Mexican food purgatory at best. The ambiance inside is Applebee's/chain setup with Mexican flair/atmosphere. Compared to some local Mexican chains the advantage is you get a sports bar at OTB. Most of the food I've ordered has always been better than Taco Bell, but no where near the real deal Mexican you can get along Street Road or in Bristol Borough. If you want to chill with a margarita and eat chain Mexican this is a good spot. Their chips, salsa and queso got me though. I think it's the hot pepper kick in the salsa, but it is one of my fav's. Thin and simple picante, but I really enjoy that part of the visit. Even the queso has a peppery kick and good flavors going on. Taco's, quesadillas and any entree I've had are average to OK. You get plenty of rice and beans with your meals. The kids enjoy their tacos and the wife is loyal to the steak and chicken fajita. Good place for families, staff is always friendly. Take out wait times can be long. We used to get food delivered, but I think they recently cut that off which is a bummer. 3.5-4.0 solid Thanks guys!

I loved my experience at On The Border. I needed a quick bite before a movie at the Neshaminy Mall and this was in walking distance. We got seats near the bar area so it was nice to be able to watch the game while we ate. Service was great. Allison was very attentive and friendly. We got our food fast and it was delicious. My favorite thing were the Chicken Flautas. First of all, look how pretty they are! They were crunchy and full of flavor. Just enough toppings and the queso on the side was the perfect dip. The salsa had a little kick to it, and the fajitas were tasty. I had a great experience and we will definitely be back if we're in the area again!

I suppose it is the difference between a national highway food franchise's attempt at Mexican cuisine, and a local native of El Salvador's authentic kitchen cooking up family recipes from the motherland (Noemi's in Bristol, PA), but the comparison could not be avoided on nearly consecutive days. Not saying On the Border didn't deserve some props for effort in the margarita flight department, nor for its value proposition. It does. But, when it comes to flavor, texture and originality, there is no dispute which is the real deal, and which a game pretender. We enjoyed the three "premium" margaritas, each with a different branded tequila and citrus garnish. They were a fast start that quickly took our edges off. The chips & salsa were commercial quality, but far from baked at home. Our Shrimp and Fish Tacos were decent, but based of frozen filets and crustaceans. Decent, flavorful and appropriately messy, but not what fresh seafood would have brought to the festivities. We were happy with the experience. Service was friendly and anticipatory. We took home the extra tacos for the fam. Plenty of rice and beans. Pleasing adobe walled atmosphere. 3.5 Estrellas Mexicanas!

Damn fine Chips & Salsa combined with a very serviceable menu of greatest hits "Mexican" fare keeps On The Border on our every six months or so restaurant rotation. You won't find any Michelin Stars here but for a quick, reasonably priced pit stop you could do a whole lot worse. All a very long way of saying I hope that they can survive their bankruptcy filing as I'll miss the Chips & Salsa and please don't sleep on the excellent Tortilla soup. Five easy stars.

Our server Kaci could not have been nicer. The beer was cold and the place nicely decorated but I'm afraid that's about all the good news I have. I had the Gran Papi which included Cheese quesadillas, chicken tinga enchilada, ground beef taco, chicken flauta and beef empanadas with Mexican rice. It all looked delicious but I really think if I were blindfolded, I wouldn't have been able to taste the difference among all those selections. A beef entree had a very nice flavor but maybe a 1/4 of the slices were gristly. I won't be in any rush to return.

I had a great experience dining here at on the border. For a chain restaurant, they got some pretty good stuff on their menu. Lots of drinks and food options to choose from. We ordered the steak fajita and the ultimate fajita and they both came out so delicious. The ultimate fajita comes with steak, chicken, shrimp and pork with peppers and onions and also wrap, rice and beans. We also really enjoyed their drinks as well. Got the pineapple margarita and also the mango tango frozen margarita and those were amazing as well. Service was great. Ordered our food and drinks and came out pretty quick. We got started off with chips and salsa right from the start. Server was really friendly and attentive. Restaurant was really clean. Has a lot of seating and also has bar seating with TVs. Got to watch my Phillies play from where we were sitting at so that was perfect. I would recommend this spot if you're looking for a chain Mexican spot with good food and drinks.

Tried this new location (see my other review for Hicksville). The restaurant was really pretty. The food was a bit different from the other location but delicious just the same. The service was strange. The waiter couldn't remember different requests and some of the food came out wrong. But...it was readily corrected and the manager even came over at the end to offer us free queso on our next visit. Still a nice experience and I would definitely go back!

Yes, I finally ranked a chain restaurant with 4 stars. I do really enjoy On the Border. While none of the experience is authentic, I enjoy the atmosphere of this place. The place is surrounded by Mexican plates, a chancellor made of old Mexican beer bottles, etc. They bring out chips and salsa which honestly taste pretty store bought; however, the waitress who was taking care of us for Fathers Day was very quick in checking up when we finished our chips and salsa. The menu (of course) had calories listed. This prompted me to get a fajita salad. I really like how the chicken fajita was cooked. I wish they would have cooked the corn with the chicken/onions in the fajita dish. The salad part was lettuce (which didn't look really fresh), tomatoes, and corn. I did like how the dishes were separated.

Very nice lunch with excellent virgin margaritas. We both had border bowls.. mine with delicious grilled shrimp and my friend with portobello mushroom. We'll be back.
