Absolutely the best pastrami I’ve ever had! Though this spot is touristy indeed, the quality is also unmatched. We arrived around 10am on a Saturday and there was no line to enter the diner. The dining area is spacious and charmingly retro; you order at the counter with your deli ticket, find a seat, and might even end up in the famous spot from When Harry Met Sally!

Remember to bring cash for your visit. The price is on the higher side—$30 for a sandwich—but worth it for the experience in my opinion. The bread isn’t as impressive as the pastrami, but the overall meal makes up for it. The complimentary pickles are also a nice and refreshing side.

As you can expect there is a line, but I can tell you that it is worth the wait. I was worried that I was going to be disappointed by the hypes surrounding the food. I can absolutely say that it was the best pastrami I’ve ever had. The pickles were amazing as well.
Our cutter was Tony, and he was very personable and asked us about our time in New York while he was preparing our food. He even threw in a couple of extra pieces of bread since we were getting it to go since obviously the sandwiches are huge. I highly recommend at least trying their thousand Island dressing. I was simply amazed at How good it was.
You have the option of going directly to a cutter to get your food to go or go into the back to be seated. There’s also another line for sides if you plan on getting food to go. They give you tickets at the door that the cutter or the person providing the sides will Complete and you will pay on the way out. The line is long, but it moves pretty fast considering what it looks like when you get there. It took us about 35 minutes to get inside and it was 3/4 of the way down the block.

This is not one of the most famous Delis in New York for no reason. Their Pastrami Sandwiches are out of this world. We tried both with and without cheese and the cheese option was our favourite. Let the pastrami take center stage and only add some mustard if you like, I personally think that it’s a good addition. The meats are spectacular, and the portion is quite generous. We also tried the Brisket Sandwich and the Corned Beef Sandwich. Both are really good, but the Pastrami is the real deal.
You will get a ticket per person at the entrance, and they will write down there your consumption so you can pay at the end. You will be asked to show all the tickets before living the restaurant.
The atmosphere is fantastic, and the line was not that bad during our visit, we waited less than 15 minutes. If you are a movie lover, don’t miss the spot from “When Harry Met Sally” I really hope you have what Sally (Meg Ryan) had as we did.

Amazing experience at this great deli. It was super busy when we went and the queue was round the block, but it moved quickly. We wanted to watch our meat being cut so we didn’t opt for table service. We ordered one pastrami sandwich between the two of us which was more than enough. It came with pickles too. Safe to say it was the best pastrami we’d ever tasted. Cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth. A must do whilst in NYC!

Worth the wait! The line was down the block but moved quickly. A true New York experience - we will come back when we visit again. The pastrami on rye is outstanding! Huge sandwich and the pickles are great too.
