This was a really fun thing to take my family on while they were visiting. Almost everywhere in NC is claimed to be haunted because of the civil war and all sorts of things. I never miss an opportunity to go on a ghost walk. The company gives you the address of the meeting spot at 7:30pm and they made it incredibly easy to find them. The tour was about 90 minutes around downtown Raleigh. We were able to book the same day online, no issues. Tickets were only $17 per person. So really cheap fun, while getting a little history lesson.

The guide did not face the group when talking about the location; they looked at the building when talking, so their back was always toward the group. Hard to hear when they are not facing you. The sites were interesting, but there was not much activity that the guide talked about.

The Haunted Footsteps Ghost Tour was a wonderful tour that was lead by our hilarious guide, Carolyn. With 4 stops, just over a mile of walking, and lasting about an hour and a half, it was the perfect distance and duration. We didn't feel too worn out after our tour and we were captivated by Carolyn's incredible storytelling the whole time. Very fun and well worth the price, definitely recommend if you love ghosts and history! (Also to be clear, the is NOT a ghost hunting tour. You don't go into any of the stops, it is simply learning about the history of local hauntings.)

I really enjoyed this ghost tour! I had never been on one, but I knew the concept. There were certainly some interesting stories and tidbits of history on the tour. I am frightened when in graveyards, so it was a little frightening to me to simply be in one towards the end of the tour, but that comes with the territory of a ghost tour I suppose. Michael was our guide, and I think he did a great job!

I'm totally in love with all of the history that Raleigh oozes and since I know nothing about it personally, I decided to look up local tours and historical sites. When I stumbled upon Raleigh Haunted Footsteps Ghost Tour it seemed like the perfect combination of education and fluff entertainment. Here's what you should know about it; *The tour starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at approx 9 p.m *This is a walking tour that begins in front of the Wake Cty Courthouse in Downtown Raleigh on Fayetville. You then walk in a funky arc that's about 1.5 miles and the tour concludes in Moore Square. *There's convenient parking right across the road from Moore Square (I hear it's free at this time). *Tickets are $15 for adults and $9.99 for kids (recommended age for the tour is 8-13) *There are 5 stops: (what used to be) The Yarborough Hotel, the Capitol Bldg, an old house, City Cemetery and Moore Square. Overall walking through downtown Raleigh on a beautiful night, learning new things and being entertained all for $15 was pretty awesome. There were about 12 people in my group and our tour guide Brad (?) was very dedicated to the cause of showing us a good time. My one piece of constructive criticism though, would be the storytelling. I LOVE a good ghost story! I really can't emphasize that enough. I'm pretty much on the fence when it comes to believing they actually exist but I will always be open to hearing a good spooky tale. That's pretty much what I was looking for on this tour but the stories didn't quite deliver. Brad's story telling technique wasn't very good when it came to endings. The ending to a scary story is really critical and needs to be delivered with some pinache, but his endings fell sort of flat and I was never sure if he was done telling his story or just taking a break. There was no real punchline that gave me the heebie jeebies. This was a tad disappointing because there seems to be a lot of spooky potential there. At the end of the night I left the tour knowing a little bit more about this city and for $15 that's a fair shake.
