A modern Vietnamese fusion restaurant that focuses on noodle dishes. Even though I find the menu a bit lacking in terms of options, the food is quite unique and tasty. It's certainly not the best, but it does the job well enough.

The atmosphere is definitely the highlight of the place. With good lighting, non intrusive music, and a cozy feeling, the ambiance of the restaurant would certainly ensure you enjoy your meal here.

Pete was my server, and even though it was New Year's Eve, he took great care in the service that he provided to the customers.

Great good, quick service and lovely atmosphere.
We loved everything we ordered, especially the egg fried rice and chicken dumplings.
There is a lot of space in the restaurant. We booked in advance, we were four of us and we ordered one drink each, three appetisers, three main course and a dessert. Our total came out to be 98$ almost 50 per person.

It’s a very nice place.
The good was really good.

The music is not loud, so can talk with your significant.

We came here for dinner before a broadway show. Delicious food and great vibe!  Pete was our server and was great. Pad Thai was one of my best I’ve had. Definitely recommend!

Bra meny... det var svårt att bestämma vad man ska beställa. Vi har haft allt vi beställt! Fylld kyckling, Pad Thai med hummer, Krispig kyckling med cashewnötter och fläskkotletter. Även den stekta bananen med klibbigt ris och kokossorbet var mumsig! Vi skulle älska att återvända!

Utsökt, inbjudande, restaurang i Hell's Kitchen. Varje tugga var utsökt. Vår servitris förklarade menyn i detalj. Hon hjälpte oss att välja menyalternativ som passar vår smak. När vår mat kom, det var pipping varm och läcker. Priserna var förvånansvärt billiga. Fantastiskt utbud på menyn. Vi avslutade middagen med en drink i baren. Vänlig personal, bra mat och bra priser

OBAO: En matupplevelse som kommer att lämna dig... Hungrig efter bättre alternativ

Vi hade en reservation — eftersom vi är classy så — men var fortfarande tvungen att vänta, vilket skulle vara förståeligt om platsen var slammad. Det var det inte. Det fanns fler tomma bord än bra beslut som fattades den kvällen. Vi möttes med, "du har 90 minuter till två timmar" i stället för välkommen till Obao. — sorgligt och smaklöst! 

Vårt sällskap på sju personer fick plats på övervåningen, direkt ovanför vad jag bara kan anta var en DJ-audition för ”Worst Club in Midtown”. Musiken var så hög att det kändes som om basen fysiskt försökte tugga vår mat åt oss. Inte precis den vibe du vill ha när du försöker smaka din pad thai istället för att känna det. 

Maten: fläskmage? Kockens kyss. Allt annat? Kockens meh. Det var som om köket nådde toppen tidigt och sedan gick på autopilot. Medelmåttig i bästa fall — men inte offensivt dålig. Bara aggressivt okej. 

Halvvägs genom, vår servitör — som jag är övertygad om var en mänsklig förkroppsligande av en axelryckning — berättade för oss att vi måste vara ute på mindre än två timmar. Skämt är på honom, vi planerade redan vår exitstrategi. Tjänsten var så förvirrad i bästa fall. Försvunna förrätter, förvirrade blickar och en tebeställning som försvann någonstans i ljudboomen av DJ Disaster där nere. 

Vi har varit på OBAO förut och minns att det var bättre — så kanske var det bara en perfekt storm av dåliga vibbar och sämre spellistor. Men hej, här är några tips: 

Sänk volymen från ”Miami nattklubb” till ”faktisk restaurang”
Påminn innan ppl beställning om $ 30 minimum per person 
Träna din personal att göra mer än bara kretsa runt bordet
Och kanske inte stressa ut oss som om det vore en brandövning. 
Slutgiltig dom? Skippa sitsen - ner. Prova hämtmat. Åtminstone då är det enda som är högt och en besvikelse din egen mikrovågsugn.

Vad en stor restaurang, älskade atmosfären - en matsal känsla med liv och rörelse i service och andra kunder. Matportioner var generösa och välsmakande. Ett par fräcka cocktails avrundade av en fantastisk måltid!

Utmärkt vietnamesiska - Thailändsk fusion. Älskade citrongräs kort revben, pho bo, och mango klibbigt ris. Pete gav trevlig, uppmärksam service och bra cocktail råd. Rekommenderar starkt denna plats.

Jag gick två gånger inom en vecka eftersom den första erfarenheten var så bra. Båda gångerna var jag där för lunch innan teatern. De främjar en happy hour hela dagen under helgerna; jag antar att det stöder vad som kan vara lättare affärer på helgerna. Cocktails är läckra, billiga och kompletterar pannan - asiatisk mat. Fantastisk panna - asiatiska smaker. Favoriter var massaman curry kort revben, finger - slicka bra, de vietnamesiska vingarna och fläskkotletten, men egentligen ingenting alls var en miss. 

Vänlig service med en önskan att göra din upplevelse en som är rolig och trevlig i varje sväng. Vacker teak inredning som ger dig lite av en flykt från den vanliga Manhattan modern - - och får dig att känna dig som om du är på en varmare plats även i kylan av vintern.

Vi har verkligen haft middag på denna thailändska plats i Hell's Kitchen. Alla våra rätter var mycket bra. Bra service och trevlig atmosfär. Cocktails kan dock vara lite mindre generösa med isen.

Detta var vårt andra besök i Obao och återigen var vi mycket glada att äta här. Bra plats för pre - visa middag eftersom det är mycket walkable till Broadway teatrar. Matsalen var redan surrande vid 17:00 när vi kom. Personalen är mycket hjälpsam och välkomnande, menyn erbjuder många val. Den här gången valde jag Chicken Wings och Chicken Pad Thai. Vingarna var bra - - krispiga, med en läcker doppsås. Pad Thai också mycket gott och serveras med ett pocherat ägg på toppen - - såg aldrig det förut, men det var ganska gott! Vi kommer säkert tillbaka.

Besökte här den 12 / 12 / 24 med familj. Restaurangen är ganska liten men servicen var vänlig och effektiv. Vår mat var bra , min frus kyckling curry var inte alltför bra men överlag maten var ok . Priserna rimliga för en stad . Skulle jag besöka igen? Förmodligen inte som menyn var ganska begränsad .

Verkligen haft hela upplevelsen. Servicen var klockren och maten var fantastisk. 
Efter att ha hoppat av ett flyg från London tidigare på dagen, det var precis vad vi behövde. 
Förrätterna ... Wow. Prova dumplingsen och vårrullarna...mycket goda. 
Resten av maten var bra och det var bra prissatt. 
Trevlig atmosfär och en trevlig buzz om platsen. 
Definitivt värt ett besök.

Utmärkt service och måltider! Jag letade efter som asiatisk restaurang och Obao var den exakta tiden för restaurang jag hade i åtanke. Servitören var mycket trevlig och vi hade också chansen att chatta lite med chefen som var extremt glad och tillmötesgående! Min vän och jag njöt av våra måltider och öl!

Min fru och jag var på Obao för en snabb bit innan en show, så vi hade ångad kyckling / Shiitake dumplings och sommarrullar och pad thai med gigantiska räkor, dela allt. Allt var utsökt, servicen var fantastisk, och vi gjorde vår gardin med minuter till godo. Vi kommer tillbaka för en riktig middag när vi har mer tid!

Jag åt papayasallad och pho bo (ber om ursäkt om min stavning är felaktig) . 12 timmars nötkött buljong var utsökt och servicen utmärkt! Rekommenderas starkt!
