My boyfriend and I had the loveliest time at LaLou. When you walk in, you're immediately greeted by this cozy, intimate vibe. The place is beautifully simple with warm lighting and comfy seats and it just feels really welcoming. The charming garden dining area is a delightful option for outdoor dining in pleasant weather. The team was incredibly accommodating, and everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. The braised short rib, oysters, and black bass were all prepared to perfection, and the chocolate tart dessert was simply divine. The She Wolf bread was a delightful addition, fresh and perfectly baked. When we left, my boyfriend couldn't stop raving about the oysters to his friends! The selection of wine is incredible, featuring a diverse range of natural wines that perfectly complemented our meal. The cocktails were amazing, and the warm hospitality, especially from Hannah, made it a memorable experience. Whether you’re here for a casual hangout or a special occasion, LaLou’s got the perfect vibe. We appreciated every moment and will definitely be back soon. LaLou is a true gem in Prospect Heights!

Stopped here after a day at the museum.  I just wanted some good wine 🍷 and had my sights on this place for a while.
The bartender suggested a great full bodies and I paired it with some olives, cheese, grapes, honey and almonds.  I didn’t come for a meal, just to nosh.  I will definitely get the oyster, next time around.

Excellent food! The squash dish and the tomato salad dish were outstanding. Dessert was one of the best I ever had! Backyard ambiance was very pleasant.

Oysters, crudo, and wine were on point, and so was the service. However, the bread for the cheese plate was almost inedible bc of how hard it was. Olives are a strong licorice taste. Overall great night to share a bottle of wine with a friend!

Amazing food spot in Prospect Heights! Even though they are known for their selection of natural wine, LaLou offers a delicious menu you can’t pass on. Their chicken and mushroom vol-au-vent are must try even though it was quite expensive. I would definitely come back another day to try their wine :)
