Such a romantic spot! I love the real candle light.  We did the Chef's tasting menu and wine pairing which was delicious. You will not leave hungry! I loved the scallops. Perfect for a date night, anniversary or birthday celebration.

Amazing place! Great food and drinks, the service is impeccable and they have a stunning decoration.

We celebrated our anniversary here and I'm so glad we did! This restaurant is super romantic and is a perfect location to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed both the service, as well as the food and drinks! The have beautiful roses and candles set at every table - really helps with the romantic mood. Price-wise it was also not over the top expensive, and in my opinion quite worth the experience.

For reservation, make sure to book at least a month in advance and request to sit by the windows if possible. Do mention what special occasion you are celebrating!

Food wise - I especially liked the Beef Wellington - the beef on the inside was tender while the outside crust was flaky to create that contrast texture. The mushrooms in between was super flavorful and created a really nice in-between layer. I honestly thought it tasted better than the Beef Wellington I had in Gordon Ramsey's Atlantic City steakhouse.
My second favorite was the seared foie gras - super tender and given it was served warm, takes away the stickiness in the texture and adds aroma. The Seared Maine Scallops were also pretty good, although pretty typical, and the Lobster risotto was a tad too sticky.
For dessert - I loved loved the Raspberry Napoleon!! It was many layers to the right flaky texture, and fruity and sweet to perfection. The chocolate mousse was also very good, just nothing too out of the world for chocolate lovers.

Drink wise - We ordered a cabernet sauvignon to to add to the celebration atmosphere, and it also went well with the food.

Overall I triple recommend this place for celebrating anniversaries and birthdays, will try to bring my parents here for a future night!

We went here for my husband’s birthday, expecting a romantic and high-end experience. Instead, the service felt entirely unremarkable—almost as if attention to detail wasn’t part of their business model at all.

First, the seating. They placed us at a cramped two-top across from each other, even though there were round tables for two where we could’ve sat side by side—something we would have much preferred. There was nowhere to put my designer bag except the floor, which immediately set the tone for the night.

Then came the food. I made it clear that I’m pescatarian, yet they brought out a chef’s compliment: a quail egg with pancetta. When I asked if they could serve it without, the runner went back to the kitchen—only to return and say they couldn’t. How does that make sense? Just don’t put the pancetta on top. Am I crazy for thinking that’s an easy fix? To make it even more absurd, they only left the dish for my husband and took mine away. Since when do restaurants take food back like that? It was half a quail egg. My husband would’ve eaten it—why waste it?

To be fair, the food itself was outstanding. The branzino was the best I’ve ever had. But for a birthday treat? They gave us two tiny cookies and two pieces of marmalade. Not exactly a grand gesture.

I get the concept. It’s upscale, it’s intimate, it attracts a certain clientele. But let’s be real—$450 for dinner, and nothing about the experience felt special (besides the food). If I’m paying that much, I expect more than just good flavors. There are plenty of places with fresh, delicious food for a fraction of the price and with actual attention to detail. This place wasn’t exclusive or exceptional—it just felt like they knew they could get away with the bare minimum and still charge a premium.

One if by Land, Two if by Sea has a classy menu, a great history, and beautiful decor that makes it very romantic. I took my girlfriend there for our 3 year anniversary. The restaurant was gorgeous and the decor was perfect for those special photos. The dim lighting created a perfeambiance. The food was incredible. The food wine room upstairs is extraordinary. The only minor issue I encountered was with how small the menu was, at best you will feel satisfied after eating meal. I didn’t care because the food I ate was delightful.”
The dessert was special. This is definitely a place you will want to experience.

