An excellent spot, with very good food. It’s a little pricey for what you get, but everything is homemade and delicious. It’s not quite authentic, almost a little like Chinese fusion. The burrito is particularly good, as are the birria dumplings. The sauces here are excellent, and the tortillas all seem homemade and excellent.

Great restaurant and great food. My only complaint is the dessert churros were too bland. I’m guessing they don’t mix the cinnamon sugar into the batter and they just roll it after. No flavor, but the strawberry and chocolate dipping sauces were good, but not enough to make them take good. The blue corn bread was fire. Excellent drinks and presentation of everything.

I ordered a mezcal with passion fruit, and it was absolutely spectacular. The smoky notes of the mezcal combined beautifully with the sweet and tangy passion fruit, making it a refreshing and unique cocktail. Hands down, one of the best drinks I’ve had in the city!

For food, I tried the tuna tacos, ceviche, and kung pao, and each dish exceeded my expectations. The tuna tacos were packed with flavor—fresh, well-seasoned tuna with a perfect mix of textures. The ceviche had a great balance of acidity and freshness, ideal for those who love light and vibrant dishes. And the kung pao was an unexpected delight, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the flavors without overpowering them.

The service was excellent, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff who were happy to offer recommendations. Mezcali is definitely a must-visit, whether you’re looking for a fun dinner with friends or just want to enjoy some amazing cocktails after

Great atmosphere, lively with music. Food was flavorful. I had the taco salad with mole falafel. We shared chips and salsa to start and spicy margaritas. Everything was great.

This is my second visit to Mezcali while visiting NYC. I stopped by last year and it was just as great this time. Whether for happy hour, dinner, or an after dinner drink, Mezcali won’t disappoint.

We got califries which are an awesome starter to share. I ordered the California burrito and I think it’s right up there with the best that can be found in San Diego. Don’t skip the chips and salsa. I highly recommend if you end up with extra salsa, put it on your food. They are three distinct tasting salsas with a nice ascending heat level between them to satisfy everyone at the table. And the chips, so good. Drinks are all great and I haven’t been disappointed by any. Order what sounds good and you can’t go wrong.

Make sure to leave room for dessert. It’s better if you have more people to share with but it’s worth it. I’m not a huge flan enjoyer but this one was very tasty. The tres leches is was so good. I highly recommend it.

As a born and raised Californian, it really is a nice slice of home in NYC in a great location. Highly recommend stopping by and I will be returning when I’m back out there.

Vilken pärla! Vi promenerade hit efter en solnedgångskryssning vid hamnen och letade efter margs och nachos. Ethan var vår server och han gjorde vår upplevelse verkligen minnesvärd. Drinkarna var välgjorda och presenterade. Maten var exceptionell - vi var alla överens om att nachos var bland det bästa vi någonsin hade haft och avokadosalladen var fräsch och utsökt. 

Vi firade en betydelsefull födelsedag och Ethan gjorde det speciellt - verkligen, vi kände att han firade med oss. Han var uppmärksam och uppriktig och vi lämnade känslan perfekt mättad.

Ganska plats massor av utrymme färgglad mat och dryck och vänlig service men lite överprissatt för genomsnittliga gemensamma menyval

Vi kom till denna Cali - mexikanska plats för drinkar och en raffinerad upplevelse, men lämnade med ringande öron, tomma plånböcker och den distinkta känslan vi bara hade ofrivilligt kastats som statister i någon annans privata fest. 

Restaurangen hade valt att hålla ett massivt förlovningsfirande – inne i stora matsalen – utan att stänga för allmänheten. Bara det beslutet dömde kvällen. Med 70 gäster inpackade var ljudnivån inte bara ”tryckande”, det var blåsor, trumhinnor - splittrande och helt hänsynslöst. Varje skål möttes av ett nytt skrik. Varje nykomling utlöste en vägg av höga - decibel skrik och för matgästerna, indignerade huvudskakningar. Vi tillbringade större delen av middagen skrikandes över bordet som om vi var mitt i en nattklubb. Det var vansinnigt. 

För privilegiet att uthärda kaoset betalade vi 200 dollar för tre läckra, överväldigande tallrikar tacos, en blygsam skål chips och en halv kopp vanlig avokadoguac. Vi valde att inte beställa drycker — bara vatten och iste, så att vi kunde få detta gjort. 

Om restaurangen vill extraknäcka som evenemangsutrymme bör de stänga till vanliga matgäster när de är värdar för en fest av denna storlek. Annars känns det som ett bete - och - switch: kom för en chic kulinarisk upplevelse, få en sida av ofrivillig tinnitus. 

På plus - ish sida, tacos var liten, men mycket välsmakande.

Burrito laddad med chips? Aldrig haft något så hemskt förut.... Chipotle Mexican Grill är när som helst bättre än detta. . .
