Amazing food! Everything was so good - from appetizers to dessert. We ordered A LOT for 8 people, but it still came out to just $20 per person, including a box of leftovers to take home.

Initially surprised about the very few bad reviews about this place coz flavors were on point, but it figures - they're from a bunch of Karens and Kevins lol. Nice Day isn't a place to go for someone with a bland palate, but if you're adventurous on food, then go for it.

Best ones I tasted were the cheeseburger rolls - quite oily and sinful but so worth it 😂, chicken teriyaki - I could eat two servings of this, and the string beans - NOT the healthiest as it's fried with pork, but still so good to balance out all the rich flavors. Of course everything should be eaten with rice!

My favorite was the dessert, the peanut butter and coco jam French toast. So rich and unique, nothing I've ever tasted before. Heard it's also going to be phased out soon so go get it!!

I'm disappointed. I don't know if I ordered at a busy period or an off day but overall food is meh at best.

The rice was gluey. It was legitimately mush and you couldn't make out a grain of rice. Panda Express manages to cook their rice well so I don't know why Nice Day can't.

Second is the flavor. I'd say mostly meh is the overarching flavor. It's okay if you're hungry but disappointing considering how they market themselves as some sort of modern retelling of Chinese American food.

Mapo tofu tasted like something you'd get out of a pre-made lee kum kee sauce pack with added peppercorn and thickened with corn starch with scallions thrown in. Is it terrible? No. But it's just okay. It has some spice and some flavor but why would you want to order a dish that has "some flavor"? The gluey rice that accompanied it certainly didn't help. Mapo tofu is supposed to be a great "xia4 fan4" dish. I don't think the one I got accomplished that.

The vegetable chow mein was okay. What I got was very heavy handed on the dark soy sauce. Felt like it needed extra light soy sauce to balance it out otherwise some bites tasted under seasoned. I know dark soy is supposed to be the main flavor but it's not supposed to be the only flavor.

The one saving grace is a poor employee who was trying to make the best while swamped but managed to still give decent customer service.

Also a heads up on the portion sizes. The mapo tofu and the chow mein noodles both came in the black circular take out tubs. But they honestly could've been put into those small white rice containers that typically come on the side of the meals and it would've fit. I have pic that shows that. So if you're ordering to share, you might have to order more. I can't vouch for the dishes that have large sizes

The lo mein with char siu pork had the ‘wok hay’, veggies were fresh and tasted less salty; a bit different from its counterparts from restaurants in Chinatown. The serving size was generous for $12.99.

So good! The sesame chicken hit the spot and was just what I wanted. Super convenient and fast pickup too! Can’t wait to go back and order again.
