Had an amazing time celebrating my birthday at one of my favorite sushi chef’s restaurants! The sushi was meticulously prepared and absolutely perfect, as always. It’s such a pleasure dining here every time. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates top-notch sushi and a great experience!

I've been to several Michelin Star omakases and Chef Ichimura's sushiya is hands down my best experience yet. When you walk in, you can't help but be impressed by the beautiful hand cut Japanese cedar counter. The chef was so welcoming, friendly, interactive and gracious. The food was outstanding! The Uni and caviar dish lives up to the hype and the double layer tuna nigiri are a delectable treat. The service was top notch and was always where they needed to be and when. This omakase is worth the steep price and a standout among a sea of Michelin sushiya in NYC.

It’s a very nice omakase experience for us. We were greeted and sit in front of the chef’s table. We all sit in pairs (4 pairs) and we enjoy a really nice food. The fish is very fresh and the chef cuts it in front of us. They also recommend some nice sake. And one of the couples is celebrating their birthday and bought a really nice sake for everyone in the room.

The uni served in a crakers was so good. The fish are spectacular and they also make the wasabi fresh and tasty. I also tried the snail, which I never tried and a bit squimish, but I tried it anyway and turns out really delicious.

Though there’s a little thing that I don’t fancy, there’s a female waiter and most of the time only talk and explain the food to my bf or talk next to my bf. But when other server come, they always come in between us and explain to both of us. It’s weird but I never experienced this in any fancy place, as they always explain the food to both people.

Also, (I’m sorry chef) but he talks really quiet. I couldn’t really hear when he explains. 🥲

Other than the inconvenience, the place is great and would say that it is one of our favorite omakase places we visited.

Best meal (besides l’abeille 😉) 2024 .   It was such a lovely birthday dinner and we definitely be back very shortly.  Chef Ichimura was adorable and magical; he even made my birthday cake.  Service is superb!!  We love sommelier Meagan’s recommendations (from l’abeille to Sushi Ichimura)  … yum yum yum
