We rented from Carolina Rent a Car and I left a very special item in the vehicle. While I wasn't 100% sure that's where I lost it, I went by any way to check. It hadn't turned up at that point...I left my number and a description of the item. After a week I was sure it was lost forever but two weeks later I got the call!! They had recovered it while cleaning the vehicle. Their honesty and integrity goes such a long way. We will absolutely rent again!! Thank you

the biggest scam of all time they are ,looking and seeking ways to capitalize off the customers cars are dirty and wrecked when you get them but then they try and charge you for the damage that was already there!!!!! im looking to get a lawyer right now as we speak because this company is straight up bullshit.... mike is nasty and a liar, matt maybe the only one with good customer service. curt just there for a check he see the damage and still dont say shit but cosign that it is new because he afraid of mike...... please if you know what i know dont mess with them or you will need a lawyer just like me

THE WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY IN CHARLOTTE!!!! THEY LIE AND STEAL FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! THEY DO NOT HAVE UNLIMITED MILES!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! They first tried to charge me extra money when I returned the car because they said that I went over the mileage even when the rental contract said that it was unlimited miles. Then they charged me a higher weekly rate for the following weeks because they said that even though it's unlimited miles I was driving their cars too much. I will be contacting the BBB because they are VERY inconsistent in their business practices and charge people differently based on OBVIOUS factors. Their cars smell like WEED when you pick them up. One of the cars I rented had horrible brakes that you could hear screeching from around the block. WEEKS after returning my car they're still trying to charge my card in random increments. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!

Came here after the Hertz on N. Tryon completely screwed us over. All the people at this store are extremely nice. I felt like I was dealing with real people, there were no scripted conversations or responses. They explained everything about renting a car very thoroughly and the car that we got was extremely clean and way better than I thought it was going to be. The price for 1 week with 7 people was actually even more affordable than Hertz was. I have no complaints about this company. I definitely recommend this company over any corporate rental franchise.

I needed a rental car in a pinch and was able to get a car same day at an affordable rate. The owner, Mike, is a great guy. He's extremely helpful and always puts the customer first. Thank you so much for a great experience! I would recommend Carolina rent a car to anyone.

do not rent from this low budget rental company their office is in a single wide trailer thats sad because i heard they been in that trailer for over 20 years. they false advertising that they offer unlimited miles and they dont they scamming people like they do and when you go over 150 miles per day they penalize you & charge you $0.75 per mile after that. that manager mike is one nasty smart mouth joker that act likes he runs the place and he dont hes a worker on payroll. shut the vehicle down on me knowing i had surgery that day was nasty work. took my services right to enterprise at least their more professional and they truly honor their unlimited miles package. they will stalk you all day on gps tracking/ watch your every moves when you go over milage which is a breach of privacy. wished someone wouldve warned me before i gave them a single dime. now you have been warned do not rent from this company they have a very bad reputation around town. complaining about the car being parked all day at a rest stop when it clearly says on my rental contract that i work for a trucking company. i guess he thought i was homeless sleeping in the vehicle or something smh reading and comprehension is key should read my paperwork before making a fool of yourself. do not rent from this place you have been warned

Rented a car recently and it seemed like a good deal. Had a flat tire and there was no jack! Had to spend time trying to teach someone that could get a jack and come to me to put the spare on. The worst part is the customer service is beyond horrible. The manager Mike hung up on me twice because he was the only person working. Also Kurt/Kirk was the other incredibly rude person. So the spare tire also went flat. At that point I was unable to drive the car to return it or to the gas station so I was originally charged a $75 pick up fee which they did take off and$15 a gallon for gas. Now if I couldn't driven the car to get gas it would've been on a full tank and there wouldn't have been a need to pick it up. Mike told me that it was kind of like "rogue justice" whatever that means that he was charging me for the gas but not the pick up fee and waived a days charge. That seemed logical since I couldn't drive the car and was told that my rental reservation had been terminated. They look at you and treat you as if you're less than or beneath them. Not friendly at all from beginning to the end. During the walk through at pick-up the guy showed me all of the cigarette while in the seat and told me that I would be charged a fee per burn hole. Good thing I don't smoke. If you want to be treated like a second class citizen then these are your guys. I regret the day I walked into that business. No personality no friendliness no customer service. They may have been robots. Don't ruin your day dealing with them.

We always rent a 15 passenger van during July because we take our kids to Florida, but for some reason or another you can hardly find 15 passenger vans anywhere!!! Not only did they have them it was much more affordable than any other place that actually had them and was price gorging!!! Mike and Keith was so nice!!!! To me customer service is always the biggest thing, so to have what I need when I needed and have great customer service was everything to me!!! I went back a week after that and it was the exact same. I definitely will be renting from them going forward

I've have rented from Carolina rent a car before in the past. They are very reasonable and typically very kind and professional. Easy transaction! On Wednesday I called in to rent a nv 200 on the phone I asked for Wednesday- Saturday 11am drop off. I was told it was $59 a day. Mike then asked if I had full coverage or liability. I responded with "liability currently" he then said it will be $71 a day with a $100 deposit so you're looking at $300. I said ok! Is that taxes ect, he says yes. I come pick up the vehicle I read over the contract they have you sign in order to rent stating no driving out of unauthorized states no unauthorized drivers ect in its entirety & I sign. The next thing is getting my contract which was folded up in a pamphlet & asses the car for current damages ect. The guy who gave me the keys says we'll see you back Friday I said, no it's supposed to be Saturday at 11. He said oh I'm sorry I thought I saw Friday. We'll see you Saturday. Today I got a charge for $79. So I called to inquire why, Kirk gets on the phone trying to tell me what my contract says and what the prices are. I advised to him and Mike, I understand the prices, that has nothing to do with the verbal agreement that was made on a recorded line. I double checked on the phone and at the counter that my rental was until Saturday at 11. So no, I didn't feel the need to open the pamphlet as I should trust the word of the persons operating the business. Mike was very rude & unprofessional as I'm trying to remind him of the conversation and only talking to me about my contract. When I only called to make sure it was just the charge for today and no other charges since technically this has been now a late return. That question was not answered due to the very nasty demeanor given on the phone. Instead of acknowledging what was said, and following up with the contract there was no responsibility taken for the verbal agreement that was made. For this reason I could never recommend or rent here again which is a surprise and really sucks because prior to this I have loved this company. But the initial take on addressing my confusion was very unprofessional & displayed poor customers service. Meaning, accountability is not a priority to them.
