other folks conversations. If I lived closer, I could see myself being a regular.

The people running this place are very kind.

However, I would not go back here.

We wanted Sauvignon blanc and they brought us Chardonnays to try.

The food was mostly seasoned incorrectly. Heavy on the cinnamon and coriander. We couldn’t finish the dishes and they didn’t seem to ask why or notice.

Detta är en stor lokal vinbar. Vi fick prova äkta afrikanska blandningar och de var riktigt goda. Personalen där var mycket vänlig och gav oss mycket information om de olika vinerna och var regionerna de kommer ifrån. Vi fick även grönsaksreglagen som mellanmål och de var jättegoda. Autentisk mat från Sydafrika! Till och med servitrisen var sydafrikansk. Allt var läckert. Menyn är en uppfriskande och unik förändring från vad som vanligtvis erbjuds i NYC. Maten är exotisk men inte så mycket att en picky äter inte skulle vilja det. En lammburgare med sura körsbär och peri - peri chips är fortfarande bekant men tillräckligt annorlunda för att vara kul. Vildsvin glidare med vilken cool aioli de hade var fantastisk. Malvapuddningen var härlig. Cocktaillistan var full av intressanta idéer. Vi kommer säkert tillbaka.

Jag besökte med vänner som har gillade denna pärla i en sydafrikansk restaurang med en karismatisk personal som får alla att känna sig som hemma. Jag blev inte besviken. Mango bellini var en underbar start på måltiden. De serverade en brödkorg med olivolja, en krydda gnugga, smör och en fruktkompott eller sylt som smakade lite som körsbär och äpplesmör. Kryddblandningen och olivolja var också ett smakfullt alternativ. Jag valde Juannies skillet och det var fantastiskt med ägg serveras på en bädd av chorizo och svarta bönor med tortillas rostade med en smulig ost på sidan och en grön tomatsalsa. Mina vänner hade en biff- och potatisfat och en grönsaksgryta med ägg bakade i grytpannan. Vi såg ett par av deras fyllda franska toasträtter gå förbi och alla var överens om att det var något att prova nästa gång. Bokstavligen såg allt som kom ut ur köket fantastiskt. Jag ser fram emot att återvända på ett framtida besök i NYC.

Älskade denna plats. Det är en sydafrikansk restaurang och jag blev förvånad över hur bra det var. Bra vinlista över allt vin från det landet. Bläckfisk entree var kokta precis rätt. Och min entree av något som såg ut som köttlasagne träning ost eller tomat var helt utsökt. Och dessert var fantastisk. Definitivt kommer tillbaka. Suzaan passade vår grupp och såg till att vi hade platser före tid men de tar inte reservationer. Vinet var härligt och vi har haft 2 olika tapas för att komplimangera vinet. Du kan ha en härlig måltid här genom att beställa några av de hjärtligare tapas och sallad. Rummet är ganska högt vid kapaciteten men - även på en tisdagskväll hade vi problem att höra varandra och ropade att bli hört vilket var den enda bummer om vår erfarenhet där.

Rätt utanför flaggan kommer du att märka att personalen är så vänlig, tillmötesgående och från Sydafrika. Ägaren Suzaan var mycket välkomnande och rekommenderade lite bra vin som vi haft enormt. Vi började måltiden med lite biltong som tog mig tillbaka till SA. Efter det beställde jag Lamb Burger, jag har haft många hamburgare från många olika länder och jag måste säga händer ner Lamb Burger var bokstavligen perfekt och den bästa burger jag någonsin har haft. Du måste prova det. Det var mina vänner födelsedag och när de hittat det här, blev vi behandlade på en rund av "SpringBokkies" (Shots from SA) och en öken med ett ljus i det, också en fantastisk öken.

Kaia är bra för så många anledningar. Det är ett underbart utrymme där du enkelt kan njuta av ett fantastiskt och unikt glas vin eller du kan gå för en fullständig och utsökt måltid. Kaia har några häften som regelbundet hålls på menyn men deras meny ändras också med årstiderna. Maten är alltid kreativ och smaklig och vi lämnar alltid full och glad. Om du befinner dig på UES, är det här definitivt en unik pärla att vandra in i!

Jag hade bara fyra slidare här, inte mycket hungrig. En sak som imponerade mig direkt var att jag lade fram en slumpmässig ordning, men de fyra skjutreglagen kom ut prydligt presenterade i rad på en lång tallrik. De var också bra, inklusive, som jag minns, en krabba tårta och en vildsvin burger. Anständigt vin (jag valde det billigaste, för även genom glaset kör de högt här).

Några andra människor hade vad jag antar var den kryddade nötköttet med ägggryta på den i en hetpanna. Såg bra ut, men mer än jag behövde just då. Den allmänna atmosfären var genial; massor av stamgäster tror jag. Så övergripande, ett bra ställe att ha precis vad du vill och inte mer, veta vad du än kommer att bli bra. Och sannolikt kan du inte hitta någon annanstans. Men det hjälper till att vara en vinälskare, eftersom du kommer att betala en liten premie för kvaliteten.
