The mushroom pate was so creamy and savory. Excellent dish. The eggplant carbonara was also great, but it was more tangy or acidic than I thought it would be.

The tagliatelle was superb in flavor and had a variety of textures, which made it even more interesting. The rigatoni was generous with its guanciale, but it unfortunately did not suit our palate.

The date cake was also outstanding, as so many others have mentioned. The coconut ice cream was not as sweet but just as indulgent. Every spoonful was a surprise. Both desserts are generous, so I'd recommend sharing them if possible.

I really wanted to like this place but I found it lacking food wise. The best things we got were the mushroom pâté (which was more like pâté with truffle), golden beets, halibut, toffee cake and panna cotta. We also got the anchovie crostini, tempura squash, sour dough as apps. The tempura squash was very vinegar forward (I like vinegar and this was a lot) and the whipped ricotta and pomegranate didn't quite balance it out enough. For mains, the bison was okay. We ordered two duck dishes, one was slightly overcooked and dry but the other was cooked perfectly. The side salad that came with the bison and duck were both very salty (possibly the dressing?), we couldn't eat it. The campanelle pasta came out 5 minutes after everyone else had their dish and of course we wait until everyone has their meal before eating. The pasta was cooked unevenly where some bites were very soft and some hard. We also had the passion fruit sorbet which was fine and the cold brew coffee. Overall for the price, personally didn't think it was worth it and found the food to be very inconsistent. However the ambience was nice and the employees helpful and pleasant.

This was the second time came here, food was amazing!
We had 3 small plates and 1 large ( forgot to take a pic)
1. ARCTIC CHAR CRUDO ( fish) sour, sweet,tender of the fish, one scoop all flavors blast into your mouth.
2. MUSHROOM PATÉ 100% reviewers and staff recommend, its like mushroom cream cheese, one bite so satisfying!!
3. GOLDEN BEETS I never had that kind of flavor before. I was not sure I like it or not at the very first and second try, after I had candied walnuts, I love it!
Large plate we had a MAGRET DUCK BREAST, came with fries. I enjoyed each bite of the duck meat!
Dessert we had STICKY DATE CAKE, must try! sweet but not that sweet, sea salt balanced the sweet part, love it love it!

Overall, 10/10, friendly staff, amazing food, ambient also amazing!   I'll be back!

With so many options in nyc we find ourselves usually looking for new places rather than going back to somewhere we’ve tried. THIS is the exception, we take every visitor we have to this spot for their weekend brunch. The best French toast I’ve ever had?! And the Turkish eggs are amazing. Also recommend the fresh squeezed OJ & the biscuits.

Quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve had in my 4+ decades on this planet! Every single bite that touched my tongue was better than the last. I highly recommend sitting at the chef’s table! Chef Kone engaged us throughout our entire experience. He answered any questions we had, told us a little about his background and even sent over a little snack for us to try. Chef Kone was also so kind and super friendly. He even came around the counter to hug us before we left…so sweet!
The lighting, noise level and decor were perfect. I’m an interior designer so you know I was paying attention. The simplicity of the wood, steel and brick accents were a great choice.
Let’s talk about the food! The ‘Market Lettuces’ was pure perfection! The amount of cheese they add to the top sang to me! The golden beets and delicata squash tempura…amazing! While I may have not had much room for dessert, we ordered it anyway. Highly suggest the vanilla panna cotta and coconut sorbet. Both were a dream!
A Birthday card was brought over by our server which the whole staff signed for me! What a great touch! I typically don’t like attention at restaurants for birthdays but this was subtle and classy. The entire staff was welcoming, friendly and the perfect amount of attentive. Thank you so much…can’t wait to come back!

Colonie Är en bra restaurang med en stor meny som ligger i Brooklyn Heights området inte alltför långt från strandpromenaden. Servicen var mycket bra och menyn var fantastisk. Både jag och min vän hade hälleflundran och den var mycket vällagad. Vår servitris gav mycket bra service också.

