What you see is not what you get. (On Wake Tech campus south) The food is premade, dry, and devoid of flavor. The staff show little care for service or for the preparation of the meals. What's served feels more like prison rations or the worst kind of public-school lunch, yet it's sold at the price of a real dining experience. This establishment does a disservice to its name, to the people it serves, and to the very idea of what a restaurant should represent. The approach to cooking here feels callous and nonchalant, stripped of passion or pride. It feeds hunger but fails to nourish in any meaningful way. At best, this place is a last resort for the desperate or those with no other option

I've grabbed a work lunch here 4 or 5 times, and every experience has been on point. Friendly and prompt service. Always a good value. Menu is a good mix of breakfast & lunch, staples and twists. We've also ordered a big takeout order (8 or so people) for my office nearby. All the orders were accurate, and everyone enjoyed their lunch. My favorite is the chicken bacon ranch wrap with blackened chicken. The crepes are worth a try as well. Give Bistro 401 a shot for some bold flavors and nice variety on a workday downtown.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here a few weeks ago. The ham and apple crepe was delicious. It was very tasty and just the right size for lunch (not huge). Ordered at the counter and the person who took my order was very friendly. It wasn't very busy on a weekday. Mixture of high tops and regular tables. I will definitely go again.

Visited here last week while in town for a conference. Delicious and affordable food, reasonable portions, very good vegetarian and meat choices. Cozy ambience, good for all ages. Would definitely recommend!
