Pretty cool place. My little dogs liked the indoor area. It was a hot day, so the cool floor felt good to the dogs. Drinks were nice and cold! It's a cool place to hang out while waiting for the kiddo at Carowinds.

We have been taking our dogs to Lucky dog for several years. Today we had a horrible experience. A man was there with his pitbull. Under no other circumstance, have I ever cared what the breed of a dog is. However, as soon as we got there, the pitbull jumped on my border collie. His owner beautifully got him away from her. We got our things, sat down and got in line for a drink. seconds later, I heard my basset hound screaming. The same pitbull had bitten her hip. I could actually see the pitbull biting my dog. We got the pitbull away from my basset hound. Other patrons were very kind and concerned. They came over to check and see if my dog was injured. The staff member never came out from behind the bar or even asked what had happened. I walked up to the bar to report the incident and he just wanted to know if he could take my order. I started explaining the experience and he suggested that I fill out an incident report. We were trying to make sure our basset hound was OK when another patron put her two cents in and threatened to "kick my ass". Not only did the staff not try to help, the man with the pitbull was allowed to stay. He simply took his dog to the inside, part of the bar, and we had to walk past it while we were leaving.My face hound is very sore and is showing some bruising on her hip. Again, the staff was not concerned, and the aggressive dog did not have to leave.

I absolutely love Lucky Dog! My pup has been going there for boarding and daycare for almost 4 years and I haven't had any issues. My dog absolutely loves going to Lucky Dog and he is always excited when we walk through the door. Their check-in sheet is detailed and they don't let dogs come to day care or boarding if they are not up to date on their shots. If you call them and they don't pick up because they are away handling the pups, you'll get a call back or a text message. I think that's very cool. When my pup comes home from daycare and/or boarding, I can tell he played all day because he's knocked out in a matter of minutes. They have been so patient with my over active pup and I appreciate them!

Most of the employees are super sweet, the groomer Ada is fantastic!!! Michelle the bartender is a fan fave and their beer is cheap. Watch some of the owners, they won't keep an eye on their dogs.

I have been coming here for a couple years now, and always liked it. Until the recent management changes I can see things changing for the worse. The grounds aren't taken care of as nice. You see weeds popping up on the floor. The manager can be harsh and abrasive at times. Doesn't seem like a true dog person. I have seen him come out and yell at people and dogs. The bar Used to have a nice selection of spirits now it seems very limited. Although I do like some of the drink specials, they come up with. I know it's an outside area, but there should be a designated area for smoking. I will keep coming back with hopes that the new management figures it out.

I noticed this post in the small dog/party area in November and complained. It's now April, still nothing. I was informed that after I complained, they have been purchased by a larger company, and now this is being treated as a low priority. The safety of the dogs should be of the utmost importance, yet they have gone 5 months putting dogs in danger by not even bothering to wrap this up with padding. This is a DOG bar! The safety of the animals should be of the utmost importance yet in 5 months time they can't even be bothered to wrap this post in padding. My youngest dog has had 2 knee surgeries costing me a fortune, i do not need to add a few more hundred because this dog bar owner thinks it's ok to ignore the safety of my animals to turn a profit. I've been an LD customer since January 2017, visiting the various locations since then, and the places have gone horribly down hill since then with awful employee turnover. Dog owners really should be more vocal about this, and I am refusing to return until it's resolved. PS, the lack of OMB brews is problematic as well, that's embarrassing to be a bar in Charlotte and not carry Copper.

This is NOT a safe place for your dog to come play. This is not a staff issue, this is a guest issue. People bring their aggressive dogs, let them off leash, get drunk, then ignore their dog getting violent with others. Witnessed multiple dog fights initiated by one very aggressive dog, and staff would not ask the owner to leave. A regular told me that it happens all the time. Booze and pet safety should NEVER mix.

my review won't post on Google because they have it set to where they have to manually allow the comments which means they are filtering out the bad ones now. Matt Henderson new regional manager has been responding to reviews under that name and then I posted a review and it was never to be seen. but Matt Henderson gets on there and of course rates this shit place as 5 stars. Theres alot of sneaky stuff happening and corporate went it and messed everything up. this place used to be good and I'm sure they will try and delete this review too. someone needs to out them and make this viral.

The premise is great. Dog park + beer. The staff (ie the lone bartender) is wonderful, hence two stars. Because otherwise it would get one. Be warned of the German Shepherd (Kaya??) if you come here. I've sent a message to management before with no response. I shouldn't have been surprised when she was back with no changes. I heard her owner call her name as I was walking in, so I knew to go immediately to the small dog area. The problem is, you have to walk through the large dog area to get to the small dog area. Before I could get there, Kaya had focused in on my (18 pound) dog, who submitted quickly, belly up. When Kaya wouldn't back off, she (mine) showed her teeth and i knew it was close to going sideways. I quickly got my dog out of the situation. Later on, we heard the owner telling someone that her dog was misbehaving because her shock collar "isn't working and [the dog] knows it." If this was a one-off, it would be different. But people seem to be aware that this dog is a problem. There was another German shepherd, a pit, and a dobie. All of whom were well behaved and played nicely. I would hate for a dog to have to be seriously hurt before Lucky Dog management decides to do something. Admittedly, it is my fault for getting a small dog instead of a dog that I can let loose while sitting on my laptop without worrying about it getting hurt by another dog 5 times its size.
