# Hilton Raleigh North Hills – Premier Hotel in Raleigh, NC

Hilton Raleigh North Hills, located in Raleigh, NC, is a well-known hotel that combines comfort with convenience. So I booked this because I was on a work trip. How this is a four star rated hotel in the travel tool I use I have absolutely no idea. Yes, it is a Hilton, but it is a really old one. The front desk staff is extremely accommodating and parking is really easy. They do charge $10 a day for parking so keep that in mind however it is neither gated nor controlled access parking. The first room I was in had a number of issues and after two days, they were not resolved at all despite numerous complaints to the front desk. They did offer me a different room, which did not have any of the issues I mentioned to the front desk, however, had a slightly damp smell to it. I don't really mind the smell because it's not that bad and the room is much nicer than the last one. I went down to check out the pool and it is slightly cloudy, which means they are not keeping up with the maintenance there. Also, it appears they used to have a hot tub, but it is now just a seating area. Outrageous! Breakfast is fine, but may not be worth $21 to some travelers. It doesn't bother me. The high point of this property is the service they provide, which is really very good for most things. This property needs to be taken over by a company who will invest in it and make it back into a full Hilton like it is supposed to be. The location is good because it is near an interstate.

Reviewing as an event venue, not a hotel as I did not stay here overnight. I attended Ibashocon this year and liked the Hilton as an event venue. Parking was conveniently available out front at no charge. Strategic signage made it easy to navigate the building. All the areas were clean and organized. The employees were helpful and efficient. Ample bathrooms available that were clean and well stocked. The space was utilized well with multiple rooms set up for either panels, games, or activities. Adequate seating was available in the rooms and the sound/visuals in the rooms was appropriate. One of the hallways was neatly lined with information tables and a larger room was used as an exhibit hall. I do wish the cafe was open for longer hours (and that I had checked the hours beforehand). I didn't realize they stopped serving Starbucks at 12 pm. The 88 Oaks Carolina Kitchen is open for breakfast (6:30-10 am) and dinner (5-10 pm). Therefore at 2 pm when I was planning on sipping some caffeine, it was closed. Hilton did sell event-specific foods and snacks in a separate area at lunch time, which were delicious. I chose the takoyaki. Overall, I had a positive experience here and would attend an event here in the future.

Stayed here for my baby girls birthday getaway. As soon as we pulled up she noticed that the building was old. Our room was very old and outdated. Although it was old it was clean. The staff were incredibly nice and very helpful. I had issues with my room key our entire stay. One minute they would work and the next it wouldn't. Breakfast is not included but they have a buffet for $18. It is not worth it!

If I knew you had to pay more money for hot water I would have paid that. 3 days here on business and not one day I had hot water to shower in. Told management and they said you had to let the water run because the 5th floor is a ways up. 90 min of running and still Nothing hot or even luke warm . Rooms are still out dated, hallways were missing wallpaper, edging boards broken and splintered . House keeping knows but nothing g is ever done about it . Definitely won't be staying here again. Hot water would have been nice at least 1 day.

We were expecting a nice renovated hotel, as they boasted but we got a polished pile of poo. Starting with the customer service. The front desk supervisor obviously hates her job and couldn't care less about the customer experience. I had to repeatedly ask the same questions to get answers. She just wanted to get my card for incidentals and send me on my way. When staying in a room that is nearly $200 a night we expected a lot more. We've stayed in much cheaper hotels that were way nicer. We paid extra to stay on the Executive Floor, hoping the rooms would be nice but not the case. All of the elevators have certificates of compliance that are all outdated. The carpet looks terrible, and just looks like a flipper came in to try and get the most out of doing nothing. The bed was lumpy, headboard is snagged and stained, curtains have snags and stains, lampshades are dusty and stained, furniture is old with obvious signs of long use, wallpaper with ripples, carpet has ripples and signs of wear, bathroom fixtures are old and not updated at all with obvious rust stains. The room was not an ADA accessible room but the bathroom counter was so low I had to nearly squat at 5'10" to brush my teeth. The best thing about the room is the shower-head, Speakman Anystream, very old, but nice hot water with amazing pressure. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this property as the cost vs accommodations just don't jive. There are much more reasonable hotels in the vicinity that are way nicer

Have stayed at the Hilton North Hills a few times now. Have only ever stayed one night at a time. For what it is and the price, it's fine. It's definitely the worst "Hilton" branded hotel I've stayed in, but it's adequate. Quite place for a little sleep and a shower the next morning. It tends to be my go to just based on price and proximity to the highway. Hotel does have a small Starbucks and a restaurant in the lobby. I have only had drinks at the bar, but the Starbucks is nice to have to when your plan is just to hop back in the highway. I probably would have actually given the hotel a four star review, but they get at least a star off for charging for parking in a large lot.... You're a long ways from downtown and certainly no valet. Either bake it into my nightly rate or don't charge for it.

The hotel was nice and clean. We are Hilton Rewards Members. We stopped in here and booked on site... Apparently the free breakfast changed. I went online and looked. If we booked online we would have had the free breakfast but since we booked in person we didn't get it. I definitely don't like that. The pool area was cool since there was doors open to outside.

Badly needs updating. Staff is hit or miss (most were great, some were just 'present'). Rooms just 'meh' - badly in need of an update, especially on the 6th floor which is supposed to be the Executive Level. Bathrooms have the really low toilets & REALLY low counters in bathrooms. Had one cockroach scurry out of somewhere in the bathroom - not common on the highest floor. Room is hard to keep at a good temp, constantly too hot or too cold. Linens all great. Carpets need to be replaced with LVT or even vinyl (unsure why any hotel still uses any carpet at all). Floors in lobby always had spills or sticky stuff. Restaurant is ONLY buffet and is mediocre with occasional nice fresh fruit/veg. Upon checking in a super nice gal was at front but she ONLY had the ability to check OUT, not 'in' (weird) & I waited about 10 min for someone to finally return to check us in. If ever here & wanting to eat out on a Fri-Sat, make sure you go around 4pm! Everything after 5 was insane and some places were over 1-hr wait at 5:30 already. Hard to find parking & everything was so jam packed, we ended up getting a great take & eat dinner at Harris Teeter (very close to hotel & covered parking + entry into store, bonus!). All in all it's a just-ok hotel. Only stayed as our event was here.

I usually stay in this hotel when I attend conferences and business meetings in Raleigh. Staff is professional, rates are affordable and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking is accessible and it offers two EV charging stations, which I appreciate as an electric vehicle driver. Food and bar are decent.

Horrible. Out dated, furniture falling apart, took 3 tries in three hours to check in, and exposed wiring on the AC unit. No room service either. Won't even empty the garbage. Tried to watch the football game and they can't get sports at the bar. Executive lounge is closed and covered by black garbage bags.
