Worst place I've ever stayed. It felt like there were no walls--I could hear everything from the neighbors next door Room# 338. Normal conversations, TV, and even their sexual activity. I was trying to sleep at midnight after a long day, but instead, I had to listen to licking, sucking, moaning, and loud pounding sex. It was uncomfortable, disturbing, and impossible to get any rest. The receptionist refused to move me at first, only relenting after I made multiple calls to complain. Eventually, she moved me to another room, but the whole experience was awful.

Honestly, I do not know why there are so many negative reviews. They are redoing the hotel and it was quite nice. The man behind the counter was incredible. He checked me both into the hotel and out of the hotel so he was putting in some long hours and yet still remain professional, friendly and outgoing. He is definitely a service to this industry and a great ambassador to the brand of Microtel and Wyndham as a hotel group. There are plenty of restaurants close by and there is a Waffle House literally within one hundred feet of the property. For dinner, I ended up driving about ten minutes away to a great Mexican restaurant. This hotel was not far from the Charlotte business area and I had a fifteen minute drive to my first business meeting. I wouod definitely recommend this hotel and I give it five stars for an overall great experience.

My stay was a 10. Tucked behind Circle K and near Starbucks & Waffle House. My room was cozy and comfortable. The staff was excellent. The check in guy was awesome & so was the staff. Breakfast was your basic hotel items. If you want something bigger. Denny's & Bo-jangles are up the street.

Let me start off by saying the complete stay wasn't terrible just MOST OF IT . To begin with the breakfast was none existent. The bathroom was very nice and the room was okay until my second morning there. On the second night of my stay i began to see roaches, and many of them I might add. i killed one and many more followed, when calling the front desk he asked if I would just like to check out instead of doing something. That next morning the manger was no where to be found and they told me they could not do anything about the bugs ! Would not recommend maybe try the hotel across the street!

The entrance is scary as there is a night window and doors that lock makes you wonder if your really in a bad area. The comforter had burns and the sheets was patched together. Rooms have creepy mirrors that make you feel like you are in an integration room with two sided mirrors. Pictures does not look like the actual rooms. Would not stay here again for the price we paid.

This was literally the worst hotel stay of my life. On June 9, I booked 10 nights (June 14-24) at this "pet friendly" hotel. I put in the reservation notes that I would be traveling with my service dog in training, Kona. I have debilitating anxiety disorder and panic attacks. On the day of my reservation at 4:10 PM, when I was 5 minutes from checking in, the hotel called to ask the weight of my dog. I told them he's an 80-pound service dog in training. They said that I couldn't stay there because they only allow dogs under 25 pounds for stays of 3 nights or less (not on their website). I explained that he's a service dog in training, and they said they only accept "certified service dogs" (there's no such thing). I looked up the law and found out that in North Carolina, dogs in training have the same access rights as service dogs. I explained that, and they still said we weren't welcome. I told them I had nowhere else to stay and that it was completely unacceptable to call someone AFTER check-in time on the day of their stay and tell them they weren't welcome. I went to the hotel anyway and asked to talk to the manager. They wouldn't let me talk to him directly but very begrudgingly said that he'd approved our stay as long as Kona wore a service dog in training leash, vest, AND cape (only one is required) and that he had to be kept "in a cage" (not legal). They also said that if he barked AT ALL, we'd have to leave, and that I couldn't leave him alone in the room AT ALL. I asked them if they could show me where they saw that he had to be in a cage and wear a leash, vest, AND cape, and they wouldn't show me. I had the laws pulled up on my phone, but they didn't want to look at them. I again asked to speak to the manager on the phone. They called him but wouldn't let me speak with him and said that he would call my room in a few minutes. I said I wanted to speak to him before I checked in, but the front desk representative assured me that I could check in with my dog and that he'd call me. He never did. The next morning after not sleeping well, I was awoken by housekeeping at 11:00 AM telling me that they needed to clean the room. I explained that we were sleeping and that I'd been told by the front desk representative that they clean rooms with dogs every other day and that I just needed to let the front desk know when Kona and I were leaving so they could clean while we were out. The housekeeper said that the manager had decided that our room needed to be cleaned EVERY day because of my dog and asked when I wanted them to come back. I explained I was sleeping and asked if I could call when I woke up. They said no and that they'd be coming back at 12:30 and that I needed to leave the room with Kona for 30 minutes while they cleaned our room. I couldn't believe they were going to kick us out! I called the front desk again and asked to speak to the manager. They told me he'd call my room in a few minutes. Again, he did not. I called Wyndham's customer care line and filed a complaint. They called the manager and said that he'd apologized to them, but I received NO apology at all from the hotel. After sitting in my room crying and trying not to have a panic attack for a few hours, I finally decided at 4:00 PM that I didn't want to stay there a second longer, even though we had no where else to stay. I went to the front desk and told them in tears that I wanted to leave. They told me I'd have to pay for my first night AND a second night. I said there was no way I was paying for a second night, since I'd been waiting to talk to the manager since the night before. They called the manager and he agreed. However, I then realized that they'd already charged my ENTIRE 10 night stay on my credit card. Not a hold, an actual charge. This was NOT a prepaid reservation. Because they'd already charged the full stay on my card, I didn't have room on my card to book anywhere else. I had to quickly make a payment from our debit account, which was cash that I had needed to use to pay other bills. I am still waiting for the Microtel to refund the 9 nights that I did NOT stay at their hotel. I checked into a more expensive (and much nicer) room at the Best Western Plus Huntersville, and they were WONDERFUL! I called the front desk before I arrived, and they said Kona and I were more than welcome there! I asked if it was okay to leave Kona in the room while I went to the pool and they said that was totally okay. I told them I didn't think he'd bark but to please get me if he barked at all. They said, "Oh, we're a pet friendly hotel. It's okay if he barks once or twice. Don't even worry about it." What a difference! This Microtel treats guests with disabilities terribly! The Wifi was so slow pages wouldn't even load, and the coffee and "hot water" for tea I got in the lobby were both cold. I didn't try breakfast because I was afraid to leave Kona in my room for a second. 100% ick!

Clean rooms, nice staff, comfortable bed, overall well decorated, especially in the lobby and breakfast areas. Our room had a window seat which was fun, with a view of the pool (although it would've been nicer if it wasn't January haha)! Don't expect a resort, but this is a perfect hotel if you're looking for a nice place to spend the night while visiting Charlotte. Microtels in other cities have lived up to the same standards as well!

Thanks Microtel for saving us from a hotel disaster that we checked out of at around 1am. The front desk was super friendly and understanding and made us feel truly welcome here. The continental breakfast was luxurious, with hot waffles, hard boiled eggs, toast, dough nuts, coffee, juice and fresh fruits. The room was clean, and unique. There were 2 double beds and a window seat that turned into an extra bed for guests. There was a microwave and fridge, and closet with doors, and a really nice bathroom with clean linens, soaps, and a coffee maker. This isn't the first time I've stayed at a Microtel and certainly wont be the last. Truly outstanding! (PS: I'm only taking away one star because the hotel is incredibly hard to find at night time. It is hidden behind other businesses, but really is a nice property once you find it)

Let me start this off by saying you get what you pay for! For the money I paid it served its purpose check in Friday night out by Sunday morning. The hotel overall was okay the rooms and lobby were clean. In ALL hotels i suggest you do your usual room inspections ((bug check)) .This is not the Ritz Carlton I was just looking for a decent place to lay my head for the weekend during the American Youth Football Regions. If your looking for a cheap/decent room price and a place close to attractions then book.