Jag har varit i Colonie på middag många gånger. Maten är genomgående utmärkt, men ljudnivån är öronaktande. Efter mitt senaste besök är jag klar. Min vän och jag fick ett bord, beställde cocktails och en måltid. Förrätten serverades före cocktails. Dålig. Ostron var bäst, liksom grillad blomkål och fläskkotlett. Men tjänsten var riktigt dålig. För en tisdag kväll var denna restaurang upptagen. Vi var där lite över 2 1/2 timmar. När ett bord leddes ut blev det snabbt ockuperat. Vi hade en bra provtagning av små tallrikar, bläckfisk, lamm mage, bas crudo, svamp paté, morötter, blomkål och en fullständig förrätt av anka frites. Bläckfisk var mycket bra men inte aggressivt kryddad, pläterad snyggt med burrata och radicchio. Lammmagen var grillad och välsmakande men hade ett par över charred bitar. Bas crudo var stjärnan på de små tallrikarna, badat i varmt brunt smör, en vinnande kombination. Svamppaté var av utmärkt konsistens med en uttalad vitlöksträff. Morötter och blomkål var gott om delar, snyggt pläterade och välsmakande. Ankfriterna var utmärkta, anka var perfekt kokt, fett framställd men det supermjuka bröstet är fortfarande ett medium till medium sällsynt, en av de bästa anka rätter någonsin. Frites var också helt krispiga. Efter att ha haft måltiden vet vi nu varför det är en upptagen plats.

Vårt parti på fyra hade en underbar måltid på Colonie. Vi delade 6 små tallrikar (bläckfisk, lamm mage, bas crudo, svamp paté, morötter och blomkål) och följde sedan upp med anka frites. Varje maträtt var enastående, men vi gillade bas crudo och anka, som var mycket öm men ändå hade krispig hud. Det var mycket trångt på en tisdag kväll så jag skulle rekommendera att göra reservationer.

Härlig atmosfär och intressant mat. Fazzoletti med burrata var särskilt trevligt. Cocktails lägger till en snurr till middagen och är definitivt en av höjdpunkterna på denna plats.

Vi ville vara i Brooklyn i solnedgången och bokade kolonin.

Vi anlände tidigt och såg det var packat och leds till en pub för en drink tills vår bokning. Därefter gick vi för att ta bilder från solnedgången vid piren och gick sedan 10 minuter till restaurangen.

Det var efter 8 pm och fortfarande surrande med en yngre publik. Vi fick en plats i baren och beställde lite vin. Vinlistan är bara underbart. Sedan tog vi till ett bord i slutet av restaurangen.

Mat menyn är komplex men begränsad och ingen av aptitretare kallas vår uppmärksamhet. Vi fick äntligen Fazzoletti (blå krabba, burrata, sorrel, serrano chili) och bison burger (ruffle aioli, comte ost, rosmarinfries)
som elnät.

Alla ingredienser var färska och av stor kvalitet. Burgeren var smaskiga och ganska fyllning. Pastan var lite liten, och till min smak, inte exakt al dente. Ändå var den full av härliga smaker.

Vi bestämde oss för att ha ett glas Tokaj-vin och en efterrätt, jag. e. en chokladkräm och glass och båda var fantastiska.

Tjänsten var bra, men du kunde se dem kämpa och köket kan inte tillgodose alla gäster.

Totalt sett hade vi en bra tid och haft vår middag.

Vi kombinerade ett besök på 911 Memorial (definitivt värt att se) till en snabb tunnelbana jaunt till Brooklyn Heights. Vi hittade Colonie på TripAdvisor och medan det kan finnas många bra ställen längs Atlantic Avenue i Heights, tvivlar jag på att det finns bättre eller roligare. En går in i den upptagna baren där människor också äter, och vår reservation var hedrad omedelbart och med ett varmt leende. Det finns en eklektisk buzz snabbt synlig, med en sofistikerad yngre och äldre foodie vibe. Vi valde att sitta vid kockens bord, mycket roligt, där vår Elfenbenskustfödda kock delade många kulinariska tips. Chef, Jared Braithewaite, har en magisk touch med ovanliga smaker, ingredienser och kombinationer. Han är Toronto - född, och vi bor där så senare skakade vi hans hand och gjorde en snabb vänlig, Toronto geografi chatt. Det finns en omfattande vin- och cocktaillista men vi beställde genom glaset och servern kände varje särdrag. En ovanlig kategori täcker apelsinviner och jag beställde den österrikiska Gruner Veltiner följt av Loire Muscadet. Både bra med mat. Det finns så många inbjudande middagstillval och slutligen vi inskränktes ner till sunchokes (aka Jerusalem kronärtskockor, en missnöje); Kocken förberedde dem med tryffel, en olja, svart vitlök och färskt tarragon, som vi bevittnade komma från en behållare som märktes den 15 mars dagen före vårt besök, liksom andra på samma sätt märktes för friskhet. Pastinappar var också elegant prydda: åldrig sherry vinäger, pepparrot och valnöt picada. Utsökt. För en huvudrätt delade vi en Campanelle pasta med peconic escargot, vitlök och pecorino. De okonventionella pastasorterna är färska och husgjorda. Omkring oss hade folket lammmagen, svampen p te, burrata och krabba pasta, en skylträtt. Diners på kockens bord pratar spännande om deras val, även om vi beställde bra och var mycket nöjda. Ökenen, en klibbig dagkaka, åtföljd av en saltad cr fraiche gelato, var den perfekta kombinationen av söt, krämig med ett blygsamt salt-high end. Det var bra. Kan inte vänta med att gå tillbaka. Mina komplimanger till kocken.

