Stealey's is a nice addition to Harrisburg's Midtown dining scene. The name is a light reference to the Grateful Dead ("Steal Your Face") and the decor is definitely Dead-infused. A large bar area is at the back of the restaurant along with high top tables and rail seats along some of the walls. The narrower front section has booths and more conventional seating for dining in. Stealey's intends to build a reputation based on food and our meal did not disappoint. My companion ordered a smash burger and I had a chicken cheesesteak with provolone--both were excellent. Service was friendly and attentive though (as another reviewer noted) it isn't immediately obvious whether there is wait service for the bar high tops and rail seats (there is). The bar is huge and was definitely busy on the late Friday afternoon when we visited. Business is definitely jumping due to a spate of recent publicity about the opening. There were about a dizen drafts available with a mix of styles and price points. There a number of flat screen TVs in the bar area so this is definitely a place to catch your favorite teams. The vibe is definitely local neighborhood but friendly. My companion had visited not long after Stealey's opened and shared plenty of stories about friendly patrons. Stealey's occupies the former Shady McGrady's but has been completely renovated with no trace of the smoking that was previously allowed. Stealey's adds to the list of unpretentious Midtown bars with great food. Definitely recommend!!

The food was pretty good. I liked the roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was roasted in house. I think it was tasty. Next time I may order it with cheddar or some sort of cheese. The horseradish did nothing for me. I enjoyed the fries too. They were nicely seasoned. My boyfriend got a pizza. It was thin crust but also pretty tasty. He also enjoyed his wings and the bacon maple sauce. They should somehow figure out how to better ventilate the restaurant, but the food alone is worth visiting to at least try the place out.

Long hallway walking up to the bar with a few booths. Approximately 20 bar seats. Next to the bar there are 4-person high tops that could probably be pushed together if you had a larger group and it wasn't busy. Most chairs have backs but some are just cushioned stools. When the bar filled up a few were able to use those stools to add a seat or two to the bar area. Arrived around 4:30 on a Friday. They scan everyone's IDs. It became a little unclear sitting at a high top whether a waitress would come or not. A table behind us ended up leaving because no one came to them (even after it was clear waitresses were on duty.). Luckily our bartender was great and she just continued serving us because the one waitress went past several times without asking. It was fully packed by 6. Definitely a neighborhood bar type of vibe and you could tell some of the bar patrons knew each other. Knowing how smokey the prior bar was, this place is now non-smoking and you can't really tell it was previously smoking. Onesie bathrooms. Pizzas are thin crust style which is clear on the menu. They have both a food and drink special each day which is nice. Their ranch seemed homemade and was great! Originally they forgot the sour cream for the quesadilla but made eye contact with the bartender and she brought it over quickly. Hopefully they can figure out which waitress/bartender has what table so they don't lose additional patrons. Someone, maybe a manager or owner did come by to ask how the food was, which in my opinion is important to a restaurant overall, but especially in the early days. Overall, would return! I want to try their smashburgers next. Would rate a 4.5 if yelp would let me.

Very little roast beef on sandwich. No horseradish as advertised on the menu. 1/2 cup of macaroni and cheese for $4 . Not very tasty. Not very hot . Big disappointment
