Flera vänner och jag hade kommit till New York City över dagen för att se men främst för att gå på Met (mitt första liveframträdande) den kvällen. En annan vän hade rekommenderat ViceVersa som en restaurang nedlåtande av lokalbefolkningen. 

Restaurangen var förvånansvärt lägre beläggning när vi kom. Det var en lördagskväll och sittplatserna var ganska trånga, vilket jag undrade över. Vi var dock där mindre än en halvtimme innan varje utrymme var fyllt. Och det var inte mycket senare än så för mig att ta reda på varför. 

Maten var fantastisk! Jag försökte spela det lugnt med såsen som täckte köttet jag beställde, men efter ett tag använde jag helt enkelt brödet som åtföljde måltiden för att fånga varje saftig, läcker droppe! 

Servitrispersonalen var artig och även gjorde allt de kunde för att hjälpa mig och min rullator när vi navigerade ut från den fullständiga restaurangen. 

Jag vill definitivt återvända till den här restaurangen nästa gång jag är i New York!

Min pojkvän och jag bor tvärs över gatan så att V / V lätt skulle kunna bli en "standby". Aldrig. Alla restauranger i hela världen, varför har vi aldrig varit här. Jag antar att svaret är platsen? Beläget på West 51 street mellan 8: e och 9: e Avenue är någonstans vi aldrig tänkt på att våga oss till. American Express skickade en kort lista över restauranger i området. när vi bodde på NY London hotell för middag. Eftersom vi tidigare provat de flesta restaurangerna beslutade vi att ta en promenad på en vacker kväll och se vad Vice Versa handlade om. Så snart vi gick genom dörren visste vi att vi hittade en pärla. Restaurangen var upptagen med en måttlig ljudnivå för en onsdag kväll och vi hälsades och sitter snabbt. När vi eskorterades till vårt bord kunde vi inte märka några av de rätter som konsumeras. Vad vi gillar var borden inte överfulla. Menyn innehöll nattens specialerbjudanden och säsongens vanliga rätter. Cocktail- och vinlistan var intressant och inte överväldigande. Efter att ha kopplat av med en cocktail beställde vi middag som serverades till oss i en lugn tidsperiod som vi har haft. Förrätten var intressant och kan dela. Vi försökte bläckfisk med stekt kronärtskockor. Pastor fanns tillgängliga i halva delar så att vi kan prova ett par olika. Vi valde en pasta med ärtor och en med med svamp. Vi följde detta med en havsabborre den tillagades till perfektion. Öken ett måste. Tjänsten var uppmärksam men inte irriterande.

Rekommenderas av en väns dotter så vi gick tidigt innan ett lek. Lör ut tillbaka i trädgården, som var super tyst och mycket trevligt. Tjänsten var utmärkt (David) som var mat och vin. Egentligen så bra gick vi tillbaka igen nästa natt. Skulle definitivt rekommendera. Inte super snygg eller dyr, bara i den söta fläcken av bra gjort (fina dukar uppsättningar inuti) och bekvämt.

Vi hade en fantastisk måltid på ViceVersa. Vi började kvällen på deras vackra bar, där de har happy hour, halvt prisade cocktails på fredagar mellan 4 och 8. Sedan satt vi ner till en underbar måltid. Pastan med anka ragout var fantastisk, och Branzino var fantastisk. Vi planerar definitivt att återvända till denna utmärkta restaurang.

Detta var inte din traditionella familj NYC italienska restaurang (som jag älskar för posten.) Det var modern gourmet men inte stuffy eller pretentiös. Det var en rekommendation från en främling, och det visade sig vara en vinnare! God mat, bra service och en vacker plats att äta. Jag borde ha beställt en pastarätt, alla hemlagad, liksom alla andra jag mats med. Svärdfisken jag beställde var bra, men inget särskilt. Alla andra älskade sin måltid.

Vänner rekommenderade denna restaurang för vår resa till NY. Det var lite ur vägen, men omvägen var värt det!
Lunchmenyn var rimligt prissatt och och hade trevliga val. Som aptitretare hade vi fänkål soppa och aubergine cannoli. Båda var utmärkta. Jag är vanligtvis inte ett stort fan av fänkål men soppan var mer blomkål och utmärkt.
För huvudrätten hade min fru ankan ragou strazzopretti, absolut läckra! Och jag hade deras signaturrätt, Casoncelli, ravioli fylld med en eklektisk blandning av kalvkött och andra ingredienser. Smaken var subtil men fantastisk.
De har också en trevlig vinlista, men vi fastnade med karaffen av Montepuliciano Abrruzo
