Our visit to Il Mulino was nothing short of incredible. The evening began with a refreshing Cima di Conegliano and Coca-Cola, paired perfectly with appetizers like creamy burrata caprese, classic Caesar, escargot, and perfectly crispy calamari.

The squid ink pasta and lobster dishes were highlights, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavors. For mains, the bucatini all’Amatriciana was rich and satisfying, while the 1/2 rack of lamb was tender and expertly seasoned.

Il Mulino sets a ridiculously high standard in fine dining. We have been guests for nearly 3 decades. Each time visit seems to surpass the last. Claudio, Louis and the entire team strive and succeed in making you feel like family! The food quality is top notch! The service is 6 stars! We go every year here to celebrate Christmas and look forward to the entire experience. This year was very different for us. We were not greeted with the enthusiasm we were used to. Much more basic like some other chain type places. Our meals were definitely good but just not the same as years past. The waiter seemed more interested in getting us in and out to collect a check/tip as compared to other years where we felt treated like special guests. We were a party of 5 and we expected to spend money and we did but when we compare the check vs the “rest”. We won’t be back. Unfortunately something has changed here and we will seek out other fine dining going forward.

This has been by far our best experience dining in New York. The owner sat us on a busy night without a reservation, we had drinks while we waited and the food was just perfect. From the homemade bread to the pasta and the in-house made desserts!

Great atmosphere and awesome service, would recommend 100%.