Romantic Dining at One if by Land, NY Manhattan

Om jag kunde ge 10 stjärnor skulle jag gärna göra det. Restaurangen det är top notch. De har en vacker bar med sittplatser för middagar om du vill. Restaurangbelysningen är perfekt för att skapa en romantisk stämning med en pianist som spelar underhållande musik. Vi är från deras pris fixe meny och det var en utmärkt måltid. Till att börja med åt vi gåslever och tempura squashblomma. Tempurasquashblomman var fylld med hummer och krabbkött. Det var så gott. Till våra förrätter hade jag nötkött Wellington och min flickvän hade ankan. Båda lagades perfekt och leken var perfekt. En utmärkt måltid. Som avslutning på middagen serveras desserträtten cosiste av cremé brûlée och tiramisu. Tiramisun serverades på ett sätt som jag aldrig har ätit tidigare. Den var täckt av en chokladtopp och fyllningen var så sammetslen. Så bra! ! ! Servitören var utmärkt, erbjuder förslag och väl bevandrad med menyn. De tog hand om alla våra matbehov. Vi rekommenderar denna plats.

Efter betydande efterforskningar bestämde vi oss för att fira vår 10-årsdag på OIBL. Från det ögonblick vi gick in, servicen var vänlig och uppmärksam, och vi kände verkligen tas om hand. Vi satt vid ett mysigt bord nära ett fönster, med utsikt över innergårdens trädgård. Atmosfären, mellan den vackra interiören, blommor, pianomusik och levande ljus, var verkligen romantisk och intim. Trots att vara på en liten två - toppen, kände vi oss inte trångt med andra matgäster som så många NY restauranger. 

Vi bestämde oss för att satsa på 10 rätters avsmakningsmeny för att hedra 250-årsjubileet av Paul Reveres ritt medan vi redan splurrar, kan lika gärna verkligen satsa på det! Varje rätt var väl genomtänkt och perfekt utförd - - inga pretentiösa kombinationer eller överraskningar, bara mat du redan hört talas om gjort med extrem känsla för detaljer. Några av våra favoriter var den brynta kammusslan, Dovertunga, och den otroliga rabarbersorbeten och gurkgranita intermezzot (ärligt talat hade jag beställt den sorbeten på egen hand! ). Biff Wellington var också bra (som vi förväntade oss) , men vid denna punkt vi fick så fyllda att jag inte är säker på att vi uppskattade det fullt ut. Eftersom vi inte är stora drickare (eller vinälskare) valde vi att inte göra vinparningen och beställde istället individuella cocktails. Min man hade en Oldest Fashioned (han sa att det var utmärkt) och jag hade en Coupe d'Amour (ett mousserande hallon hopkok) , som var perfekt balanserad och inte alltför söt trots att det är en fruktig drink. Det var så gott att även om jag sällan har mer än en drink, var jag tvungen att ha en annan! 

Vi har hört från några personer som har upplevt avsmakningsmenyer att portionerna är mikroskopiska och de lämnade hungriga - - inte så i detta fall, vi kunde knappt avsluta! Eftersom jag nämnde att det var vår bröllopsdag, fick vi en extra tallrik desserter utöver den rejäla desserträtten. Kurserna var bra tempo och vi var där i nästan tre timmar. Så trevligt att vara i en härlig atmosfär med snäll personal och inte känna att vi var stressade. Vi lämnade helt nöjda och glada över maten, atmosfären, och särskilt den otroliga servicen. Tack till OIBLs personal för en så minnesvärd kväll!

Mitt livs värsta middagsupplevelse — Undvik till varje pris

Om jag kunde ge restaurangen noll stjärnor, skulle jag. Från början till slut var detta en total katastrof. 

Min bokning var 7: 45 pm, och jag kom fram till 7 : 30–15 minuter för tidigt. Istället för ett varmt välkomnande, informerade värden mig oförskämt att de var ”på väg att avbryta” min bokning eftersom jag inte bekräftade via telefon. Vem gör det 2025 ? Jag stod redan vid din dörr. Röd flagga nummer ett. 

Min vän var på besök från London, och jag ville ge dem en fantastisk upplevelse, så jag borstade av detta avskyvärda beteende och försökte njuta av kvällen. Misstag. 