Två vid bordet hade fluke. Jag smakade det och det var utmärkt. Jag hade pasta med blå krabba (fazoletti); det hade massor av krabba och extra smak från ost och en hint av värme från Serrano paprika. Jag fick också smaka på spaghettini, en intressant riff på vegetarisk pasta med en sås med en flerskikts smakprofil från tomat, pepperocini och apelsin.

Vi hittade online och thro publicering från Nya Zeeland och reste och kom dit tidigt för lördag brunch och väntade i köen för kolonie att öppna. Har de turkiska äggen de är sublima. En Bloody Mary och en väldigt avslappnad dag efter

Vår parti gick in utan en reservation och var lyckligtvis sitter inom 5 - 10 minuter. Vi hade vegetarianer och köttätare i vår grupp, och alla var nöjda med sitt urval. Mat, atmosfär och service var alla toppklass - vår order ingår lamm mage, socker snap ärter, pasta ($ 25) och en burger ($ 21). Lamm magen var extraordinära och alla disken var mycket väl förberedda. Atmosfären framkallar en känsla av att vara i skogen (växter, ljus och trädekor) och är väldigt trevlig. Totalt sett en utmärkt upplevelse.

Trevligt läge med väl förberedd mat och en intressant vinlista vid glaset. Vi hade snap ärtor med grön gudinna och det var perfekt gjort! Burger var stor och kokta perfekt och Björn fries var skarpa och bra.

Varje gång jag har varit i kolonien har min erfarenhet varit extraordinär. Mat och dryck är exceptionella och menyn ändras alltid, så det är aldrig något att äta här. Personalen praktiserar bara rätt balans av uppmärksam och hands-off. Det är också en behandling att titta på kockarna som de förbereder måltiderna. Jag har alltid en bra tid här och kan inte vänta att gå igen.

Från recensioner samt att noteras av Gayot som en av de bästa restaurangerna för brunch i staden stannade min fru och jag på en lördag tidig eftermiddag. Vi gillade verkligen inredningen och tenor av rummet. Tar en kö från recensionerna vi beställde räkor & grits och jag försökte en av mina favoriter sallad lyonnaise. Vi hade var och en en kopp varmt kaffe och delade en order av kex. Tjänsten var tillräcklig men eftersom rummet var så upptagen ibland kände vi oss övergivna.
Av de två huvudplåtarna var griterna mycket bättre, särskilt med tillsatsen av ägget och träöret svamp. Grits var krämig, räkorna var inte över kokta och svampen lagt till en speciell touch. Salladen stämde ut för att vara lite över komplicerad. Skönheten är Escarols kontrast med det pocherade ägget och lardonsna. Det var en generös del av anka confit toppade gröna men jag hittade bara att det kom i vägen. Detta kan bara vara min egen fördom i spel.
Kakorna var lite torra men smöret och de läckra frukthållarna gjorde dem så mycket bättre. Min största klagomål gällde kaffet. Var och en av oss fick en pressbehållare som jag antar borde hålla minst en kopp och en halv om inte två. Vi fick knappt en vanlig kopp varje och bryggen var lite hård kanske för att inte tillräckligt med vatten användes. Jag skulle vilja komma tillbaka igen när saker är lite mindre hektiska för att se om vår erfarenhet kan vara annorlunda.
