Acro Cafe is a cafe located on the 4th floor of the NC Natural Science Museum. It is near the Living Conservatory. It was very busy when I was there so I couldn't get many photos. The sanitation score was 99. Service was very friendly and you are provider a pager while you wait for your meal. Ordering is done at the counter. The menu is more limited at the Acro Cafe than the Daily Planet Cafe but there is still a good variety. Most of the food is prepped at the Daily Planet Cafe and brought over. They offer wraps, sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, chips, sweets and many beverages. There was an area where you got the plastic ware and napkins where you could just get a cup of water too. I was surprised my salad was made fresh rather than being prepackaged. But I loved the compostable plate and not a plastic container. The salad was really good with all the fresh veggies as was the rice krispie treat. The prices are reasonable and museum members even get a discount.

Went here because after walking all the the center, we were starting to get hungry. Being where it was obviously very convenient and we figured we give it a try considering the online reviews. If you have a window where there's no line, just place your order. Pending how busy things can get, since they make everything to order, it may take awhile. However, the food, was pretty good. Considering the location, often these places serve food that is barely 'ok' bc they know they can get away with it. However, here the food was pretty good and their options made it easier to choose healthy. Then when you see the fairness in the prices, you realize, it's all good. Located on the 4th floor of the Museum of Science in downtown Raleigh sits this cafeteria style shop. Surprisingly the prices are quite reasonable and the child's meal includes a sandwich with yogurt, a side and a little souvenir. My granddaughter loved her little turtle. I ordered a grilled veggie sandwich with pesto and it was very satisfying. You order at the counter and pick up when they call your number. Easy peasy.

I had the Brie and bacon grilled cheese. It was a convenient meal while I was working at the museum. I thought the food is great, especially for a museum cafe. I would definitely recommend this place, and I'd get it again if I'm ever visiting the museum.

Reports of the death of Acro Cafe are greatly exaggerated. This place is NOT closed, as previously reported by others. It may have been a temporary event. I noticed their Sanitation Grade was prominently displayed, dated 12-18-18, with a near perfect 99.5 rating. This yummy hidden gem is the cafe inside the Museum of Natural Sciences on the live butterfly exhibit level. Not only is it very much open, it is very much good, and very much affordable. There's a variety of freshly made wraps, salads, sandwiches, smoothies and huge cookies. Each wrap and sandwich comes with your choice of chips or fresh fruit. Nothing on the menu is over 8.50. I tried the chicken salad melt, it comes with Brie! Cheese (can you believe that?) On a grilled multi-grain bread. It has pecans and craisins and celery and just a little too much mayo but boy was it tasty. My son got the pulled pork sandwich piled high with meat on a grilled bun with fresh made coleslaw. If I worked downtown, this would be my lunch stop.

Want to eat lunch with a giant dragonfly? This is the place. Tons of natural light from skylights and a view of the indoor butterfly sanctuary. Acro is located on the fourth floor of the main building of the Museum of Natural Sciences. Mostly sandwiches and drinks here; saw a couple of panini presses. Had a rockin' Smoothie called the Milky Way. Raspberries, Strawberries, Banana and yogurt = so good! Now picture the sad faces of my children , "Daddy can we have our smoothie back now?" If you want something more substantial like a burger, you can go to the Daily Planet Cafe on the ground floor of the Research Building side. A little pricey but decent quality.

My husband and I ate here for lunch, while visiting the museum. The salad was delicious! Better than what I've had in restaurants. I really enjoyed this cafe' and would definitely go back! Their prices aren't bad either. My salad was just over $8.00, but was really large! Totally worth it.
