I've been a Budget Rental car Corp corporate account holder and Fast Break member for close to 15 years and they have gone WAY DOWNHILL! Five out of my last six reservations have been messed up or non-existent when I got there. Today, I waited in the Fast Break line (with 20-30 other people) for over 1.5 hours. When we finally got helped and assigned a car, everyone came back saying the car was gone. My truck that I reserved had a guy in it when I got to the stall. They rented the same vehicle to both of us confirmed by the license plate number and he drove off with the last truck, so I'll be hauling garbage in their brand new Jeep wagoneer. Very very very sad in this day and age. I purposely did not give budget/ Avis a bad review prior since they've been so good for years. But there has definitely been a change and they have lost my business and loyalty.

As if it could get any worse... well, it has, unfortunately. Over three weeks have passed since we returned the car and I literally just received a demand for almost 500 dollars worth of damage to the car. What? First of all, we noticed how crappy the car was when we were on the freeway and after two hours of attempting to get this car, the last thing we wanted to do was to return it. Second, they give you the car in a dark parking garage. How are you supposed to see, for example, that the fender was a little messed up? Luckily it's caught (sort of) on video that we had taken just in case some kind of nonsense like this turned up. Third, they are trying to get my car insurance info, which I had given them upon renting the car and I also added the BS additional insurance so I have no idea what this is all about. Mind you, nothing in the email I received stated exactly what the so-called damage was to the car (and why wasn't this mentioned upon return of the vehicle?) I am appalled by their business practices. I honestly haven't had so egregiously terrible an interaction with a company since Budget.

Car had a check engine light and red turtle appear. We pulled over on the side of the highway and called roadside assistance. They said we could uber back to get another car. There were no Ubers, and no vehicles available. They wouldn't authorize us to rent with someone else. They literally offered no solution to stranding us.

Waited over an hour at the airport Budget to pick up our reservation. Over half of the positions at the counter were unmanned.....no excuse. Suggest you use one of the other car rental at CTL.

Twice within 4 months I waited more than 45 minutes in line - with DOZENS of other people. Budget is consistently understaffed and lines are slow. This happened in both Syracuse NY and Charlotte NC

Terrible. I will never use them again. The wait to pick up the car in Charlotte was over 3 hours..../that's just standing in line! They did not have enough staff to handle the cars that they had rented! The worst experience with a car rental company ever!

This review is really more for the Budget Car Rental company as a whole more than it is for the specific location but it is at this location where my frustration starts. My mom and I flew into Charlotte with reservations for a car only to find out there were no cars available. It took us a while to arrive at that conclusion. I stood in one long line only to find out it was the wrong line. My mom stood in another line that was even longer that was also wrong. That is where we first heard that there may not be any cars available. We got down stairs and in the right line and confirmed the lack of cars. There must have been at least 200 people waiting for cars that Budget could not deliver on. We checked with a couple of other companies that were also out of cars. Budget was the only one with a line so long. The others were not busy at all. What I learned from this is that car rental companies are quick to overbook and even quicker to take your money. So, as I sat there in the airport car rental center I canceled my reservation and waited for my cousin to pick us up. Two days later I received an email saying I was being charged $50 for not canceling 24 hours before hand. How the hell was I supposed to know the day before that THEY would not have a car for me. So I called, got very frustrated, and complained. This led to the only good thing in this whole ordeal. The lady I spoke with was understanding, looked into my claims, and issued me a refund of the $50 they should never have stolen from me in the first place. Never again, Budget. Never again.

I rented my vehicle from the Budget at the MCO airport in Orlando. If you choose to rent a car with them, review the contract thoroughly and ask questions before signing. Their staff will not voluntarily explain the nuances between their different offerings. For example, they have two different E-Toll options for their vehicles. A standard option (pay for the tolls that you incur and a small convenience fee on the days you incur them) and an unlimited option (pay a flat rate every day of your rental regardless if you go through tolls). The staff member that finalized my reservation simply asked me, "do you plan on using the toll unit in the vehicle?" to which I responded, "Yes." I had no idea at the time there were two different toll programs. He then proceeded to sign me up for their E-Toll Unlimited program and I was hit with a hefty fee at the end of my reservation. Be careful!
