Went here while traveling to NYC and had a great experience! The food was delicious. Quick service but didn't feel rushed. Would definitely recommend reservations because they filled up quickly!

On January 2, 2025, my wife and I had tickets to a Broadway play and, happening upon Osteria Al Doge across the street from the theatre, decided to have lunch there.

The atmosphere of Osteria Al Doge is clean, bright and comfortable. We were imnmediately seated and thereafter greeted by our server Aaron. The service was excellent, as Aaron answered questions about dishes in a clear, articulate and helpful manner. He was attentive without being intrusive and everything one would want in a server when dining out.

We were provided a bread bowl and plates of olive oil, a pleasant and delicious start to our meal.

As an appetizer, we ordered Polpo Al Carbone - grilled baby octopus, fingerling potatoes, celery, cherry tomatoes and Taglasca olive salad with salsa verde. We  are very familiar with octopus appetizers and in the many ways in which it is served.

My wife and I were split in our opinions as to the Polpo Al Carbone - she thought is was tasy and I thought that in the portioins near edges, the grill flavor overwhelmed the octopus flavor. Notwithstanding my prefreence for Spanish olive oil with octopus, the Itaiian olive oil makes sense in this appetizer (given that we were dining in an Italian Restaurant). My wife and I both laud the great taste of all that accompanied the octopus.

My wife ordered a special, paprdelle with funghi. She truly enjoyed the pasta and the wonderful flavor of the mushrooms. I, too, opted for mushrooms, choosing the Sacloppine Ai Funghi. The veal medallions and mushroom sauce did not disappoint in any way and the fingerling potatoes and spinach went well-complemented the protein and sauce.

We no longer live in New York, but visit often. We will not hesitate to dine at Osteria Al Doge when next we come into the City. With so many available chocies to Italian fare, I recommend Osteria Al Doge the next time you seek a quality meal and dining experiuence.

I made a reservation in advance for Saturday at 6 PM to celebrate my friend's birthday. When I realized we were running late, I called the restaurant to inform them, and they said it was fine. However, when we arrived just 10 minutes late, they told us they couldn’t accommodate four additional people. Eventually, they managed to find a table for us on the second floor, but it was in a narrow passage.

The seating was extremely cramped, and the temperature was uncomfortably hot. There was no place to hang our coats, so we had to pile them on the seats. While the food was good and our waiter did his best to improve the situation, the mood had already been ruined. Eating while sweating profusely was not the experience we were hoping for. Unfortunately, I’m certain I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

This spot was perfect for dinner before a show. They were able to squeeze us in and the atmosphere was so cozy. Service was very attentive and checked on us often. We got the fritto misto as an appetizer and had the pappardelle ragu and the ricotta ravioli. Everything was very flavorful and yummy.

Min son och jag åt middag på Osteria Al Doge igår kväll, och wow — vilken otrolig upplevelse från början till slut! Vi snubblade in efter en hektisk dag i Midtown, och denna plats helt blåste oss bort. 

Atmosfären var perfekt — mysigt och elegant utan att känna sig kvav. Den mjuka belysningen, den rustika Italienska charmen och det låga surret av glada matgäster fick det att kännas som om vi hade flytt kaoset på Times Square, även om det bokstavligen är precis utanför dörren. 

Vår server var fantastisk! Och maten... helt enastående. Allt smakade fräscht och autentiskt, som något du skulle hitta i en undangömd - bort trattoria i Venedig. 

Det är ovanligt att hitta en restaurang som spikar det på alla nivåer... maten, Servicen, atmosfären och läget - men Osteria Al Doge gör absolut det. Vi lämnade fullt, glad, och redan talar om att komma tillbaka. Om du är i närheten av Times Square, missa inte detta ställe! ! !

Jag strövade omkring på Manhattan, tänkte på middag, pasta i synnerhet, och snubblade över en restaurang på Times Square. Älskade atmosfären, Servicen och måltiden. Jag åt en skål minestronesoppa — full av grönsaker — och tagliatelle bolognese — båda var goda. Denna restaurang är nu på min korta lista för återbesök på framtida resor till NYC. Vi bodde på The Chatwal bara uppför vägen och åt här två nätter under vår vecka i New York.

