Back after years, I finally returned to this spot. Even with pre-booked tickets, we ended up waiting 5-10 minutes outside on a chilly Sunday morning - heads up to winter visitors!

The space was split between a cozy cafe and gift shop on the lower levels, with galleries upstairs. Each floor had its own personality, which was cool, but I'll be honest - the artwork felt a bit sparse considering the ticket price. The no-photo policy was a total buzzkill too.

Still, it was a nice way to spend a morning, and I'm glad I checked it out again. Might skip the ticket next time and just grab a coffee downstairs! :)

The museum is small and offers an intimate experience, showcasing masterpieces from the early 20th century. Among the captivating works on display, one piece stands out, leaving visitors both speechless and deeply moved: Gustav Klimt's iconic painting  of Adele Bloch-Bauer.
It is an extraordinary artwork characterized by its rich color palette and intricate use of gold leaf.The history behind the Portrait is amazing and sad at the same time. Created in 1907, the painting was stolen by the Nazis during their occupation of Austria and was embroiled in a complex legal battle that lasted decades before it was finally returned to Adele’s rightful heirs.Visiting the Neue Galerie to see this masterpiece is a must for anyone with an appreciation for art and history. The Neue Galerie is a treasure in New York, a must to see when visiting the city. It is an emotional journey worth taking.

It’s a must visit gallery to dive into German-Austrian artists life
You will see lots of Klimt’s paintings in the authentic interiors
The only thing I was disappointed is that it’s forbidden to take pictures inside
The staff was extremely kind and helpful

This is a beautiful and intimate gallery. It’s easy to explore and view the paintings without crowds. The two cafes are perfect for tea and a sweet treat.

Expensive entry fee for a small museum, but third floor was closed so they nicely discounted tickets. Worth it if you combine with a meal at Cafe S and if you love museums in gilded age mansions!
