This was an amazing experience! The Charlotte Hornets is a very respectable organization. The food here was absolutely delicious. Especially in the suites, where there is pizza, wings, and salad. The court side food is also scrumptious. Dipping Dots, cotton candy, and the T-Shirt toss are some of the many things that your children can enjoy. Totally recommend!

Getting to sit courtside next to all the player is great you can hear everything they say. Just make sure you grab something to eat having a lounge access is probaly the best way without having to stand in line for a while.

Hornets games are always a blast, whether you're a huge basketball fan or not. Be prepared to walk a bit. Pro tip: measure your bag if you're carrying one. New restrictions prohibit entry with medium and large bags. You don't want to walk alllllll the way back to your car!

Been here for games before, I like it. Expensive but decent food options (as expected at sports events) and the bars have decent drinks with nice bartenders. I'm always content with the seats, no matter where you sit you get a good view of the court. Other than that, the staff is a hit or miss. They need new security guards though...one woman wouldn't let my partner and I enter through one of the sections, made a big deal because we had a seat that was a "low number"...even though it could be accessed through either side? Went back out alone and came back her way and she let me through no problem. Weird. Inconsistency in rules?

It's always nice when the home team wins! The organization has done a lot to enhance the fan experience. I thought they did a really good job to make the fans feel like they really support the team, especially where this team used to be in the past, even though they may not be the winningest team, it doesn't feel that way sitting in the stand. Great job!

I was born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, so by default, my favorite NBA team growing up was the Charlotte Hornets. After following Tim Duncan's career closely at Wake Forest (my parents are Wake alum and we were season ticket holders), I became a diehard San Antonio Spurs fan. Living in Atlanta for the last 20 years, I've become an Atlanta Hawks fan as well. I guess you could say Charlotte is now my third-favorite NBA team, but they'll always have a special place in my heart. The Hornets teams I have the fondest memories of were the teams with Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Dell Curry, and Hersey Hawkins (early to mid 90s). Muggsy Bogues was one of my favorite players at the time. Not only was he a Demon Deacon, but to this day, he remains one of the shortest players to ever play in the NBA at 5 feet 3 inches tall. He played 14 seasons in the NBA (10 with Charlotte) and even averaged a double-double one year: 10.8 points and 10.7 assists in 77 games in 1993-94. Incredible. NBA Jam: Tournament Edition (arcade/console video game), released in 1994, featured the five aforementioned Hornets players. Curry and Hawkins could be unlocked after beating all 27 teams in Tournament Mode. On paper, the Hornets had a good, balanced team with All-Stars LJ and Zo at the power forward and center positions, Muggsy Bogues dishing out the assists, and Curry and Hawkins nailing shots from downtown. Dell Curry, who played at Virginia Tech, is the father of Steph Curry and Seth Curry. This team was also my squad of choice in NBA Live 95 for the Super NES. In reality, the furthest this team advanced in the playoffs was the Eastern Conference Semifinals where they lost to the New York Knicks, 4-1, in 1993. Three-time All-Star Glen Rice was the star of the team from 1995 to 1998. I ended up meeting Glen Rice on several occasions in the early 2010s when his son, Glen Rice Jr, played for Georgia Tech (I've been a Tech men's basketball season ticket holder since 2005). The Hornets moved to New Orleans beginning with the 2002-03 season. Charlotte's new NBA franchise, the Bobcats, started play in 2004-05. After the New Orleans Hornets became the New Orleans Pelicans starting with the 2013-14 season, the Bobcats changed their name to Hornets effective with the 2014-15 season. Michael Jordan, who grew up in North Carolina, became part-owner and head of basketball operations for the Bobcats/Hornets in 2006. He's been the principal owner of the franchise since 2010. Since the Bobcats' formation in 2004-05, the Bobcats/Hornets have only made the playoffs three times and lost in the first round each time. Kemba Walker was the face of this franchise throughout the 2010s. Walker joined the Boston Celtics in the 2019 offseason via sign-and-trade. One of the Hornets' stars in 2019-20 was Devonte' Graham. He had a breakout year and did wonders for my fantasy team (a great, under-the-radar, free agent pickup for me). Graham was born and raised in Raleigh and played all four years of college ball at Kansas before being drafted by the Hawks in 2018 and getting traded to the Hornets for two second round picks. On Yelp, four stars means "Yay! I'm a fan." So I'm giving the Charlotte Hornets four stars. I'm a fan.

I'm giving the Bobcats 3 stars because I don't love them, but yet I don't hate them. Unless they are playing the Magic or the Heat... I still don't hate them then... I just don't want them to win. I was able to see the Bobcats play the Magic in the playoffs back in 2010 in Orlando and it was such a fun and wonderful experience. Luckily, my team (the Magic) won and we beat them by a pretty decent margin. The final score that night was 92 - 77. I did enjoy seeing the Bobcats play. I love the NBA and I'm on a mission to be able to see every team play in person. Hopefully I'll be able to accomplish that in my lifetime. What was really super cool about this game is that Michael Jordan himself was there! I was SO stoked about that! I kept pointing and telling my husband throughout the entire game, "There's Michael Jordan! There's Michael Jordan!" I mean, I didn't get to meet him or anything as awesome as that, but we had great seats and I was able to see him the entire time. I'm not sure if I did more basketball watching or Michael Jordan watching. LOL Even though I'm not a fan, the Bobcats are a good team and I'm still very happy I was able to see them play in person! =)

Charlotte finally has the Hornets back for the 2014/15 season! The name Hornets is important to Charlotte, like "Yankees" to New York, "Brewers" to Milwaukee and "Dodgers" to Los Angeles. Okay, not so much on that last one. You see, back during the days of the Revolutionary War, the English commander sent a letter back to London, referring to Charlotte as "a veritable hornet's nest of rebellion." And so the name belongs here. Anyway. The Time Warner Cable Arena is a nice, modern arena with the appropriate number of comfortable seats that have a good view of the court, plenty of sky boxes and lots of concessions that charge the usual arm and a leg. The name seems to have helped some. We're not in last place any more. Yay? As for the "Lady Cats" I referenced in my earlier review... they are now the "Honey Bees" and they're just as cheery now as they were then.
