So... It's a 3.5 rounded up to 4.

I came here looking for Vanessa's and discovered the name had changed but the menu hadn't (prices went up a tad, but it's the pandemic so that's to be expected), so I figured I'd stay and try it.

The woman taking orders/cashier was very nice. Very personable. Service was a tad slow (there was only 1 other customer)... but I wasn't in a rush.

I ordered the spicy vegetable dumplings and a veggie sesame pancake. I also got a honey ginger drink.

My main issue was that the dumplings were just mush. Still tasty, but not as good as the original Vanessa's on Eldridge. Pancake was ok. Just doesn't seem to have the same "oomph" as Vanessa's... which is what I was craving. But it satisfied me.

Worth the little extra trek downtown to the original spot if you have time. But this place is still decent.

Such a good place for cheap, casual delicious dumplings and pancakes. Didnt love the beef noodle soup much but the pan fried dumplings, chili oil wontons, and boiled dumplings were amazing. We got a plain pancake but will be back to try the pancakes with filling.

I would give no stars if I could.. because you served me raw meat.
I got the pork & chive dumplings and the "ja jang" noodles.. the noodles were terrible. Instead of using jajang sauce, they used chunjang for the sauce. Jajang sauce is made by frying chunjang sauce in oil because it is near inedible to eat without being processed, as it has a stale, almost moldy taste to it. Well, these noodles were not even seasoned enough to mask the stale taste, and that is all I tasted next to the bland, barely sauced noodles.
The dumplings were ok at best, and as you can see in the photos, it was mostly dough. The tiny ball of meat in the middle was, as you can see, raw. I am disgusted, because I realized this only after I had eaten the other three. Is this what NYC's standards have gone to? The sanitary grade said A, and this doesn't look very sanitary to me.
I am shocked, appalled, and disgusted. This is the first time I have ever left a google review, but this is a health hazard and should be known to people who are considering eating here. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET FOOD POISONING.

Delicious inexpensive. Small cozy yet gets busy quickly. My favorite are the spicy dumplings covered in red pepper flakes.

I miss Vanessa's dumplings. The pork and chives were not as good as they used to be. I probably would not eat again.
