In March of 2023 I rented a car for 2 days from Alamo at Paris-Orly for a one way trip to Bordeaux returning the car at Gare Saint Jean. I declined the Alamo auto coverage and paid for the rental with my AMEX. I took a walk-around video of the exterior of the car since the Alamo rental person did not show me a pre-existing damage sheet. Anyway, I drive the car sans problem. Upon returning the car the Alamo clown states the car is damaged. I'm like WTF are you talking about. He then points out three tiny (barely visible) pin sized dings on the roof. So it turns out that Alamo takes advantage of AMEX and claims BS damages since AMEX covers any damages to the vehicle. I argued with two French managers, showed my video, etc. to no avail. So I had to file a claim for $300 with AMEX who credited me immediately. I used to rent exclusively with Enterprise (who owns Alamo). The whole experience pissed me off to no end. Bottom line: I will never use Enterprise, Alamo or any other company associated with the brand and I suggest you don't. Pour les travailleurs de Alamo: Suce ma bite putains. Incroyable. Eviter.

See message below for message sent to corporate re: "the old bait and switch routine where they rent you a compact but after taking a train 3 days cross country all they have is a ridiculous van! I am writing to you to express my extreme disappointment before writing my yelp review. I made a reservation for a compact car from an Amtrak train coming from California to Philadelphia to my mothers funeral. After traveling cross country with assurance of a compact car suitable to be in a funeral procession I find the "corporate" took all the cars leaving only giant mini vans. I have not cried about my mother for days but this broke me. Customers should be able to count on receiving what they requested. I will have to drive back to 30th street station tomorrow in a vehicle I am uncomfortable driving to try to exchange it. It is unfair and unethical to bait and switch customers after taking their money. People choose cars they are comfortable driving and that meet their needs. Not sure I will ever rent from you again I am so upset and disappointed Cynthia Mack

This location is inside the 30th Street Station. As you enter the station, there's a tiny room off to the left side that houses them along with other rental car companies. Access to major roadways is convenient. Check in was fairly quick as there was only 1 person in front of us. We reserved for a compact car but got upgraded for free to a Jeep Compass. The rate was a bit high but it was just after the 4th of July holiday, so that was expected. The cars are stored below the main floor of the station. The Alamo lot was quite a walk away - easy for us but not so much if you have someone with walking difficulties. Signage was adequate, and there were a few workers around if you need assistance. The Jeep was clean, newer, and gave us no problems. Oddly, the gas tank was filled only halfway, and we were told to bring it back that way. I hate that! Why don't they have others or they themselves fill it up full? It's hard to gauge the gas level without feeling cheated if you know what I mean. Returning the car was easy. Though we didn't see any signs, we just parked in an open Alamo stall, and an agent quickly checked us out.

They were good, today. Had my reservation ready to go, she was polite and friendly throughout the process, the car was right where it was supposed to be, and haven't had a problem with it. Definitely worth the taxi ride from the airport - It would've been $350 more to get the car from PHL.

Travellers to Philadelphia should avoid this company. Was told they have no cars available despite having made a reservation on their website 2 weeks prior. Completely ruined our travel plans. No managerial accountability and an unpleasant customer service experience. Won't be going back.

Place was filthy dirty. Not messy, DIRTY, inside and out. I know it doesn't really matter what the office space looks like but they're running a business, there is A LOT of competition, I would hope the staff would have more pride in the place. Even where they clean the cars out upon return, they dump all that trash on the ground. It's a shame!

Matt went above and beyond to help us find the right vehicle for our move and made sure we were taken care of. Without a doubt, Matt provided the best customer service I've ever received from a car rental company. If we weren't moving across the country, we would rent from here again without question.

Terrible customer service. Nobody in the parking lot will help you because they're either taking extra long lunch breaks or ignoring you for some other reason. Be prepared to jump through a bunch of insurance hoops or pay at least $1,200 extra if they find the slightest ding that wasn't reported on their damages list. If you decide to use them, check the car against reported damages before you take it out, then double check, then triple check and report the slightest scratch that they may have missed. Just do it, because they'll try to scam you, or your own insurance company out of as much as they can get. *Update: we are not the only one's who've had this problem with Alamo. Spoke with someone last week who ran into the EXACT SAME PROBLEM with this company. It also turns out that if they find damage that isn't reported (however minor), they'll try to charge even more for "lost business" due to having the car go to a repair shop. I also noticed that for the claim, they took photographs of other parts of the car not included in the damages report. Scam artists.
