This is a great option for the hearing impaired or anyone not wanting to sleep. The hotel room doors shut so loudly my delicate inner ear bones were rattled to the possible point of hairline fractures. When entering the room, a considerate person could turn the handle and quietly close the door, but when you exit the room, it's not even possible to quietly close given it automatically locks. And again, since it's so loud, if ANYONE on the entire floor has a door interaction you WILL hear it - I estimate this occurred at 15 minute intervals from when I tried to go to sleep until the coffee shop across the street opened. Also, despite it being 2025, surprisingly, WIFI is NOT included in the over $300 per night rate - nope instead Marriott tries to squeeze another $10 or so dollars out of you! On top of all this, the sink started regurgitating sewer water so I had to keep it plugged to prevent vomiting while I got ready. Needless to say, I would NOT stay here again and have yet to recover from "vacation".

Here are seven experiences I had at the City Center Marriott: 1) The lobby, room and restaurant were fine and it was clean. The chili was good but it took 20 minutes to get a bowl and the blue cheese on top was odd. The chili and corn bread tasted thawed, not fresh. It was overpriced for not being fresh. The bartender was super professional but he said the reason the chili was delayed was due to the worker being late. 2) Pool was open days one and three but inaccessible day two. I asked if the pool was going to open soon. The front desk person said, it's open now! It was not. See photo. 3) Both bellman, one hyped up constantly talking over me and the other with glazed over eyes and slowed speech, vehemently refused to call a taxi for me and absolutely insisted that I take the black SUV limousine that was sitting around the corner. The high energy bellman repeated three times, "Take this black car here to the airport!" I repeated that I was not going to the airport. Sadly, there's a cell phone 'dead spot' in the lobby, entrance and hotel Starbucks so it's impossible to order a Lyft or Uber without walking well out of range of the hotel. I have the carrier with the best cell phone range. After getting loudly 'talked over' by the high energy bellman more I caved and went over and asked the SUV limo driver how much it would cost to go to Durham. The limousine driver (who had no credentials) said it was $85 to go to Durham. I did the math. That's $102 with tip. He had a creepy demeanor. Lugging my heavy suitcase I escaped the City Center Marriott bellman madness and walked two blocks down the street to the courthouse. My cell phone worked there perfectly! l ordered and was picked up by a kind Lyft driver. I felt safer at a place with a jail than near those bellman! With tip, Lyft cost me $28. Compare to $102 for the only ride I could get at the Marriott. 4) The room was nice except for the towels. All of the room towels either smelled like rancid flood water or fire. I borrowed a couple of blue towels from the pool. Those smelled clean. 5) There were all down pillows. 6) When I checked out the room would not lock! I reported it to the front desk. The exposure is that if something got stolen I could get blamed. 7) The room refrigerator was oddly thin so if you put something in the main part it prevented the door from shutting!

I was in Raleigh for work and booked a 2-queen bed room. I enjoyed the room and amenities and only complaint for the room outlets by the bed were not working. Paid the higher rate and got the breakfast package and absoluelty not impressed witht he food here. I enjoyed comfy beds, good water pressure and hot water (11th Floor), and great views of the city. Did run into a snarky reception when asked for a bottle of water. Told me she would make an exception but vending machines were on every floor. I told her she could bill it to the room but she made some note on my account, asked what room I was in and said it was a courtesy this time. I feel like delivery of the conversation could have been better. Meanwhile another rep offered my coworkers a free bottle the next day after we came in from lunch. I didn't even engage. Aside from that experience, I personally would not select that breakfast included add on offer in the future but did like how you can choose from anything on the menu and were not limited. I would stay here again and looks like a much better option than the Sheraton Nextdoor. Overall service was ok, house keeping was great and left little thank you notes, and the rooms were modern. The lobby had that inviting smell, and the hotel also had a nice fitness center, hot tub, and pool were a plus if you are looking for that.

We were here for a conference, and the hotel was everything I could want. Nice, clean rooms. Big bar and restaurant option. Open lounge for status members. Friendly staff. Parking was valet only, but that's to be expected downtown. I didn't use all of the amenities, but for all of the things I needed, it was perfect.

Review is for the event hall not the hotel itself. We have attended numerous events here and in the adjoining convention center over the past 10+ years. Each event has been well organized and utilized the available space well. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are kept clean and stocked. Overall seems like a good place to host an event!