Efter att ha suttit i baren för cocktails (eftersom vårt bord inte var klart) , blev vi äntligen sittande. Servern gav oss bara en vinmeny — ingen matmeny. Okej, visst, jag tänkte att de kanske försökte höja upplevelsen med ett vin - första ansatsen. Fel igen. 

Vi beställde en flaska vin, och när maten kom frågade vi om gluten - gratis alternativ eftersom min vän har kostrestriktioner. Serverns svar? ”Vi har inte gluten - gratis alternativ.” Ingen ursäkt, inga alternativa förslag, bara en avvisande axelryckning. 

Vid det här laget var vi redo att lämna, och när jag tog upp detta till värden, sade de självbelåtet, ”Du skulle ha nämnt det i din bokning.” Ursäkta? För att vara en så kallad ”fine dining” anläggning är din brist på grundläggande artighet och flexibilitet skrämmande. 

Jag var beredd att spendera allt som krävdes för att skapa en minnesvärd kväll, men den fruktansvärda servicen, avvisande attityden och den totala bristen på gästfrihet gjorde det klart att denna restaurang inte förtjänade ett öre. Tack och lov lämnade vi och hittade en fenomenal restaurang som behandlade oss med respekt och faktiskt ville ha vår verksamhet. 

Gör dig själv en tjänst: skippa det här stället. Om du inte tycker om att vara respektlös och besviken, gå någon annanstans.

Superb. GF och jag gick efter den hektiska semestersäsongen. Jag är ganska säker på att jag åt här i början av 90-talet men minns inte pittoreska, baren, de färska blommorna och levande piano. 

Båda oss valde prix fixe 3 - kursmenyn. Det är inte kinkig, avant garde mat med skum, flytande kväve typ rätter. De är solida, vällagad mat och läckra. Kött welington är så gott som annonseras. 

Rekommenderar också deras cocktails. GF beställde en sidvagn som hon sa var den bästa hon haft; det säger mycket eftersom hon samplade versioner från de bästa barerna i London, Paris, SF och Big Apple. 

Priserna är inte billiga, men jag känner att pengarna gick till rätt ställen. Plus att det är Manhattan trots allt.

Vilken fantastisk middag och upplevelse med den tillmötesgående personalen och ledningsgruppen! WOW vi hade en bra tid och exceptionell nötkött Wellington i stan! Jag växte upp med att äta Storbritanniens mest enastående nötkötts- welly och en om landvägen och två om sjövägen slog strumporna av mina fötter med sin löjligt goda nötkötts- welly! Kom dit killar om du är sugen på bra nötkött welly och mer! Mina döttrar njöt av sin kyckling, fiskmjöl och dessert förstås! Men biffen Welly slukade det, min son och jag.

Otroligt! Vi älskade bokstavligen allt vi åt - Bryssel, potatiskroketter, burrata, sellerisallad och cavatelli till att börja med. Burgaren var galen liksom laxen och fläskkotletten. Vi kan inte sluta tänka på denna fantastiska måltid! ! Och hoppa inte över munkarna! !

Mat och atmosfär fortsätter att vara bra. Vi var överdebiterad med nästan $ 200 som restaurangen tog två betalningar från vårt kort. Vi åkte i januari 2023 . Jag skrev och kontaktade två gånger för att få detta löst, ingen tid svarades. Jag flaggade att jag skulle granska om det inte löstes och detta skulle vara den tredje ansträngningen att lösa. Jag tycker att 18 månader och ett antal kontaktpunkter är rimligt, så jag har inget val. Det var inte som $ 750 check för tre var ett lågt värde heller eftersom det är dyrt här. En besvikelse eftersom detta var en av våra "gå till" restauranger när i NYC. Jag försökte.

