I did a trial class a few weeks ago before signing up for an 8 week class as I'm just not sure what day works best with my busy work schedule. I was able to make 3 pieces and the pictures are of the finished creations. I've never thrown on a wheel previously so it was nice having someone guide me and show me what to do and explain how the process works. There were so many glazes to choose from so it did take me about a half hour to decide which pieces I wanted which color. Very pleased with how affordable the class was and the products turnaround time was in a timely manner! I will definitely be back!

Really nice pottery at the Christmas Show at the Farm Show in Harrisburg, Pa. They have some really interesting items, that you will never see anywhere.

I have yet to take a class here (but hope to one day try the Trial Pottery class for beginners) but have purchased many functional pottery pieces by Riverbottom Pottery. Each piece is fantastic in that they are uniform in shape yet still unique by style and glaze. I love the natural look and feel of the pottery pieces and knowing that each item was carefully handmade. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of work.

The owner spends more time on his own work and doesn't teach you a thing. He pays attention if you owe him money. You also never know when he's going to put your art in the kiln. You'd be better off trying the Mechanicsburg Arts Center.

The reviews by PH and Bob C (who I think is the owner, are both right). The artisans who work there are very nice however it would be nice if there was an emphasis on the creation of art and exploration of other items outside the items that are sold. However if its not the owners intent then move onto something else accordingly. I found the staff to be nice but if you aren't on the same page as the owner, move on.

I took lessons there about a year ago and let the owner and staff know from the very start that I had absolutely no knowledge or experience with any pottery or wheel throwing. The owner took his time showing me each step in the process from kneading the clay to trimming the pot and glazing the finished product. I was extremely impressed with the products i took home and pleased with the total experience.

I had always wanted to learn how to throw pottery on a wheel. I took one 8week class prior to this coming here and was very much a beginner. Under the guidance of the owner I've made huge improvements. He is a knowledgeable craftsman and he has taught me techniques that make it fun and easier to throw. He knows how to make just about anything and can guide you on the hows and why's to constructing your own piece correctly. The facility is clean given what is being done there. There is everything you need to make a finished piece of pottery and the turn around getting things out of the kiln is pretty fast. It's been fun going here and I plan to continue to take classes.

Hello, I am not a student but a consumer. I had him make a custom piece and when I picked it up I had questions of the structural integrity of the piece and he said I'll stand behind my work. 4 months later the piece failed and I went back to show him, he questioned my honesty and was rude. In the end, he did refund my money and I would NOT recommend this business if you care about customer service.

About a year ago I took my pottery to this gallery to be sold. The owner called me a few months later and told me a mug of mine had sold and he would send the check. I never received the check. Recently he left me a voicemail and asked me to come pick up my work. I went to pick it up and not all of it was was there. I had a record of what I had given him, 9 pieces, and he gave me back 5. He was very rude. He said he probably sold it on discount, which was never an option he told me about. Even if it was, shouldn't that mean I should get some of the money for my work? Maybe he just lost track of my pieces and the money, I understand that, but he should take responsibility for being a terrible business man. I would not recommend selling at this gallery, buying supplies from them, or taking lessons from them.