Jag åt en pre - matiné lunch här med en vän - och det var den lätt bästa italienska maten jag har ätit i NYC! Vi delade Fritto Misto som förrätt och sedan åt en av oss Kalv Scalopini och den andra Citron Sole - båda gudomliga. Tillagad till perfektion. Servicen var oklanderlig - och ett särskilt tack till vår servitör Tiago, som var på toppen av allt, och en fröjd att prata med - vi kände oss mycket sett och speciellt! Också vi möttes av ägaren med värme och ett stort leende! Skulle starkt rekommendera denna restaurang, och vi kommer att gå tillbaka många fler gånger!

Ett bra fynd i teaterdistriktet. Även om platsen var mycket upptagen vi kände aldrig stressade och kunde ha en härlig middag innan teatern. Trevlig vinlista, massor av val för middag och utmärkt dessert meny. Vi hade fritto misto som förrätt och det var enormt! Pastor var läckra grillade calamari var stor också.

Vi åt middag efter en fredagskväll på Belasco Theater tvärs över gatan. Vi satt omedelbart, personalen var mycket professionell och informativ om menyn och maten var utmärkt. Prova Franciacorta på menyn. Ett fantastiskt brut mousserande vin som passar bra ihop med . skaldjursförrätt (grillad bläckfisk) och linguinen med musslor och vitlöksvinsås och laxravioli förrätter. Det är en liten , autentisk norditaliensk restaurang och det var inte alls bullrigt för en after - teater middag.

Jag hade varit här förut och högt värderad. Ägaren eller greeter är fortfarande lika olycklig som förra gången. Min server var bra och försökte mycket hårt. Citronkycklingen var torr och överkokt. . med så många ställen att välja mellan skulle jag inte återvända.

Osteria al Doge är en av mina favorit lunchställen i staden. Menyn är fantasifull, och har något för alla - - alla gamla favoriter (som är läckra, förresten) , och några nyare alternativ (dito) . Den grillade bläckfisken är otrolig; räkrisotton är utsökt, och servicen är helt rätt. Och naturligtvis, de är smack dab mitt i teaterdistriktet, vilket gör dem till en bra plats för pre - teater lunch på matiné dagar, eller en post - teater drink (på matiné dagar) eller en pre - teater middag. Från ingången till måltiden den autentiska känslan av restaurangen var fantastisk. Mat val var stor och service och uppmärksamhet av personalen var toppflygning. Det var uppenbart att detta var en favorit hos lokalbefolkningen.

Denna italienska restaurang var nära mitt hotell i NYC så det var ett bekvämt ställe att ha en måltid. Det är inte en stor restaurang och ganska populär, så bäst att göra en bokning. Bra service och utmärkt mat! Pizza är italiensk - stil, vilket innebär inte så många pålägg... men utmärkt smak! Pasta var också mycket bra! Jag skulle definitivt besöka denna restaurang igen på mitt nästa besök i NYC. 👍

Vi kom på denna restaurang av en slump och det var en underbar upplevelse! Bra var bra och servicen (vår servitör var Omar) var utmärkt!

Först och främst är maten riktigt bra. Som européer bor vi nära Italien och har till och med familj som bor där, så vi kan nog utvärdera italiensk mat något... och vi måste säga, mycket bra, kvalitativ och färsk mat. Även pastan är nygjord. 

Men läge och god färsk mat kommer med ett pris ur kurs. 

Allt går så fort och vi hade verkligen känslan av att de vill tjäna så mycket pengar som möjligt på så kort tid som möjligt. 

De frågar i förväg om du har bokat en Broadwayshow eller inte, för i så fall får du förtur i köket för att hinna i tid till showen. Vilket är bra, men om man inte har någon show bokad känns det verkligen som att de vill ha ut en innan nästa pass börjar. 

Efter en timme tvivlade vi på att få några desserter eller inte, och plötsligt kommer servitören och lägger räkningen på bordet och säger att vi kan ta det lugnt men då är räkningen redan här om vi vill betala. . . vilket uppenbarligen kändes lite konstigt och som ett resultat hade vi inga desserter längre och bara betalade och gick ut. 

Det var ett abrupt och konstigt slut på en bra restaurangmåltid för oss.
