I was so excited to visit Mission Chinese for Christmas Dinner as my best friend raves about this being one of her favorite restaurants. I truly Had a great time but there were a couple of things that took this experience from a 5 star to a 4 star.
1. The hot and sour soup was served cold and slimy. As I was getting over a cold, I expected it to be HOT like the name when I expressed this to my waitress (long ponytail striped Christmas sweater) she did not inquire or try to improve my experience.
2. My waitress was not inviting or welcoming at all. It was Christmas for crying out loud. I know it’s busy but she was lackluster. In fact, after boxing our items sloppily (contents spilled on my dining partner) we had to ASK her for bags to carry the containers. When everyone else’s tables had their Togo plates bagged and delivered to them. Such a shame.

Overall, the shiso fried rice was DELECTABLE as was the snow crab garlic noodles. I was a fan of the cumin lamb ribs as well but the branzino left a little to be desired. The strawberries and cream dessert with pop rocks was the perfect after dinner treat.

I’d return however.

Shiso fried rice is very refreshing, and I love they use broken rice, pickled cucumber slices also a wonderful touch!

Sprite noodle, love it too.

Hopefully it will be a permanent location.

I had high expectations for this place, and it didn't disappoint at all. Every dish was delicious, perfect amount of spice and unique in their own ways. The sprite noodles, kung pow pastrami, and cha kee were our favorites

If you're expecting the same type of food as the Old Mission Chinese, you're in for a unpleasant surprise. Nothing from this menu screams traditional old school-what-you-know Mission Chinese to be or was.
