Southern Pasta Company Ghost Kitchen offers scratch-made Italian food and is located downtown Raleigh. This ghost location allows you place your order online and then pickup your to-go order at your selected time. I was able to place my order for a pickup time 30 minutes or more after I placed my order. After I placed my order I got a confirmation email and receipt in reference to my order. The business offers pre-selected pasta dishes, sides and desserts or there is an option to create your own pasta dish. The business is a little hard to find. Once you get to the location the pickup area is located behind the UPS building. I approached the pickup door a few minutes before my order was supposed to be ready. An employee got my name and asked which car I was in and said that he would bring it over in a few minutes. He was friendly and within a few minutes I had my order. My food was hot and was packed in a bag with silverware and a napkin. I ended up getting the coastal shrimp linguine minus the mushrooms. The shrimp was a nice size and the tomatoes were fresh. Overall the dish was filling. Next time I may try the Alfredo pasta.

I had never seen this type of concept before with what's called a ghost kitchen. My guess is to reduce overhead they don't have a permanent kitchen/storefront. You order ahead online (easy), pick a day and time for pickup (not daily), and then head out when it's ready. It was a little hard to find, but their Instagram video helped me navigate behind the UPS building. I was a few minutes early, but a man saw my car, came out and got my name, then brought my order out. He was nice and it took no time at all. I'd ordered the Penne SoPaCo which is penne pasta, brisket, mushrooms, onion, and peppers tossed in a BBQ Alfredo sauce. It was amazing! Where has this sauce been hiding all my life? The side Caesar salad was just ok. I had some white wine along with it and was full by the time I was finished. This is a great option for those working in downtown Raleigh. I'll be ordering this dish again.