För de pengar du betalar på denna restaurang förväntar jag mig att all personal ger utmärkt service. Den personal som "hälsar" dig behöver lite utbildning. Bristen på ett leende och ett grymt "lyckligt jubileum" är inte tillräckligt bra. Det var inte så att vi bara fångade dem vid en dålig tid som när vi lämnade restaurangen och frågade om de kunde få oss en hytt, de svarade med ett bestämt 'nej! ”De verkade verkligen inte vilja vara där. Ett annat negativt var att vi inte informerades om att 7-rätters smakmenyn inte var tillgänglig förrän sent i valet av mat. Trots den dåliga början och slutet på kvällen var allt däremellan utmärkt - utmärkt service från vår server och utsökt mat (tonfisk tartare och hälleflundra). Vi var i rummet på övervåningen som var mer intim än huvudrummet och hade en eldstad. För vår kväll fungerade det bra eftersom vi inte hade så hög ljudnivå som i huvudrummet. En trevlig kväll, men ge dina "hälsningar" lite träning och förvänta dig de höga standarderna från dem som kunderna förväntar sig.

Trots att denna restaurang är rankad som mest romantisk i hela staten NY, och den är underbar, var den specialitetcocktail vi beställde omöjlig att dricka. Hemskt, och till 44 dollar för ett glas vin, medioker och en motbjudande drink, var det inte för romantiskt.

Detta historiska gamla vagnshus ligger i västbyn och är platsen att åka till speciella tillfällen (som Zagats rapporter). När du kommer in hälsas du av den personliga Maria och pianobaren. Det senare är ganska trevligt att bara sitta och ta en drink. Det finns några bekväma loungestolar också. Vi har haft prix fix 3-rätters måltid för $ 109 per person. Inte billig och varken är dryckerna men definitivt värt matupplevelsen. Förrätt inc sallad är olika och läckra. Nötkött Wellington, biffar och osso bucco var bäst. Tips: Du kan hitta parkerad parkeringsplats runt hörnet på W 4: e gatan vs att sätta det mycket tvärs över restaurangen.

En if by Land lever upp till förväntningarna igen. Jag har inte varit i området med denna NYC-pärla på ett tag. Från den första hälsningen genom ytterdörren genom en eftermiddagens anda i baren var denna restaurang fantastisk. Bra service, bra mat (nötkött wellington & snapper) och naturligtvis bra atmosfär. Fantastisk tid!

Högsta klass på service och mycket god mat. Vi åt en tre-rätters set menu och njöt av varje tugga. Men det är mycket dyrt.

Min måltid var utsökt, tjänsten var utmärkt och det hade en mycket romantisk atmosfär - tyst med pianomusik spelar mjuk.
Mycket trevligt för ett speciellt tillfälle - lite dyr.

Denna restaurang är fantastisk. Vi reser mycket, och de är en av de bästa vi har besökt. Historien bakom byggnaden är mycket intressant. Alla på personalen är uppmärksam och hjälpsam. Maten är underbar samt läckra. Det är värt vartenda öre.

Vi är från Indy och har tidigare ätit här 3 - 4 gånger under de senaste 20 åren under besök i NYC. Vi ser alltid fram emot kombinationen av atmosfär, mat, service och historia som vimlar här.

Som sagt var vi lite besvikna över vårt besök igår kväll. Maten var lika bra som alltid, men vi fann att vi var tvungna att beställa från en 3-rätters prix fixe ($ 109) men Ala Carte hade varit tillgänglig tidigare. Beviljas det finns mycket att välja från, men vi bryr oss inte lika mycket för denna prissättning när du betalar för 3 kurser om du vill ha dem eller inte. Räkningen för de tre av oss var nästan $ 500 inklusive mat, dryck (1 öl), skatter och gottgörelse.

En annan faktor som sannolikt dämpade vår erfarenhet igår kväll var att det fanns väldigt få beskyddare. . . . bara några bord var ockuperade i 2 timmar vi var där. Du kanske tror att det är bra på grund av det minskade omgivningsbullret och kanske ökad uppmärksamhet från vänta personal, men vi kände oss som om vi äter i en tom restaurang. Vi var där på måndag efter påsken. . . . Vi hoppas det är orsaken till den dåliga uppgången och inte något mer allvarligt.

Våra minnen av tidigare besök på One if by Land är av en mycket speciell plats. Det föll inte på de minnenna igår kväll.
