Arguably one of the best steakhouse in NYC and maybe one of the best I have ever tried. Keens Steakhouse owns the largest collection of churchwarden pipes in the world with origins going way back into the 17th century! Today, Keens is the only survivor of the Herald Square Theatre District. It’s a very sophisticated, warm, and enchanting environment upon entering the doors and you’ll immediately be in awe of the history of this brand with a strong showcase of their churchwarden pipes collection. There is a space just for cocktails and also 2 levels for big and small groups to dine in. Reservations in advance is highly recommended. Service staff is very efficient, friendly and helpful. We got our seats in less than 3minutes; not much waiting to be done.

We split the porterhouse for two with a group of 4 and added on the mutton chop, which at a whopping two and a half pounds, is a sight to behold. Meat was tender, crusty and flavorful even when cooked to their medium well preferences. Creamed spinach was decent; oysters were very very fresh and enticing. New York Cheesecake was a superb ending to our meal as well. It comes with a hefty price tag but worth the indulgence and experience for sure. Wine menu is extensive as well even though we skipped the pairing for the evening. Super decent experience on overall and would recommend.

We wandered into this steakhouse on Christmas Eve without a reservation but were told bar seating is available on a first come first served basis to order food. We were so blessed that the one table at the bar just happened to be open. All the people working there were super friendly and attentive. The steak was great- porterhouse for two. The carrot cake was amazing! We enjoyed the banana foster too. So lovely and cozy for a Christmas Eve dinner.
