If you want to elevate your healthy dining experience, Chop Shish Mediterranean is the place for you. A gem of a locally independent place for healthy yet delicious food choices. One of the owners, Baran, takes the time to explain Mediterranean options and how he purchases the highest-quality olive oil when he shops for the restaurant. What we chose for our second time experience: Appetizer: We decided on the Sauced Eggplant Entrees: Hubby chose the Branzino, and I chose the chicken kebab. There are extensive lamb choices and vegetarian offerings. I like dining here earlier in the week when it's not so busy. Today, I got the scoop on the large mural in the BYOB restaurant. Marden's Tower/Kiz Kulesi, a prominent landmark currently an observational tower, sits on an island on the Asian side of Istanbul. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant, and You Can Dine Al fresco if you choose.

We were looking for something different for dinner for my birthday, and I had been wanting to try this place. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. I wish I would have taken a few photos, but we were all so happy to just dig right in that I didn't even think about it. We started with the small mixed appetizer platter, with stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanoush, piyaz, and haydari. The fresh pita bread that it was served with was very good, and all of the apps were great. We especially liked the haydari yogurt dip. For dinner my fiancé and I split the Chop Shish Mixed Grill, since we wanted to try a bunch of the options, and knew that we wanted dessert. Everything on it was incredible, but the chicken kebab, chicken adana, and lamb adana were our favorites. And there was more than enough for both of us. The grilled jalapeño and grilled tomato were nice touches, and the rice and salad were good. My son and my parents were also very happy with their choices- chicken kebab, lamb shish kebab, and grilled lamb chops. For dessert, 4 of us got the baklava, and 1 got the kunefe. The kunefe was good, and something we hadn't tried before... but the baklava was out of this world. It was perfect- not too heavy and not too sweet, as it sometimes is. There were 4 pieces in each order, with fresh whipped cream in the middle. We took some home, since the portions were plentiful, and we're already looking forward to the leftovers. And I can't say enough about how wonderful the service was. It was so friendly and genuine, and there was no rush to order or to wrap up after we had finished eating. He insisted that we relax and stay to finish up our wine. And the fact that it is byob was nice, as well. We will definitely be back very soon!

I really liked the food but felt like the atmosphere was strange . They sat us by the kitchen and some of the dishes were chipped. I wanted to go there for a while. I will definitely give them another chance. The service was slow.

My first time and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The ambiance was extremely welcoming, service was delightful, and the food was delicious. The owner took time out to check on me and make sure I was satisfied with everything. This restaurant pays attention to details.

Very good! Had the doner kebab with a flavorful yogurt sauce and a salad. Even the salad dressing was so light and refreshing! Ended with a Turkish coffee and baklava. I was not the only one who was impressed. All members of my party enjoyed their dishes. Our waiter was very patient and accommodating. Told us to stay as long as we liked. And made sure we had lighting since we were seated outdoors. What a hidden gem this place is! Would definitely recommend. Can't wait to try another dish here!

Very nice mural and clean inside this restaurant. It is small, so if you're going on a busy night, I'd suggest making a reservation. Forgot to take pics, but for starters we got the cigarette borek and the zucchini. The borek was delicious! Zucchini was almost like a triangular fritter- tasty but needed some salt. For entrees we got the chicken kabob and donee kebab. This is the third time I have tried to get the doner kebab and they finally had it in stock! Third time really is the charm I guess. I ordered the doner kebab with an extra side of sauce. A little rice, some kebab, and sauce makes the perfect bite! The salad is also delicious. The chicken kebab had a great flavor and was moist. For soda, they have cans. Otherwise the table had a caraffe/bottle of water to self-serve. Service was solid.

Plenty of parking on road and in lot beside the restaurant. Super nice ambiance and loved the light fare. We went to Hershey Park and really needed to get away from amusement park food. This was just what we were looking for. They have high chairs for kids. Service was warm and personable. It's a BYOB place which we didn't know until we saw other people bringing drinks in. Super cute and cozy overall. Highly recommend.

This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have tried the food is fresh and always tastes delicious. It is a cool neighborhood you will drive right by it if you are not looking for it. I have had great service both times and the inside is very unique since it is small. I think that is one of the cool things about this place I have recommended it to several people and all has enjoyed it.

I wasn't feeling the food. I didn't like the salad. It seemed and looked like it was old soggy greens. Not crisp. I didn't like the rice either. The meat kabobs were ok, but overall, I didn't like the salad and rice. No pics. I deleted them after I did my Google review. I did like the calamari though. Our waitress was good and the restaurant looks nice.