I stayed here for a weekend while visiting Raleigh. It is located right in the center of the downtown area. When we arrived there were a large amount of people present. There seemed to be a volleyball tournament and other events already planned. I checked in the staff and entered my room on the fourth Floor. It was very large and spacious. I was impressed. You had a wide-open room with a large bed on the side. The view was not that enjoyable. It was only the roof of the hotel. I managed to get a couple of meals form the Rye Bar downstairs. The Starbucks on the first floor was a plus but it was always packed with long lines out the door. I just wanted a normal coffee without taking a long time. You can walk outside and there are several food and drink options. I was able to stop by a club down the street. There was a New Orleans Bar close by as well as a wonderful Greek restaurant I wanted to visit. It is a farther walk to the Glenwood South area. Overall, it was a good location in the city. I did have some issues with the room. At one point the television stopped working. I had to go to the front desk and ask engineering to come up. They were able to reset everything and make it work but it took a while. I asked for a late checkout seeing as I am a Bonvoy member but they were not able to assist. The cleaning staff came in and picked up some papers that fell on the floor. They thought it was garbage and threw it out. I was able to reprint the copies but it was an inconvenience. Overall a decent stay but wished some things ran smoothly.

We had an excellent stay here while in town for both the State Fair and the street international wine fair. The hotel itself is quite nice and appears fairly new or fairly well maintained. The staff were all friendly and we had no issues with any part of our stay. The restaurant in the lobby is a little pricey but it was actually quite good food and the breakfast buffet they have in the morning was very nice. It's not quite as good as the buffet nicer Marriotts used to have but it was still very decent. They have an indoor pool and hot tub area which was a nice way to spend some time in the evening. The pool is supposed to be heated but was pretty chilly during our visit. That's really the biggest issue we had with anything at this location. Parking can be a little confusing at first but was actually quite nice. Valet is available and super easy to use but a little pricey at this location, so we chose to self park. That means driving around to the back side of the building and through a massive underground parking deck to find a spot. However, after figuring out where to go I was able to find a spot that was actually very close to the underground entrance to the hotel and convention center so it wasn't a bad experience at all.

This was not my first experience with Raleigh Marriott City Center. I came in for work and a conference. Marriott's online check in process is super simple, and if you have the app and a compatible device, you can obtain a digital room card. Pretty easy. I checked in online and then retrieved an old-fashioned key card at the desk. The girl there was super friendly and knowledgeable about parking options. My room was clean and normal. Hotel beds are usually hit or miss for me, and this one was average. I like a firm mattress, and this one felt firm, but somehow didn't satisfy. The pillows are nice though. The only issue I had was not a Marriott issue. Someone conducted a street party right on Fayetteville St. between roughly 11:30p and 1:30a. Loud music. Fortunately, I brought ear plugs and was able to get back to sleep.

Probably the best place in Downtown Raleigh besides the Mezcal bar. I've stayed at a few hotels in the area and this one has been the best. The lobby is huge with a pretty big bar/restaurant inside. It has entrances/exits on multiple sides so depending on where you're going, you don't have to walk around the building. The room was nice and spacious with a good work space. The staff was super friendly and accommodating when I arrived at 10a and had a room available, so I could work (and sleep) a bit. Some hotels just tell you "Check In is at 4 so you're SOL", but not here. Pickup and drop off was easy when using Uber, with a covered circular entrance loop thingy. If I'm every heading to downtown Raleigh again, this would be my preferred hotel.

If you have an event at the Convention Center in Raleigh, this is the only place you should consider staying. From the moment even before stepping into the hotel, customer service was at all-time high. The gentlemen working the valet greeted me warmly and instructed me on how to use their services. When I went to the registration desk, I was again greeted very warmly (I wish I remembered the gentleman's name) and was pleasantly surprised that my room was available well ahead of check in time. I quickly moved my vehicle to the very conveniently located underground parking (leave the hotel and make two right turns). I have left my vehicle there the entire stay and never needed to move it. You can enter the hotel from the garage and the hotel is connected to the Raleigh Convention Center so you never have to go outside if you don't want to. My room was nicely appointed, spacious and clean. I stayed in a king room on the 15th floor. The views were pretty nice, too. The gym was decent. I think the best feature was the "refrigerated"/cool towels! Equipment was clean and there was a variety of machines and free weights to get a good workout. I reviewed the on-site restaurant, Rye, in a different review. Please check it out! My only complaint is that there is only one set of elevators that did tend to get crowded. I did appreciate, however, that you had to use your key card to operate the elevator so walk-in traffic could not access floors with rooms.
