Jag såg verkligen fram emot att tillbringa tid här. När vi kom fram till 5 : 30 för vår bokning, en man satt i lobbyn, slumrande, inte riktigt säker på vad han sa men, han sa, kök fel, stängd... komma tillbaka om 20 minuter.

Denna upplevelse kändes av, och verkligen besvärande. 
Hoppas jag känner för att försöka igen och det blir bättre. Vad som helst skulle vara det. Löjligt!

Jag hade sett fram emot att åka hit väldigt länge, i samband med ett besök på Sleep No More. När SNM förlängde sitt uppdrag efter att ha meddelat att de skulle stänga visste jag att det var nu eller aldrig. Det visade sig att det verkligen INTE VAR nu eller aldrig eftersom den stängningen har förlängts ett halvdussin gånger nu. 
Jag skyller dock vår dåliga erfarenhet på vad vi trodde var den nära förestående stängningen av SNM. Det är det enda sättet jag kan förstå att menyn har så få alternativ på sig jämfört med vad en normalt fungerande restaurang skulle ha eller ens vad deras meny visade på nätet. Jag tror det fanns en fiskförrätt, en hamburgare och en kycklingsmörgås på middagsmenyn? Jag minns inte exakt men det var underväldigande. Personalen hade ennui av människor som visste att deras arbetsdagar där var numrerade, och även om maten var tillräckligt bra för mycket oinspirerade erbjudanden, det var bara totalt sett en “meh” upplevelse. Pommes fritesen var dock mycket goda.

Att gå in i denna takrestaurang på McKittrick Hotel känns som att du har kommit till en grönskande oas. Vår grupp blev förvånad när vi gick över simulerade järnvägsspår och tog oss till ett bord inuti en urholkad järnvägsvagn. Vi kom i tid för solen att gå ner och för de blinkande ljusen i restaurangen att glöda på natten. Denna plats är en minnesvärd upplevelse runt. Maten var ganska bra, men inte blind - blåser. En av våra vänner observerade att måltiden påminde honom om middagsteaterns kvalitet, vilket är passande, eftersom restaurangen är förknippad med teatern i byggnaden. Med det sagt skulle jag besöka denna restaurang igen.

Jag hade stora förhoppningar på denna plats men i stället hade vi en fruktansvärd upplevelse. Vi åkte dit för brunch. Jag kontrollerade menyn kvällen innan och det fanns ingen indikation på en fast meny. Personalen på gatunivå var trevlig men hostess var oförskämd och snobby. Hon berättade för oss att menyn är $ 60 per person fast och när jag berättade för henne var det ingenting om det på nätet var hon som jag inte vet. Hon kunde inte bry sig mindre. Platsen var tom och det väntade ingen efter oss så hon var inte bråttom, men hon sa till oss: "så vad är det? Drycker eller ner" medan hon pekade fingrarna mot bar och hiss. Hon ville bara ha oss därifrån.
Värdinnor är framsidan av restauranger när de inte är välkomna och inte bryr sig, vad förväntar du dig från resten?
Barområdet har inte heller sittplatser eller utsikt.

Min syster och jag hade brunch här morgonen efter att vi deltog i Sleep No More. Det var ett roligt sätt att tillbringa mer tid "i den världen", diskutera våra erfarenheter från kvällen innan, och naturligtvis ha en utsökt måltid i en takstuga som ser ut som om den kom från en annan tid. Tjänsten var oklanderlig och måltiden var fantastisk! Jag skulle gärna gå tillbaka på sommaren men vi hade en fantastisk upplevelse på vintern lodge.

Med tanke på prispunkten och atmosfären i denna restaurang var jag ganska imponerad att ha personal synligt prata med varandra och skratta åt mig för att fråga om några saker kunde göras vegan. Menyn hade en vegan alternativ (en sallad) och jag frågade bara om de kunde göra en pizza utan ost. Det finns tydligen inga ändringar tillåtna på menyn och det är också uppenbart hilarious att fråga! Extremt oprofessionellt, särskilt någonstans med en sådan pretentiös atmosfär. Kommer aldrig tillbaka och skulle inte rekommendera.

Rooftopbrunch med levande musik och en buffé med ett bra utbud av mat. Salman var lite kall men allting var på punkt. Våffel- och omelettstationen var min fru favorit. Jag har också haft våfflor och stekt kyckling. Emma vår server var fantastiskt, mycket uppmärksam, vänlig och åtnjöt konversation. D-kärnan på taket är något du skulle se ut ur en New York-film. Bokningar gjordes två dagar före utan problem. Kosta 50 per person och inkluderar gottgörelse som verkar rimligt.

Vi gick på jakt efter bara lunch men snubblat på söndagsbrunchbuffé. Maten urval var stor. Väl kryddat, utbud och bra levande musik. Vänta personalen kunde definitivt vara mer uppmärksam på att fylla vatten ect men totalt sett kan jag definitivt se överklagandet av detta. Hotellet har också en mycket intressant historia.

Vi gick precis 5 - 22 - 19 och hade lyckligtvis en reservation. Uppriktigt sett ser jag inte tecknet. Dryckerna var dyr. Trädgården var inget spektakulärt förutom att det var nära ett antal kändislägenheter. Tjänsten var hemskt. Vi beställde drycker och väntade 20 minuter för att de skulle levereras. Maten är genomsnittlig bar mat. Buspojken som var mycket uppmärksam och general manager var mycket hjärtlig när vårt kreditkort inte gick igenom på grund av deras programvara fel. Han gav oss också en festlig drink för min granddogs-examen. Om du inte vill berätta för någon att du gick här, var det verkligen inte värt tiden.

Jag hade hört talas om den här baren från ett chansmöte med någon som bor i New York och lyckades hitta den från hennes beskrivning. På toppen av ett hotell är denna takterrass öppen för elementen, så det är bra för varmare månader. På söndagar serverar de brunch som är ett fast pris, med cocktails laddas extra. Vi valde att ta upp detta erbjudande och det var ett stort urval av mat, från granola och yoghurt, french toast, frukter, fisk, kött och sallader och till och med en helt sugande gris, om du gillar det här saken! Våra servitören Jonathan var jättekul och mycket uppmärksam och cocktailen var fantastisk - oerhört sova inte mer!
