Al's Pizza and Subs -- a place that's been around literally as long as I have. Al's opened the same year I was born, so it's not just a restaurant for me -- it's a core memory. This is the place I run to when I need a break from food experiments and just want something consistently delicious at a great price, served by friendly folks who know what they're doing. No chaos, no nonsense, no disappointment -- just good food every single time. It's finally time I give them the praise they deserve. There's plenty of parking since it's tucked into a strip mall, and the staff are always friendly, quick, and on top of things. I swear, Al's doesn't have "bad food days." Everything is always good and always tastes the same -- which is rare in a world where restaurant consistency seems to be a myth. Their tuna salad? My all-time favorite. I don't know what they do to it, but no one -- no one -- makes it like Al's. It's perfectly balanced: moist but not too moist, flavorful but not overpowering, seasoned just right. Paired with those dense, doughy sub rolls? Perfection. It's honestly one of my favorite meals ever. On this particular visit, I branched out a bit and tried the stuffed cheesesteak pizza, too, for the first time. It was everything I hoped it would be -- thick, doughy crust on top and bottom, filled with savory cheesesteak meat, and an extra cup of marinara sauce for dipping (which I happily used every drop of). And now we get to the dessert fridge. I still remember the first time I walked in after they installed it -- I nearly screamed. A fridge full of rotating desserts? Dreams do come true! These days, grabbing dessert from that glorious fridge is a mandatory part of the Al's experience. I've tried nearly every dessert they've stocked, but the Lemon Blueberry Mascarpone cake has my heart. That said, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Layer Cake I had this time came dangerously close to stealing the crown -- rich, fudgy, deeply chocolatey cake with peanut butter frosting that struck the perfect balance between sweet and nutty. And it was huge. Like, "probably shouldn't have eaten the whole thing but totally did" huge. Al's is -- and always will be -- a solid winner for me. Every single time. Without question. I'll be an Al's groupie until the day they close their doors (which I hope is never). Long live the dessert fridge -- and my lifelong love affair with Al's.

We used to order from here all the time. We would call an order in and then pick it up. They gave me burnt fries 2 times and the amout of meat in their subs gets smaller and smaller.

Placed an online order and forgot to add tip. Called in to add $5/16-17% (on top of a $3 delivery fee) in lieu of a handful of change at the door. The guy on the phone gave me some guff about it being $5, I found it rude in the way he addressed me as "young man" at the end of the call. I'd let it slide but when the delivery guy rang the doorbell, he broke it. The way it was buzzing after he left gave it away. The annoying part is he wasn't man enough to say anything.. this reflects poorly on Al's there off of 409 N. Enola Rd. I'm hoping/praying these two incidents were separate and not due to any disgruntled staff member. I'm afraid to order again, I'd avoid this place.

Ordered a ham and cheese grinder with extra meat for Hubby, amount of ham was pathetic. Called them, they insisted that extra ham was put in the sub. $40 for a salad and 2 skimpy subs is terrible. Seems the prices going up and quality going down!

This pizza shop has been around my whole life, so they must be doing something right. They have a lot of good food from subs to pasta [yes, a pizza shop with good pasta!] Their subs are on homemade bread that is so delicious with just the right amount of meat! You can create your own Stromboli, and the tortellini Alfredo is amazing!!! They also have the best homemade ranch in central PA. There is also a bar side if you would like a beer flight or cocktail with your meal. They are open late and parking Is a breeze. They also have a rewards program.

Another victim of the pandemic perhaps, certainly not the same as it used to be and with the buffet gone, I think I'm gonna be gone too. Pizza was too thick and chewy, conveyor belt, and sorry for being called pizza. I ordered a bowl of chili and waited. And waited. And waited some more until the waitress said there's been this bowl of beef macaroni sitting here and you can have that if you want. They forgot about your chili. What about five minutes left to stuff something down my throat along with the sorry piece of pizza I agreed and wolfed it down. I got through about half of it and had to leave and that sums up my experience here: halfway on service and halfway on quality. I will stop back for the occasional specialty slice if nearby because I do like their whites. When they were thin, anyway. We'll see. Maybe the dough was airy today...

Stopped in late Saturday night. They had very good band playing classic rock and people were up dancing and enjoying themselves. Think they are doing bands on Saturday night which is great! Al's chicken cheesesteaks are shredded chicken (not cubed) and loaded with meat. Also had fries with melted cheddar. They have over 40 beers on tap and all are reasonably priced. Full liquor license as well. Our waitress (Kim) is always so pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend.

I loved going here but I've been let down for the last time and really wanted to make a review. Ordered a medium cheese pizza. Got home and it looked good. Unfortunately they forgot to add the sauce... it was just bread and cheese. Idk how that happens.
