I've always wanted to try a Hotpot & Korean BBQ. I had the opportunity of trying this with my sister and cousin. I appreciate my girls wanting to do this. While appreciative of the experience I went extremely hungry and that was a mistake on my part. There was a lot of information to consume and even more food to eat. I enjoyed the sweet and sour teriyaki pot the most. The Cajun pot was extremely salty and I'm not sure why this is a fan favorite. I loved the appetizers that came needing no preparations the dumplings and kimchi. Our server was informative with the scripts: limits limits and the number of meats that could come out at one time. The staff walking around assisting when I was confused was most helpful. My only concerns here were with cross contamination risk. Handling raw meats at a table with food I was trying to consume. Constantly having to handle a tablet that's been in so many hands. It's a bit tricky to prepare food, eat and still have to touch the tablet. It would be helpful to have a more hands free or sanitized approach to ordering through this shared device. I found the table to be small. Overall, a positive experience and the food was enjoyed. Will I come again? I'm open to coming again. Do I recommend? Yes I recommend the experience for those who enjoy the all you can eat aspect.

We (my family and friends) love Hot Pot and BBQ restaurants. We tried out So Hot and had a mixed experience. The good: - Food selection options were good. - Staff and service were excellent. - The food prep and presentation were excellent. - The overall restaurant atmosphere was nice. - They surprised us at the end with ice cream and S'mores, where we prepared the S'mores using the grill as the heat for the marshmallows. The not-so-good: - The hot pot heater and the grill took up 80% or more of the table. The issue is that when they brought the multiple plates and bowls to the table, there was hardly room for everything, so we were all rearranging things, combining plates, and trying to find somewhere for our own bowl and plate. It was quite uncomfortable. On the positive side, staff was very quick to remove used plates and bowls repeatedly throughout our meal. - Due to the need to power the Hot Pot heater and the grill, there is an extremely small amount of leg room in a booth. I'm 6' tall and was very uncomfortable. I'd recommend a table with individual chairs. - The food seasonings were hit and miss. Some were outstanding; others were so-so. I hate giving them a 3, mainly because the staff was so helpful and friendly. The food was also very nicely prepared. But the issues above detracted from the experience.

The Raleigh So Hot has great Hotpot just like its sister location in Cary, with the addition of Korean BBQ too! I love being able to get both Korean BBQ and Hotpot at the same time. It's a bit pricy since it is AYCE, but worth it if you come hungry! The price for the Gold Menu is $40.99 per person (Prime Beef + Angus Beef) and the Diamond Menu is $58.99 per person (US Wagyu + Gold Menu). I've had both menus and the Wagyu is really good for the Korean BBQ, but not necessary if you are just getting Hotpot. The decorations and vibe in this location are really cool and modern. I've had nice servers and good service on every visit to the restaurant. It's a great place to come with a small group for birthdays and celebrations because of the fun and unique dining experience.

Amazing experience! We visited on a Friday at 5:30 with a 3 year old. Very accommodating for kids. Service was fantastic! Jerry & Christian went above and beyond. Marinated short ribs were our favorite- delish!

