One of my new favorite restaurants! The food is absolutely amazing, and the young ladies at the door, the host stand, and those running the food orders are always so kind, helpful, and polite. Their warm energy really sets the tone every time I visit. My only small complaint (which doesn't change my overall rating) is about Demetre, who works behind the bar. I truly hope he can work on being more kind and engaging with everyone, not just certain types of guests. A couple of times when I've come in, I haven't received a greeting from him, and it's taken quite a while just to get a glass of water or place an order. During one visit, I even had to ask three times for water for a young man sitting beside me, he was visiting from out of town and it was his first time at the restaurant. Meanwhile, Demetre made sure to quickly accommodate guests who sat down after us with waters, napkins, and a friendly check-in. I'm in the service industry myself, and no matter how busy I get, I always make sure to stop by every guest with a smile, ask how their day is going, and see if they need anything. Please remember, you never know who might walk through your doors. The person who may bless you might not look or move the way you expect. A little kindness and attention go a long way.

Don't be intimidated by the wait! I came here on a holiday weekend and was told the wait could be up to 2hours, it was only a 35 minute wait (my mom and I got a pedicure at Neo Spa while we waited- 10/10). The staff is swift without making you feel rushed, so it definitely moves quick! Another time I've visited, we were seated right away! Drinks: Lavender Maple Latte Peach Lavender Mimosa Both are 10/10!!! Very delish and fresh Shrimp & Grits with Chicken Sausage 10/10. Sooo flavorful and not too heavy! Perfect portion too! Chicken & Waffles 8/10. Wasn't my fave only because I'd prefer dark meat/bone in chicken. Gigi was my waitress, and we loved her! Super attentive, kind and informative! My mom has been several times even just for takeout, definitely worth the visit!

First off, the service here was amazing!! From the host to our waitress, everyone was so kind and attentive. Truly A1 service! That said, I don't think the food quite lives up to the hype or the wait time. We tried the ube pancakes (pretty solid), cowboy bacon (definitely our favorite item), and chicken sausage (a bit dry). The eggs were just okay, not much flavor or anything special. The peach lavender mimosa was nice though! Overall, it's a decent brunch spot with great vibes and stellar service, but the food itself didn't wow us enough to make me want to rush back. Still, judging by how packed it was, they're clearly doing something right with their community.... Maybe we ordered wrong-- idk! It was cool though. 3.5/5

I came in on a Wednesday around 12pm and although there was no hostess, the bartender was able to signal for me to have a seat wherever I wanted. So I did. I will say that it was a bit difficult to enjoy the ambience once I sat down because the kitchen crew had their music on so loud that I could barely hear my own thoughts. Later, I had some trouble deciding what to eat, so I asked the bartender (he never told me his name, sorry) and he recommended their new pumpkin pancakes and WOW were they sweet. The walnuts they added on top, however, helped. All in all, had an alright time, but I'm not so sure the food, ambience nor service was special enough to keep me coming back any time soon.

My friends and I came in for brunch on a Sunday, and of course it was packed. It took about an hour for us to be seated... We sat outside on the patio, which was comfortable because the weather was nice. Our server was really nice and attentive, and the manager also paid us a visit. The recommendations from the server and the manager were outstanding. We loved everything we had. I would definitely go back... I wish that it was a little bigger so that the weight wasn't so long, but it was worth it.

One of my besties suggested this spot, for none other than Sunday brunch. Super cute spot, indoor seating is limited and packed (shoulder to shoulder) but there's also outside seating. Be prepared to wait! We shared the short rib hash, we asked for medium on the egg and it came out soft but the meal itself was delicious. The rib hash was tender and the potatoes were soft and crispy. We also shared the Strawberry Shortcake Stuffed French Toast, GET IT, GET IT, GET IT! The best French toast I've ever had! And the lavender mimosas was strong!

My Ube purple pancakes and purple syrup was delicious!! The chicken was tender juicy and well seasoned! My Dwight's Red Velvet cake was also delicious! We are going to make this our regular place to go for good food and excellent service. The Manager very cordial and handsome!

Time for an updated review. ELS is the best brunch in CLT. Good mix of healthy(ish) and indulgent menu options. I love the flexibility of half orders on the pancakes. Some of my faves include the avocado toast, veggie scramble, cornmeal pancakes, chicken sausage, and pumpkin chai. There's a reason why this place always has a wait!

Even though this place is small, they have a pretty large amount of tables outside on their patio. The place is beautifully decorated inside for great pictures. The French toast are amazing served with your choice of fruits. They also have a grand variety of coffee, lattes, and even expresso. I was able to get my black coffee with a shot of expresso. Our food order was taken pretty quickly, and the food order came out in a timely manner. The food was fresh, hot and very delicious. Parking is no problem since the restaurant is within a shopping center. We did have about an hour long wait, but we were able to walk around the shopping center area.
