Please, please see my pictures! In addition to the obvious language barrier, these owners are cheap as the work day is long!!! I was only seated maybe one minute and was asked if I were ready to order. Eh, no! No tea or those fried things (I don't eat them anyway), served on a PAPER PLATE, AND GIVEN A SINGLE THIN NAPKIN! My food came out in it's literal containers for God's sake! W T H ?!!! My actual dish - shrimp and lobster sauce was pretty good. MANY shrimp & tasty, thick sauce (no peas, how I prefer). However, the large top of the container shrimp, were fresh. About five others, deeper down, smaller and NOT as fresh. When I sought out another napkin (or 12!), walking up to the counter, OMG I see the odd self-serve! Water looked dirty too. My server didn't check on me once! Lastly, while eating, a take out customer returned because her order was messed up. That was an almost ten minute test of frustration (even for me - UNINVOLVED!) This restaurant screams "we don't have to be courteous - we only want your business and money!" HARD PASS !!!!!

Tao Yuan is under new management and the restaurant now seems to cater more to the takeout customer. The space itself is clean and simple. There isn't really a wait staff, but the person that took our order and also ran the cashier was very pleasant. The food was pretty typical Chinese takeaway. Nothing really out of the ordinary but they did have a varied menu, I had the Szechuan Shrimp and it was fine. The sauce had some flavor albeit not spicy and the shrimp tasted fresh. There were a good amount of vegetables also. The saving grace for Tai Yuan is it is cheap. Two lunch specials ran us less than $15.00. My dining partner and I were not in love with the plastic plates and utensils but it is basically a take out oriented restaurant as mentioned above. The Yelp ratings seem pretty accurate, around 3 stars.

Pretty typical take out suburban Chinese. Menu covers all of favorites: egg rolls, beef and broccoli, wonton soup, ma po tofu. I did take out. Prices are low but food was unspectacular. Better choices nearby.

This place is really ghetto. The restaurant had minimal AC for a hot humid day. In fact outside was cooler than inside the restaurant! By the look of the ancient space heaters scattered around they probably aren't real generous with the heat in the Winter. All the food is served in plastic small take-out containers. They did not have wonton soup??????? A Chinese restaurant with no wonton soup??????????????? Hot and sour soup was inedible--too spicy and it looked like they mixed the egg drop soup in it. My lunch partner said the pork in his entree was old. The broccoli in my entree was old. The chicken in my entree was tenderized. My chicken with garlic sauce had a weird red vinegar-tasting sauce on it--NOT a garlic sauce. Won't be returning.

I order shrimp fried rice. It was rice and shrimp. No vegetables. No egg. The scallion pancakes were pasty and tasteless. The sauce for the pancakes was too spicy to eat. Will not eat here again.

Once a Chinese staple for us, the restaurant is under new ownership and is terrible. While the restaurant looks more modern inside, the dining experience is horrible. The food is served in to go containers (wonton soup) or one-use plastic plates with plastic ware utensils and tissue paper napkins (literally). The food came out on a cafeteria tray. There were no glasses for drinks except for a styrofoam cup for hot tea that we made ourselves-the hot tea was hot water, a styrofoam cup, and a tea bag. The food was serviceable but a couple of steps down from what it was under prior ownership.

My family has been coming to Tao Yuan for years, and I have read all the recent reviews. Yes, it has new owners. Yes, the metal tea pots and plates are gone. What you have left is a really competent and reasonably priced take out place. The thick skinned Won Ton soup tastes just right. The egg rolls are good, and the Noodle dishes have fresh vegetables with the soy used sparingly. Though I can understand people missing the sit down resturant elements. It should be stated the food is as good, if not better. The facility is cleaner. The staff is much more polite and less frazzled than the previous owners.

Hello Tao Yuan! We're baaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it's us, your loyal annual visitors using our 2017 Entertainment Book Coupon! Your $11 coupon is better than some of these "high and mighty" establishments who only provide a $10 discount off of $50 spent so we ordered our bland won ton soup, appetizers, and two entrees for consumption. Yes, service is very good and friendly, your fried noodles are diet-busting delicious, but your entrees are a bit waning. No matter, we don't get sick from your food and have plenty leftovers for another meal next week. Oh, and yes, if you have a coupon again in the 2018 book, we'll see you next year!

Small, clean Chinese takeout in Cherry Hill that you could also sit in it you wanted. Decent menu with lots of options. Moo shoo shrimp and scallion pancakes were pretty tasty. The steamed vegetable dumplings were garbage.

This is my first time since they've remodeled and changed the name. Sadly disappointed. Spartan booths and atmosphere. Food is served on Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. It appears it's more of a takeout with tables for convenience if you want to eat it there and serve yourself water or tea. I'll probably not be back after 17 years as a customer there.
