Surprisingly tasty for what they describe! Got the Reggie, which is literally just a biscuit sandwich, but wow, they've perfected every element. The fried chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. A lot of care was taken to marinate this chicken well in advance. The biscuit was also amazing. Had that nice crust, but nice, fluffy and warm after you bite into it. The gravy to finish things off was just excellent. Not overpowering and married the components together. The food is just wonderful! Definitely worth stopping at one of their many locations for a bite!

Food is excellent! Always a treat. The seating area is comfy outdoors too. If you’ve never been here before, few things to know before you go:

You order at a counter.
You pour your own coffee.
You get your own water.
You get your own utensils (seriously. They bring the food out with no utensils, you’re expected to get up and grab your own from a bin)
You bus your own table.

All that’s fine, but if you’re like me and only tip for service, know there really isn’t any here. The food is excellent and worth every penny, but tipping for no service makes no sense to me personally. I tipped the first time I went here a few years back and felt a little robbed. Didn’t make that mistake again. Totally worth coming here regardless for the weirdness and the biscuits are really amazing! Good vegetarian options, too.

Good food. Decent atmosphere. For $26 per meal, we were not impressed with the fact that we have to order at the counter, refill our own coffee, clean our own tables, and “tip” employees who only came to our table once with our orders.

Even Denny’s was more affordable and their servers were more attentive, refilling our coffee and drinks, etc….

Also, for a restaurant in a gentrified neighborhood that is historically black, you would think the staff would include black employees. There were none during our service.

While we are major “support local” patrons, I would think twice about eating here again. Once is good enough to get the hype because the food is good enough. However there are better, more inclusive local restaurants to support.

That said, the food is the only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars.

Very cute spot with excellent biscuits!
My friends really enjoyed their biscuits and gravy, I got a biscuit with apple butter that was fabulous and a blueberry basil poptart. The poptart filling and crust were great but the basil glaze threw me off and I didn't enjoy that aspect.

They have indoor and outdoor seating, the staff were friendly and we definitely enjoyed our morning there.

These biscuits are absolutely awesome. They've got a bunch to choose from and they serve some beers, and bloody mary's as well.

The biscuits and gravy was excellent, although very heavy. The biscuits will fall apart as you eat them, I don't see how they can't. Once you realize that, it turns into more of a scrambled biscuit plate, which is just fine, cuz it's all going to the same spot anyway.

This was so good it made me want to inquire about franchising one down here in Las Vegas. I didn't, but I wanted to.
