New school Mexican vibes meets old school Mexican recipes. I enjoyed the food here more than I thought I would, and that speaks volumes about the Mexican cuisine I sorely missed when I moved to New York City. Big portions, fair prices, cute servers, a location that cannot be beat. All of it sums up for an experience that is unparalleled in the Harrisburg area, especially when it comes to this cuisine. I ordered a tortilla soup and it is served in a massive bowl with a side of tortilla strips and I enjoyed every bit of it. This is the soup you order when you are feeling blue or chilly. There is no wrong way to make one, but this one gets high marks for creativity, taste, and value. A high recommend from me. For an entree, I asked my server, Ruth (more on her in a few), for her opinion on her choice of fish tacos or seafood enchiladas. She convinced me to order the former. As someone who has been to San Diego, I take these seriously. They are up there with the ones in the city of endless summer. Tangy, great fish, an overall experience that pays respect to a fish rather than insulting it. The fish they use is the right call. I hate restaurants that use tilapia in it. That cheapens the whole thing. The horchata I ordered as a drink was full of flavor and quite refreshing. Now onto my server, Ruth. Cute, intelligent, attentive, she made my experience a wonderful one. I spoke Spanish with her (try me) and it worked well. I gave her a little extra when it came time to pay the bill. I hope someone sees my review and reinforces my feelings on how amazing she was. She earned it tonight. I do not often like I give restaurants five star reviews because I feel it has to be earned rather than given. This restaurant earns it, and that is certainly cause for a fiesta.

It's my first time at this establishment. I'm so impressed with the decor. The day of the dead paintings are out of this world!! Table service was amazing! Carlos was our server. He was so friendly and attentive. Chips, salsa, and queso are served promptly. Both are spicy! I wanted to have something different something with vegetables but not a salad (although those salads were sounding real tasty). I got Pollo Patrón. Grilled chicken with sugar snap peas, carrots broccoli and more, topped with a cheese sauce, served with rice, beans, and warm tortillas. Absolutely delicious! Came out fast too! I'll definitely be back. There a many more things I'd like to try. You should too.

I'm from Southern Cali, I know good authentic Mexican food. This restaurant is the closest I felt to being home eating comfort delicious Mexican food. The service is top notch! Very welcoming and always made sure we were doing good and most of all enjoying our meal. Love the vibes with the floral decor, sugar skull arts, and the Hispanic photos around the place.

Plaza Azteca serves up Mexican cuisine with bold, authentic flavors that hit the spot! Every dish I tried was packed with freshness and seasoned to perfection. The steak tacos are my favorite, that's served with a side of rice and beans. The chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas are also mouthwatering delicious!!! My daughter enjoys the guacamole that's served once you're seated, and I absolutely love how you can order ceviche and it is prepared at table side. The staff is very friendly and service is excellent, your food is served within 10 minutes! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming--perfect for a casual night out or a festive dinner birthday party. The drinks? Absolutely delicious! Their margaritas are a must-try--smooth, flavorful, and strong enough to keep the vibes going. If you're in the Harrisburg area and craving quality Mexican food, this spot is a gem!

Finally there is a good Mexican restaurant in this area of Harrisburg that is easily accessible and close by. The Plaza Azteca off Progress Ave did a great job of remodeling the building of the previous restaurant to create a clean, open, and welcoming space. While Plaza Azteca's are a chain, the quality of food can vary between the different locations depending on the staff working at the restaurant. This Plaza Azteca far surpasses the one on the West Shore. We have probably already been to this location and/or had takeout at least a dozen times and have been very pleased. (A couple mis-steps with the accuracy of take out orders) . The dining room provides space for families and large groups. The bar and bartenders are great and create a positive vibe to relax with a drink (large selection on tap in addition to mixed drinks). We have sampled a variety of items off the menu and have been pleased with all our choices. A few highlights are: Spinach and Chicken Quesadillas, enchiladas, and the fajitas. The prices seem higher than needed, but portion sizes are large so things equal out in the end.

Service was great! Super fast and very attentive. We ordered a steak fajita and molcajete (not listed on the menu). The molcajete is good for two big eaters or 3 normal people. It comes with fajita wraps, rice and refried beans. It was memorable and good. Great place for large groups and kids.