TLDR: Ideal hotpot place for smaller parties (4 or less) who like longer, shared meals and plenty of food. This was my first experience with hotpot. So Hot offers all-you-can eat hotpot and bbq with numerous options to pick from via iPad. We were overwhelmed yet had a good time and left full. I recommend a party size of 4 or fewer. Having a cramped table of 6 was too much. Our waitress (Destiny) did offer us a larger table and I wish we had taken her up on it. Before we knew it our table was cramped and there wasn't space for the dishes. We made a reservation for a weekday at lunch. Our table was ready upon arrival and we were welcomed by several friendly employees. Soon we were provided with tons of options and instructions. The waitress sets up the iPad and lists off the options. Having a larger party and not being able to see the menu ourselves caused difficulty. You have to pick a meal tier and broth flavors without seeing all the options. Destiny was so patient as we asked her to repeat several times. I don't even know what options we chose, I think gold with two vegetarian broths. Hotpot: For the broths, we specifically chose one mushroom and one that did not have mushrooms, however, they both had mushrooms. I didn't mind, but 1 or 2 members of our party disliked mushrooms. The initial broths were was very rich and flavorful. Once you cook the first round of items they refill the broth with hot water, greatly diluting the flavor. Ample options are available and they cook quickly. Some items weren't delivered and I think we received some extra items. BBQ: we liked the available options and flavors, however, it took so long to prepare the meal. Partly due to having 6 people with various preferences and partly because only employees are allowed to operate the grill. I understand this from a safety perspective but it was very inconvenient. A lot of time was spent waiting for an employee to assist us, waiting on more oil, waiting on the grill to heat up, and waiting for the food to cook. Plus 1-2 people in our party were stuck doing all the cooking. Sauce bar: fun, messy, and time consuming. I would have preferred the option to order an assembled sauce. The sauces we created did taste delicious. The price seemed reasonable for the amount of food received and the quality. Even with multiple dietary restrictions in our party we all found more than enough options to pick from. Side note: I do like how they charge for uneaten items to reduce food waste. Free parking is available in a nearby lot or parking garage. Looking forward to returning now that I know what to expect!

So Hot in Cary set the standard pretty high- this sister spot was disappointing. The table booth set up was cramp- the hotpot/ bbq only option was kind of a rip off. First the price was crazy - 1 adult three kids- ran us about $150+ after tip. Server gave us so many rules and the Korean bbq part of the meal was not up to par- fire was low heat, Hotpot part- was lacking: again the food came out inconsistently- didn't really get a chance to eat properly, as the fire was cold- food came out randomly and our drinks literally came every 10 minutes- with my soda coming about 15 min till end of meal. Can't choose either or- most do both. Flavors on sides were okay, but sauce bar was disjointed. Overall, won't be returning- the decor, service and food are not worth the asking price.

SoHot Raleigh has a futuristic furnish, complete with bright purple lighting, shiny signs, and brand new seating. This wasn't enough to offset my experience, however. Food aside, my first qualm was that there are no overhead vents in the restaurant. As someone who eats Asian food out typically, I'm used to vents directly above hotpot bowls and BBQ grills. Without the vents, I found it stuffy inside and a little bit nauseating. I also don't love the lighting and found that looking into my bowl, I felt a little dizzy. This is a personal preference! Speaking to the food, similarly to the Cary location, the broth is on the saltier side. I didn't mind the spice levels though! This location is complete with a sauce bar, a tablet to order food from the kitchen, and both a hotpot and grill section side by side on the table. I liked the sweet milk buns :) I thought the service was good and pretty standard. I'd come back if I were in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit SoHot.

Definitely worth the hype, I'd say prob max of 4 or 5 per grill/hotpot. It does require some work and coordinating to eat and cook all while repeat ordering but the food was very good. Soup was great. Excellent service, those servers hustle! Recommend making a reservation though as the lines on. Saturday evening were insane

I LOVE So Hot! It's one of my favorite places to go on a special occasion. There is plenty of parking at So Hot, especially if you arrive right when they open (which is my preferred time since it can get super busy for dinner). It's decorated really well and I love that they have bears on the ceiling when you enter. Did you know that you can actually buy these bears?! I did. I named him Bulgogi after my favorite menu item at So Hot! I love the AYCE aspect of So Hot. You can choose either Hotpot or Korean BBQ or both for a nominal up-charge. There is a small buffet next to the condiments bar where you can mix and match flavors for your hotpot. I love the peanut sauce mixed with scallions, hot chili oil, eel sauce, soy sauce, and peanuts. So good!!! I love that So Hot has a tablet on the table so you can order whatever you'd like. Don't order too much or else there is an extra charge! Food comes out quickly so no need to be greedy. The cocktails are really good, too! Besides bulgogi, I also love grilling spam and pineapple together, prime brisket in the hot pot broth, and the lobster meatballs. If you're in the mood for hotpot and/or Korean BBQ...So Hot is where it's at!!
