We came here as a party of 3 around 3:30pm for a very late lunch. Probably because of the awkward meal timing, the restaurant was empty other than 1 other patron. It did seem like a popular take out place based on the number of people we saw walk in and out with their orders. Sidenote: we went in the middle of August and it was VERY hot inside.

Our food came out very quickly and were all delicious. This definitely isn't a fancy sit down place. They take your order, bring out your food, you eat, pay, and leave. But importantly, the food is delicious. For a quick stop and go meal, it was perfect for us. My vegetarin friend had no difficulty finding something to eat.

I don’t know if they just had an off day or what, but our experience was nothing like the rest of the reviews.

Food:
- Nothing like the menu descriptions. For example, the spring roll was supposed to have carrot and mint. It was pretty much just vermicelli noodles, shredded lettuce, and a big slice of tofu. My red curry was supposed to have a variety of vegetables, but it had only peppers and onions.

Cleanliness:
- Disgusting. I don’t know how they have an A rating because we were served cutlery, napkins, and plastic cups that were dirty.

Atmosphere:
- Terribly hot. No AC and the fans don’t work so we were sweating during our meal.

Service:
- Service was friendly, but we asked for new cups and cutlery because they were dirty and they gave us even dirtier cups and utensils.

We are easy to please and this place totally missed the mark. Going downhill.

We visited Mamak and had an amazing experience, thanks in large part to our waiter, Peter. He was extremely accommodating and treated our autistic daughter with great care and respect. His recommendations for our food and drinks were spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. The Thai Red Curry, Roti Planta, and Mango Sticky Rice were incredible, and the Singha beer paired perfectly with our meal.

Peter’s kindness and professionalism made our dining experience memorable, and we are already planning to return every Saturday! Mamak has become our go-to spot for delicious food and outstanding service. Highly recommend!

The food always tasted good . They did a New renovation but  the food and the atmosphere is still amazing. Definitely a must try

We decided to try a different restaurant or bar in the Flatiron / Grammercy / East Village areas after a weekly appointment.

This evening we tried LoveMama.   We were not disappointed.    This no frills, homey and cozy,  south asian eatery had many choices spanning across Thai, Vietnamese and Maylasian food types.

We ordered Lemongrass Chicken, Rendang Lasi Nemak Chicken  and the Roti with curry.  Every meal had a burst of flavor - spices were not skimped on here.

The server was very friendly and kind.  He made you feel like you were in an Auntie's kitchen.

My only pet peeve - I wish that the meals were not served on plastic plates.

We will return to try other dishes.  Highly recommend!
