I came here last night with my family and we ordered a variety of dishes. I had the honey teriyaki salmon with a side of barbecue wings, my husband got the barbecue chicken salad, and my mother-in-law had a burger. Overall, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals -- except for the wings. Since it was Tuesday, they were on the half-price wing special, but they were extremely overcooked, tough, and honestly tasted like leftovers. That was a real disappointment given how good everything else was. Another issue I noticed was in the restroom. Instead of the toilet paper being stocked in the holder, the large rolls were sitting on the back of the toilet, which felt pretty unsanitary. Having to reach behind to grab and unravel a roll that's been handled by many people (and sitting right by the toilet) was off-putting. So while the main dishes were great, I'd caution anyone coming on wing night and hope management takes a closer look at both the wing prep and the restroom setup.

Irish Pub style neighborhood spot. The Happy Hour menu was decent, we split an order of the loaded fries which were half off the regular price and more than enough for us to share. The margarita I had left much to be desired. At this point in the game if you're still using a sweet and sour mix, probably Daly's, then your drink is not going to measure up. I would probably stick to beer or wine. The burger and onion rings were pretty damn good. We had the Captain Morgan and it was juicy and delicious. I would try other things on their menu. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

I'd been to the Drake once before, and had the burger, but didn't get an opportunity to write a review. Well, I returned recently, but didn't have the burger. I would like to say, the burger I had on my first visit was very good, and that will be taken into consideration for this review. I love spanakopita - I used to frequent a cafeteria in DC, a few blocks from where I worked (17th and L). They made the spinach pie daily - it is still the best pie I've had. I had recently had a burger, which is why I didn't order one at he Drake. Looking over the menu, I was surprised to see Spinach Pie. I wasn't expecting to get an entree like that at this restaurant, but I decided I would go for it. It wasn't the typical square piece of spanakopita, cut from a casserole, you would expect. It was a triangular shaped folded pastry, filled with spinach and feta. The picture reflects the filo pastry crust was a little too dark, it was baked a little too long, and parts were too crispy. However, underneath that first thin shell was a flaky, tasty pie crust. The spinach-feta filling was delicious and flavored just right - there was plenty of it inside the pie. It came with a Greek salad, which was also tasty. Adding together the burger on my first visit and the pie on my second, the Drake will be a ' tavern' I'll be going back to.

While the Drake definitely gave off vibes somewhere between irish pub and dive bar, the food was decent and the service was ok. We went on trivia night by coincidence, which looks to be a good time, so the place was close to packed. I enjoyed a grilled reuben and people with me had the french onion soup and traditional burger. No complaints about any of the food on the menu but definitely standard pub food. Not sure I will be jonesing to go back but wouldn't be opposed either.

I really wish this place had better food, because I like dark vaguely Irish American pubs and the atmosphere is always fun. The problem is that they're verging on gastropub prices for what is only slightly better than dive bar food. We went last night with our kids and had. Buffalo wings: At around $17, I had high hopes, but these were overcooked and way, way too salty (and I like salt). A bourbon burger: This was a big burger but not a good burger. I ordered it rare. I have never once had a properly cooked burger here. This one came out medium and on the tough side. It was drenched in a thin BBQ sauce that had soaked through the bun by the time it was served. I did not taste the alleged bourbon. The menu didn't say it came with lettuce, so I had to scrape off some BBQ drenched shreds of iceberg. I hate shredded iceberg lettuce. This just was not a $19 burger. Fries were very good, but the portion was minuscule because they insist on serving them in a little metal cup to look fancy or something. The side of fries my daughter got with her kids meal was bigger than mine because there was no silly metal cup. Corn beef and cabbage special: It doesn't seem fair to say that corned beef and cabbage is visually unappealing, but this one was shockingly unappealing. I didn't taste it but my wife said it tasted strange. Kids Mac and cheese: The unexpected star of the entrees. Very solid Mac and cheese. Dessert: We got two brownie Sundaes that were big and delicious. No complaints. Drinks: I had a few rum and cokes, all of which were weak. C'mon guys. I'm at a bar with mediocre food. At least give me a buzz. Service: Our waiter was nice but for the second time I've been there the waiter was also assisting at the host stand, which slowed things down. Value: Two entrees, one appetizer, one kids meal, a side of fries, 4 alcoholic beverages, two sodas, two desserts, and tip came to $150. It's just too expensive for what it is. It's close to me and it's a good place to catch a game so I'll probably be back but I really wish they'd either up their food game or drop prices by like 20% to be more commensurate with the value.

Service was attentive and friendly. Food was decent. Our party of 5 all left happy and full. The pizza crust was similar to gas station, but my son didn't mind it. Would return when visiting family in Jenkintown.

Food was excellent. My wife had sheppards Pie and I had traditional Turkey dinner. Ordered a draft dark beer and waited over 1/2 hour. Finally stopped our waiter and was told the keg was out. Offered a Guinness bottle. OK but not what I wanted. That took another 15 minutes. Bear in mind the bar was 15 ft from our table. Got somewhat of an apology. Thought they should have comped my beer. We will go back and try again. Got a response today. Apparently they really don't care about customer's opinions. Waiting 1/2 hour for a house specialty draft beer and another 15 minutes for a bottled beer is acceptable without an explanation or apology. Certainly not in my opinion. I place equal blame on management and server. Server got the customary 20% tip even though he really didn't earn it. Definitely won't return. As they say, "you never get a second chance to make a good first impression.
