The Hilton Charlotte is in the best location and has an amazing view and honestly that is the best thing about. This hotel boasts standard accommodations and is truly nothing to write home about. We stayed on the 22nd floor which boasts as a premium level and features the premium lounge. This premium lounge served the worst clearly microwaved hors d'oeuvres every evening. This Hilton lounge let me know that yes indeed it is possible to mess up a chicken quesadilla. Lastly, a front desk person let me know that my credit could be applied to parking so we refrained from eating at any of the restaurants on site. This information was incorrect so it was incredible frustrating to be told such information by an employee especially when street parking was free that day and parking was an additional $24 dollars a day. Overall would I stay here again? If someone else was paying.

We have been Hilton Honors members for decades, in addition to my wife working for Hilton for over 25 years. In all our years of staying on Hilton property, this was the WORST. After a full day of travel, we arrived exhausted at 2 pm (check in was 3 pm). The individual behind the desk (Ravon) INSISTED we pay an early check-in fee if we wanted a room immediately (the hotel was deserted). He insisted if we did not pay the fee, we could stand there with arms folded and wait until 3 pm. We have NEVER paid an early check in any Hilton property - 90% of the time staff will try to find us a room, even if we have to compromise on the type of room. If we ever arrived and the property had been booked the prior day, we simply came back when a room became available (proof of this was in Greenville 10 days later when we simply came back 2 hours later). But at this property staff presented NO opportunity for discussion - either pay the fee or wait for an hour. So, due to our exhaustion, we agreed to pay the $25, and magically rooms became available and ready for check in. THEN, when we went to check out 2 days later, he charged us $35 a night for self parking, even though our reservation CLEARLY showed the fee was $25 a night. His excuse, "Well, we raised our rates since you made your reservation." After disagreeing with him about the bill, he agreed to refund us the parking fee difference, but totally ignored the overcharge for the early check in. They were extremely inhospitable and the property was not managed well. You may be well advised to avoid this downtown Charlotte property and find accommodations at any of the other fine Hilton properties in Charlotte.

Wow, this place was perfect to stay at for the festival on Brevard and 7th St. The location is prime, especially if you are walking. You can easily get to: Farmer's Market (Saturday's), Train, Whole Foods/ Starbucks, libraries, Churches, etc. But the best part of the hotel stay is the staff/team, they made sure everyone was doing well and they made everyone feel so comfortable. A special thank you to Kenneth. I really appreciated always coming back and you were so pleasant and fun to talk to. You're very professional and North Carolina is lucky to have you! Best of luck and we hope to come and visit again!

I can't speak to other guests' experiences with this hotel, but as a very seasoned traveler I would NEVER stay at this property. Let's start with phoning them twice, letting it ring for so many times that the calls got disconnected. What if this was an emergency? I finally had to phone Hilton directly, when the matter concerned the property itself. Let's add to their inability to answer the phone, a $35 charge if you want early check-in. In all my years of traveling in the U.S. and abroad, probably amounting to over 1,000 hotels, I have NEVER encountered one which charged for an early check-in. I could understand if we were talking 3 AM, but not 10 AM! This is plain and simply unmitigated greed, since it costs the hotel zero dollars to offer an available room to an early-arriving guest.

The accommodations are dated and it was a bit confusing to come in from the parking deck. Or maybe that was just me! Our heat did not work. They had to call engineering who fixed it in 15 seconds. I've seen more water come out of a desert water source than the shower head. Than God my wife has short hair and I am bald! I would definitely pick a different hotel if we return to downtown Charlotte.

On August 8th, I stayed at Hampton Inn with a group of friends. This hotel stay for one night cost almost $400. With limited hotels available that night, we decided to pay. As we arrived at the hotel, we saw a bug on the door. We killed it and didn't make a big deal of it. Later that night, we arrived at the hotel and noticed bugs on the nightstand. We immediately picked up the phone to call someone at the front desk but saw no cords plugged into the phone (we later found out this was normal). I went to the desk to inform them that we had bugs in our room and showed her the video. She was shocked and stated that this was unacceptable! She emailed the video to herself and immediately offered to move us to another room. The associste had someone from maintenance help us gather all of our belongings and set up the new room. Still feeling a little uneasy about the situation, we settled in. We pulled the mattress from the couch and found popcorn kernels on the mattress!!! Yuck! It's a good thing the maintenance guy was there and witnessed the nasty bed! We reported this incident to the front desk, and she said we needed to talk to the hotel manager name Rebecca. We meet Rebecca the next morning during checkout. We were told no refund could be made because we booked through an outside vendor. Rebecca stated when booking calls, she would confirm that a refund was needed. The outside vendor contacted Hampton Inn to verify what happened. They informed them the problem was resolved because we moved to a new room ( the popcorn room). No refund was given!! In closing, I understand things happen but management should do a better job at handling those situations! I would not recommend this hotel! I would not recommend this hotel

I enjoyed my stay here! My bed was comfortable, but pretty squeaky. It was close to the PNC Arena which is what I was looking for. The breakfast was yummy and the staff were very friendly.

0 stars, I had no towels, no soap, there was blood in the bath tub, broken tv, beds weren't made, and found a knife in the bed! The breakfast was horrible, it was rotten bananas and soggy milk, I even asked for towels, and the employee asked me what a towel is! 0 Stars whatsoever! If Im being completely honest, this place just plain out sucks!!
