We had an okay experience here. My friend and I (the host of our gathering) arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation time. The two ladies who check us in were fine and we had no issues. We had to wait for about 20 before we were able to get into our room. The room was spacious and comfortable.
The issues raised when our friends came to join us and proceeded to say that the bouncers were not very nice to them upon arrival.
Overall, this location was ok but there are other options available that are a bit cheaper and affordable.

I visited this establishment for a birthday gathering and left feeling frustrated. Firstly, there was no free tap water available, which is required by law when alcohol is served at a bar. Additionally, the minimum card charge was set at $20, and bottled water was priced at $6, which felt unreasonable. To make matters worse, there was a $20 cover charge, and a $4 fee was charged to hang up coats. The overall experience felt like a cash grab, compounded by unprofessional customer service. As if that wasn’t enough, guests were forced to place their coats on bar stools since they were not allowed to hang them, only for the stools to be removed. The bartenders were also unfriendly, which only added to the disappointment.

I had a terrible experience at this bar. The bouncers were incredibly rude and completely unprofessional. My friends and I were just waiting for our coats at the coat check, and they started hassling aggressively asking what we were waiting for (wanting us to leave). On top of that, they don’t offer tap water—only $6 bottled water! Ridiculous. And if you’re planning on paying with a card, be prepared to spend at least $20, because that’s their absurd minimum. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Totally not worth it.

We wanted to do karaoke last minute on a friday night with no reservations and our usual places were booked up, so we ended up here.
Pros:
-song choice was actually pretty nice
-unlike some other reviews: the staff we interacted with were very polite and kind
-also unlike some other reviews: we walked in and were not required to buy bottle service

Cons
-security staff was unnecessarily aggressive and rude. demanded my friend to open her bags pretty rudely but didn’t ask me. we just hurried along to the elevator. i feel the need to mention many have said they had experienced racism with the security but my friend is asian while im a white passing latina and had no issues other than that. i wear all black and my purse was black and slung behind me so we just presumed they didn’t see my bag
-this is one of the more expensive room rentals per hour in this area, drinks are also incredibly expensive. a bottle of soju is $60 when at other karaokes in the area, you can get one for $15
-we did not stay in the club but we went in at 12 and there was virtually no one there, people did begin showing up a little more after 1, but it is a small space and it was not too many people.
-staff will walk in multiple times mid karaoke, without knocking or an alert and ask if you want to order anything/extend your time etc. we appreciated when they told us we had 20/10 minutes left but it felt awkward to have them come in mid song, and even more awkward with the amount of times they asked when we weren’t planning on getting anything
-my biggest gripe that i did not see mentioned anywhere: we went up on the elevator as this is on the third floor. however, when we went to leave and were a little inebriated, we were not allowed to use the elevator and were made to walk down 3/4 flights of stairs while drunk. i get this is new york but it feels very dangerous to make drunk people walk down stairs when an elevator is available. there was no one in there and i do not have faith that someone would come and help if you fell and got hurt in there.

I only give them a two star because I don’t think we had the worst time, but it wasn’t the best and in comparison to the many other karaoke spots in the area, it’s definitely not worth the time or money. lesson learned though: we will be making reservations from this point on and returning to our regular places

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Literally the worst, meanest people ever. A group of friends and I got table service and they FORCED us to pay in the beginning even before getting served!!
We were KICKED OUT for NO REASON... just because my friend spilled some juice and was falling asleep on the sofa. She didn't do anything wrong and they just kicked us out after 20 minutes and we paid almost $500 including TIP for a bottle of patron. Seriously???
If you wanna get your money taken away and treated like garbage, definitely come here.
They are THIEVES and the bouncers here have disgusting tempers. SO RUDE AND MEAN. No wonder this place was empty on a Saturday night.
This was our BIGGEST mistake going here. NEVER AGAIN. Save your money and your time people.

Kom hit på en fredagskväll, och de spelar bra musik vilket är det viktigaste! Kan inte riktigt komma ihåg allt om natten för att vara ärlig, men det var ett bra urval av RnB-musik och det var verkligen livligt och packat. Jag tror att jag kommer ihåg att det bara är en toalett men som är nackdelen.

Vi såg en kampanj (på webbplatsen som denna som börjar med en Y) för en gratis timme av karaoke när du checkar in på Maru. Det var min första upplevelse på en karaoke bar med eget rum, och det var fantastiskt! Det fanns massor av låtar att välja mellan - även några ganska nya, och det var en bra meny med drycker. Vi såg till att begränsa oss till en timme, eftersom det normala priset är $ 40/timme. Efter rubriken till en närliggande bar, bestämde vi oss för att åka tillbaka till Maru för deras omvända happy hour, som har halva priset på karaoke från midnatt till nära. Rummen var perfekt för 6 personer i vår grupp.
